His story was so tragic I almost don't want it to be over. With hints of both of them still being alive, it's appealing to think that Deshret was either reincarnated as Alhaitham and the archon quest was him trying to redeem himself for his past mistakes, or he will possess Scaramouche through archon residue as a mirror to how Ei "possesses" the shogun puppet. Both Scaramouche and King Deshret were abandoned by two female gods who they were really close to, Rukkhadevata/the flower goddess and Ei/Yae, and they both have a central theme of divine knowledge. Also, how else will they tie Scaramouche into the Sumeru narrative without it feeling too much of a late insert?

Deshret wasn't abandoned by the goddess of flowers she just unknownly died that doesn't count as abandoning and rukkhadevata didn't abandon him she just went to her side he could've still made his life better if he weren't so ignorant as for scaramouche it's different

I think the desert civ got their info from the seelies. I think in the lay of Al Ahkma it tells of how the desert king captured the fallen seelies in glass bottles and seemingly asked them a bunch of questions "He was at once a greedy king and a curious child". He also makes a city called the moon city or lunar palace or something like that for the seelie refugees. Khaenri'ah on the other hand got their knowledge from the ley lines and explicity make their automatons to mimic lifeforms (serpents, crabs, humans and dragons/vishaps) these geometric robots are too clearly different in aesthetic and philosophy. Even their weaponry is so different I don't think the desert civilization is related to Khaenri'ah it would be more accurate to consider this a glimpse at a kind of proto-seelie civiilization.
@LadyOMyth
@LadyOMyth 2 года назад
Unlike Orobashi though, Scarlet King only sacrificed himself after his people were being punished for his transgression, whatever that might be. We still don't know what this knowledge is and why the people of Sumeru were punished for it so long ago. This is actually making me think though. These gods learning forbidden knowledge and their people being punished for it . . . I know we've been told that places like Khaenri'ah were nations without gods, but what if that was a lie? What if they had someone that was like a god or god substitute and because of their transgressions, their learning of forbidden knowledge, that then led to the destruction of their country. In Khaenri'ah's case, maybe it was Gold, Albedo's master and creator. Maybe it was the Abyss sibling. Maybe it was Paimon. We really don't know yet. Here's another interesting theory from Rukkhadevata's decision to sacrifice herself with her friend. My thought goes back to the knowledge that the Scarlet King had a crush on the Goddess of Flowers and the three of them were friends. It could be possible that while the Goddess of Flowers knew about the Scarlet King's crush, she never said anything about her own feelings because of their friendship and because she knew that Rukkhadevata had a crush on him. It's a longshot, but it's a trope I honestly don't see very often anymore and if it was true, it's incredibly sad. That would mean that when the Goddess of Flowers died, Rukkhadevata had to separate herself from the man she loved so that he could grieve his lost love and she had to live in an eternal state of pining. (Not to mention that she was also grieving for the loss of her friend just as he was.) That being said, the scene where they sacrifice themselves could be more of a Romeo and Juliet kind of sacrifice, where upon the man she loved killing himself and knowing she can't live without him, she finishes what he started, knowing it would kill her so she could be with him in the afterlife. Rather that or, like Guoba, it reverted her back to a younger version of herself with no memory of her past so she doesn't have to live through the painful memory of losing both of her friends, not to mention the man she possibly loved. If Rukkhadevata never died physically, she died in memory and that memory is forever lost to the ley lines.

