As a black guy, I know that all types of nationalism are wrong. We all need to accept that we are all humans and start from there. And since there are many divisions amongst us, the best way to fight nationalism, tribalism, racism starts with the people who hold these beliefs. Just like Derek, a white person fighting white nationalism, Muslims should fight against terrorism, Black people against colorism in the black communities, Japanese against isolationism or anti immigration, e.t.c. We all have issues but the solution is not band together and start blaming others or looking down on others to feel better or superior, let’s be one unit or many units that understand humanity has most been successful when we band together as one. Out of many one or vice versa.

In another interview Matt was asked what white people can do to fight racism. He said when another white person does or says something racist, the other white person Must Speak Up Against That Person. This interview makes it seem like Black or Jewish people can change racists one dinner, one person at a time. Matt made it clear in the other interview that another white person speaking out against racism is immensely more powerful.

@Aluminum Marsupial "European" is not a race. St Nicholas was certainly a Christian, but he was from Myra and Myra was a town in ancient southern Turkey. Turkey, by land mass, is positioned 95% in Asia and 5% in Europe. Thrace, in northern Turkey on the Balkan Peninsula, is the only part of Turkey that is on the European continent. Myra was not on the Balkan Peninsula. So, it would appear that "Europeans" and "Americans" are borrowing some of their mythological figures from other continents. Also, why is it that images of Jesus and St. Nicholas seem to get "whiter" in appearance the further they get from where they originated?

The US and many other first world nations have employed political correctness for decades and it works in keeping society in constant self-regulation. Politeness and political tactfulness has been characteristic of first world nations for quite some time. The issue here that people seem to confuse is that political correctness has somewhat become a form of speech policing. This is not political correctness, but it is often confused as such. To be politically correct is to have self awareness and know what to say in the context that you are in, it's a common form of social contract. Nowadays some radical groups use PC culture and exploit it as means to police language and speech; this over here is quite the issue and I worry about it as much as anyone. White Supremacists exploit the fear of political correctness and weaponize the concept as a way to "silence white people" and push this victimization mentality. This is also a really bad issue.

I differentiate between politeness and political correctness. Politeness is treating people with respect. Political correctness is what you described. I believe even the origins of political correctness are Marxist. What we seem to disagree on is the definition of political correctness. I think we see the description of the actual problem as the same, but disagree on whether it's political correctness.

As a lifetime Democrat, I never, ever watched Fox or Megan on that network. I don't know what positions she took then or what she believed. But I do remember she shut down Karl Rove on election night in 2012 when he was trying to spin the incoming results at the end, and say Obama might still lose. I'm sure Roger Ailes blew a gasket at that point. I think she's one of the smartest hosts and tries to uncover the truth, probably more than she's given credit for.

I like how they blur the lines between white surpremacy and nationalism, like the two have anything in common. They don't. Globalism is the opposite of nationalism and that is what the true fight is. Nationalism is like a heavyweight boxer getting into the ring, who represents his country. He's fighting for what he believes in. Doesn't matter if he's black or white, male or female. That is what nationalism is. It is not racist at all. It's an ideology that puts small community ahead of global corporate interests. The true fight in America today is nationalism vs globalism. And globalism is impossible to vote against. Do we want a global society that brings with it tyranny? They want us fighting amongst each other so they can swoop in and play the hero. Don't buy it. This is what the media pushes because they want to keep you misinformed. They want us fighting our neighbor. Not them. Not the rich. Not the global corporate machine.
