If Dottore is truly is Zandik, and Sohreh’s death was what got him expelled, then this paints his pre-harbinger days in a completely different light. I was under the impression that he was always an unethical mad scientist with no qualms with human experimentations, and that was what got him expelled. If this interpretation is true, then it seems he wasn’t quite as mad as I thought. Sure he had “wild” ideas about humans being complex machines, but he was being, for lack of a better word, “cool” about it. It seems he truly believed he could make a difference with his research. He kept it secret because it was controversial, sure, but he had good intentions. I think what has led him down his dark path was not so much grief (it doesn’t seem like he was that close to Sohreh), but - like many harbingers - rage. He KNEW he could do great things, but he was denied because of an accident. The sages deemed it too dangerous, but he KNEW he could make a breakthrough, given the chance. But he was denied, and subsequently expelled. Like most harbingers, he likely cursed “fate” (constellations, gods, and the Heavenly Principles) for dooming him. He grew enraged at the world, and Pierro invited him to rebel against it. This puts Dottore in pretty much the same position as Scaramouche, Signora, and Pantalone: enraged at the world itself, and determined to do whatever it takes to reject it. Indeed, that seems to be the Fatui’s uniting purpose.
An particular thing about his name, Zandik. It's a Zoroastrian term conventionally interpreted as "heretic in a narrow sense, or, in a wider sense, for a person with any belief or practices." Looking back at the Plame Flame Artifact's lore, Dottore always showed fascination about machinery, and he sees the human body as machine that can be fixed, changed and twinked as he wished. Maybe the death of his friend caused his fixation of the human body to be "powerful" from his skewed point of view. And his disdain towards the Visions Users have a new meaning, and maybe his disdain and resenment towards Rhukadevatta's legacy and the Akasha system --- believing that gods could offer widsom to humankind is a fallacy.
Personally I don't think zandik killed sohreh he was falsely accused, sohreh was definitely killed by someone or something else rather than zandik himself, I heard ppl saying zandik and sohreh went on a date (the picnic night) doubt he would strangle her according to what I heard zandik/dottore was very calm and charming the ppl who say he killed sohreh are those TikTok users (most of them) (I think they assume he's the killer bc she went on a picnic date with him)
So far Sumeru is my favorite, then Inazuma, Mondstadt, and in last Liyue 🤷🏻♀️ I think I love Sumeru most because it’s very nature-cutesy and that’s my Aesthetic. But I am kinda afraid for the desert. 😅
My thoughts of sumeru is that it’s kinda 50/50 for now. On one hand it is beautiful and genuinely interesting with the best main quest so far imo. But on the other the exploration can be tedious sometimes, and there’s a significant lack of major lore. Though I’m guessing that largely has to do with the fact that a majority of Sumeru lore revolves around only four major characters (scarlet king, goddess of flowers, Rukkhadevata, and Kusanali) and a majority of it hasn’t been talked about much at all.
@@annduruu6377 it’s definitely better. Genuinely a fan of the fact that major lore was in a story quest. And the desert area brings a lot to Sumeru and makes the nation unique with the big contrast between Sumeru’s rainforests and deserts.
But Sohreh wasn't killed by machine but Rishboland Tigers (Ragged Attendance Record), at least officially. Dissection Records says about mechanical asphyxia and unknown real reason of her death. It's mean Zandik couldn't be expelled for killing her because nobody would know he was involved in her death. My theory is Zandik was a reason of Soreh death. Maybe it was really a ruin machine and to cover her death he throw up her body to tigers. Then he expelled because he was interested in ruin machines and for unknown reason Akademiya wasn't interested in them - maybe they were still scared of Khaenri'ah's power. Zandik became a student for academics possibilities to his sus research from the start and he knew he must keep it in secret. Soreh discovered it so she was killed - maybe intentionally because she could exposed him. He didn't care about her but only about his research but when he covered her death and rescued rest of team he became too confident and wanted start a official research on ruin machines. It's hard to believe he really cared about Soreh or his team and he always was interested in crazy and dangerous experiments.
I think most of what u said about him "being into crazy stuff" refers to the omega build according to what I know dottore is very calm charming etc compared to what his clones/segments are like
@Dottore this is actually pretty accurate and might be true since his eng VA said "prepare your primogems for me" which reveals that he is indeed playable in the future, I speculate he'll probably get a hydro vision that represents justice