I have a theory about the hydro archon. In the teyvat story trailer, Dain says that the hydro archon judges other gods. I think that she went to khanreiah and saw everything that went on and saw what, allegedly, the other gods did. Because of this, she judges the gods. The irony is, she is just as guilty, she didn’t do anything to stop the other archons, therefore her judgment is contradictory. Hopefully I explained that well enough.
@theRaika
@theRaika 2 года назад
Only 1 thing I think is off, if the Forbidden Knowledge was from Khanaeriah then why haven't Celestia clean up all the ruin machines still roaming Teyvat. It's like the gods don't have any issues with them, I feel the Forbidden Knowledge was Knowledge from the Abyss. In exchange for this knowledge abyssal power started to consume the living, why people started to grows scales etc. An effect from Marana which is also known as death. In some records it's said the effects of this illness (curse) causes people's skin to completely change, making them unrecognizable, making them loose all sense of humanity. What does this sound like, it sounds exactly like the curse on hiluchurls. I believe King Deshret fell for the same promises that the Abyss Queen may have given to Khanaeriah, "a chance to have a better, more beautiful land or living" but was a tricked to give them knowledge that was actually a curse. I also feel, when this knowledge/curse started to get out of hand, Celestia steps in, same for the old civilization on dragon spine, I think they also got their hands of this knowledge/curse hence Celestia dropping a Nail to purify the out of control Marana/Abyssal Energy consuming the land. What I'm saying is, Khanaeriah, King Deshret, Dragonspine Civilization, Tsurumi island were all victims to a promise that was a curse from the Abyss, but I could be completely wrong on that 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@orangejuicelexy I think it's waay easier to understand tho, what if they r simply two different events and Rukkhadevatha tried the same again during the cataclysm but without Deshrets help she lost more than just most of her power? Nahida says in the story that Deshret is even longer gone than the greater lord, the cataclysm was pictured as a flood of monsters from Kaenri'ah, not as a pandemic like eleazar, I believe they set a narrative to make us think Nahida is Rukkhadevatha after that event (which doesn't add up with the timeline) and add a twist in 3.2
@sharathvarier621
@sharathvarier621 2 года назад
@@orangejuicelexy both events happened at different time. Scarlet king died thousands of years ago and this is confirmed in the story. Cataclysm happened 500 years ago. I think rukkhadevata used her powers too much turned into child then regained her power before the cataclysm happened. Then during the cataclysm she either exhausted too much power and turned into nahida with no memories of her previous life, or straight up died and then nahida was born
@EmaA-pu7nc
@EmaA-pu7nc Год назад
@@orangejuicelexy I think they're separate events. After all, it's been mentioned that Eleazar and The Withering started over a millennia ago - and during the recent story quest, Eleazar was revealed to be a result of the forbidden knowledge King Deshret possessed. So maybe it's not that it's forbidden knowledge from Khaenri'ah specifically, but an even older civilization - maybe the very same one Khaenri'ah came out of as an offshoot. There's also the bit about Rukkhadevata's transformation into a child. The awkward thing here is that, if you look closely, Rukkhadevata still seems to appear slightly older than Kusanali's current appearance. (Not completely sure about this). My personal theory is that she won the archon war in this form and then further regressed to a total newborn ("The sages found the newly-born Dendro Archon and whisked her off to Sumeru" - Collei) during the Khaenri'ahan disaster. Still, your theory is great! I'm actually interested if Alhaitham really might be an eroded version of the Scarlet King or something.
@SirZelean
@SirZelean Год назад
Yeah, as far as I understood, first Rukkhadevata helped Deshret and simply lost a lot of power and became a child. A long while later in Khaenri'ah, she again spent a lot of her power, but this time a lot more, pretty much everything she had. The effect of that was that she became as if she was 5 and lost all her memories. Rukkhadevata didn't die, she became Kusanali, because she had not idea of her previous identity since she lost all memories. Just like how Marchosius became Guoba

If the knowledge was forbidden that means it's source it's either knowledge of weapons or a general knowledge that tell them about other worlds and in consequences about the honkai ,which would explain why that knowledge spread as a plague also it's posible that the eleazer is a lesser form of the honkai infection or atleast connected

Khaenri'ah wasn't trapped underground and this was before the cataclysm why would they be retaliating against anything? I think the desert civ got their info from the seelies, who also suffered a great curse for unknown reasons. If you read the lay of Al Ahkma it tells of how the desert king captured the fallen seelies and asked them a bunch of questions "He was at once a greedy king and a curious child". He also makes a city called the moon city or lunar palace or something like that for the seelie refugees. Even their weaponry is so different I don't think the desert civilization is related to Khaenri'ah it would be more accurate to consider this a glimpse at a kind of proto-seelie civiilization. Rather than Khaenri'ah being shoe horned in it seems like another example of an advanced civ that was destroyed for arrogation of knowledge (joining the ranks of Salvindagnyr and Khaenri'ah) in other words its much more Celestias M.O.

I liked the video but there are some inconsistencies with the timeline. It’s stated by Nahida during act 2 of the archon quest that the scarlet king died even longer ago then the greater lord. Both of the gods could not have died together as one died thousands of years ago and one died at irmunsul. The point at which the scarlet king died would have to be around the time of the archon war, give or take a couple hundred years. Also the leaks you showed should not be definitive proof as the leakers source is deleted translated drafts of the story.

So according to the video the original spread of Forbidden knowledge caused the loss of paradise and forces them to settle in aru village, but in the end some time later [King Desehrt] decided to sacrifice himself. And while he sacrificed himself greater lord R became Nahida or lesser lord Kusanali. Which means another outbreak happened some time after settling in aru village (cataclysm as per absence thingy) and to prevent the spread and death of the forest the above happened. The past grievances must be referring to that time in between, what caused that second outbreak, if the king chose to sacrifice himself for it (b/c of guilt maybe, eroded and was putting himself out before becoming a monster and attack his people, or maybe trusting kaennriahnad they were evil, or maybe opposite having failed them (I believe they wanted to help the king regain what was lost in the first outbreak and kaennriah dunno but yes whatever they did backfired and caused him having to sacrifice himself and GLR turn into LLK. Aka nahida.

there is an error regarding the khaenri'ah helping the scarlet king, since that nation already existed before the khaenri'ah existed as such. the scarlet king lived for several more years taking into account that his kingdom became bigger after the fall of the pillars, since if there is mention of these and taking into account that Sal vindagnyr fell shortly after these and khaenri'ah did not even have that name still and it only had a couple of years of existence or less, it is possible that it was the scarlet king and his civilization that gave help to khaenri'ah or this gave him part of the "forbidden knowledge". The video he mentions makes it very clear that it was his own fault for the use of that knowledge that technology gave him to prosper enormously but with great sacrifice. it was he who sacrificed himself to seal these, his tomb possibly being the place where the marana is currently and also the marana being part of this forbidden knowledge, and the royal tomb of the scarlet king, of course the reason for not saying where he was was for prevent the seal from falling, the mausoleum is nothing more than a huge machine.
@veronicasawyer6099
@veronicasawyer6099 Год назад
i think that since both deshret and rukkhadevatah sacrificed themselves, however the reason that she was reincarnated and not him was that of being chosen by celestia to be the new archon. it was never really solidified that while deshret and the goddess of flowers was alive, rukkhadevatah was the dendro archon. perhaps the akadeymia, instead of truthfully stating the lack of a dendro archon due to sumeru being ruled by three figures, they chose to demonize deshret for his rash actions and patronize rukkhadevatah for her sacrifice. idk, just a thought maybe. because when zhongli became archon, all of the other gods of liyue died. it would make sense that celestia had not yet chosen a dendro archon and was waiting for something almost cataclysmic to happen so the people of sumeru would more willingly follow her, but it didn’t end well for kusanali due to the akadeymia’s involvement. idk!

@shironeko-vl8jp
@shironeko-vl8jp Год назад
i can assure you its not nuclear fusion is simply impossible in the genshin world because one they actually use elemental powers and made power sources from them ( inazuma island forge , wind currents bottles, etc , mondstadt even use wind energy and since their god is venti, theoretically they have unlimited energy ) two there are adeptus relics ( for liyue alone ) they have shown proof to be usable as an energy source ( ning's palace ) three the science branch of genshin revolves around alchemy ( alchemy is about changing materials into one another which is more valuable for example iron to gold, or those darn "materials" you use to level up ) while in order to discover uranium ( or similar ) we need chemistry which is currently never shown in genshin so far execpt sucrose i think the bottles she carries in her idle animation is like chemestry but even then she doesnt show any progress ( may change in the future ) fourth the scholars in sumeru mainly focus more about nature history and phylosophy rather than actual science and the nation of fontaine mostly have gears as their main technology ( steam punk age ) so yeah no actual scientific progress five nuclear energy requires progress and time a lot of time and since nuclear fusion is exclusive to science ( which is by humans ) celestia will most likely drop a pillar like they did with dragonspine stopping any further progress if they notice something fishy and trust me you can't hide the research of something as big as nuclear fusion six the most obvious link to nuclear energy is the machines in the desert but combining the fact that genshin world doesnt have lead which is the easiest foundable metal that can contain radiation and the people doesnt show any signs of radiation poisoning the theory is discarded seven there are no discoveries on atoms and molecules ( The base to make nuclear weapons and from there move to nuclear energy ) btw skin cancers doesnt cause scales to grow fungus does and the radiation poisoning alone doesnt have a mental impact on victims ( when the symtoms shows is usually when panic and mental decay happens but this is rather your own mind not the radiation )

I find it more likely they got the knowledge from a more advanced space age civilization, given the sun chariot timeline being quite odd. In exchange for raw materials from to the desert and aid, they would get machines and knowledge, possibly even given to khaneriah as well. If they kept it secret for much longer they could advance much rather and improve their machines.

I would think it would be cool that just how Celestia had Makoto go to Khaenri'ah, they ordered the Dendro Archon to go too. I bet that when the Cataclysm hit Sumeru and with the issue of the Eleazar epidemic, Deshret, in his grief and his self-realization of his own weakness, offered to take Rukkhadevata's place in Khaenri'ah knowing that it was the worst place to be at the moment stating that he would repent his centuries of depression and dereliction with sacrifice and sincerely asking his old friend to protect what is now her nation and to keep the memory of the Goddess of Flowers in his stead. But it's all headcanon.

Also his body isn't even in his mausoleum. I would think it would be at the place of his death. But who knows. I'm sure his story isn't over yet though because there's another desert update coming. It would be interesting to get a cutscene that is directly narrated by Deshret himself instead of the priest and to at least see what he and the flower goddess looked like.
