How Lainey Wilson Took Over Country Music 

She was an opening act at a music festival I went to last year. During her set, the weather went from nice to lightning and tornado warning. They had to shut down the festival. But even though they forced her band off stage, she stood out there in the pouring down rain and sang Heart Like a Truck a cappella so that her fans would get to hear it. Nothing but respect for her for that.

I came across Lainey Wilson opening for Ashley McBryde a few years ago and wad WAY impressed - I even looped around to catch her again. Great voice, Great songs, and she works her ass off. (Well... maybe not literally, butvit didn't hurt any that she's a looker - i SURE DIDN'T delete any of my Lainey pics from the shows i caught. LOL) Overall, she's mire than deserving of all she accomplished and i look forward to seeing her have a long & stong career arc

I’m from Weaver Alabama a little small rural town where we only have 2 dollar general stores multiple farms and a Walmart about 15 minutes down the road in another little town, but I say all that because when I hear Laniey Wilson talk about her hometown, she reminds me of my hometown. She reminds me of some of my friends that I went to high school with went to football games on a Friday night with, played volleyball with. she just gives you that hometown feel and she let’s you know that it’s OK, to like country music no matter who you are. I love all kinds of music and I love how Laniey gives you that Hometown feel. I really admire her as an artist songwriter and she has an incredible voice.❤

Been to Lainey's concert in Stockholm Sweden on May 2nd, and she was absolute fantastiskt and the crowd absolute loved her❤. She has now conquered Europé absolute!

I knew of her from the Hardy collaboration but only really started checking for her after people were mad she won Entertainer of the Year over Morgan. I was honestly so confused as to why she keeps sweeping awards over my faves so I gave her a listen and wow! Her music is amazing. I hope she keeps getting the recognition she deserves.

I was there in Charlotte when she opened for Luke Combs and her bands equipment got struck by lighting and she had to do a completely acoustic set in a stadium. Truly amazing to hear an acoustic set in a venue that big.

Few can do this….also, she connects in heart with her fans due to her sincerity that who she is matches what she does. I changed to song writer, but would never be able to make it in L.A. or Nashville.. You tube is as close I will get to being a star.... Many of the things you said make me like her. She also reminds me of a retired coworker/close friend and Lainey is basically how I envision my friend when they were younger as far as interests, personality, etc. I told my friend this she knew of her from yellowstone and she said the same thing. Maybe just early but she seems down to earth more than the big stars and all the stuff they do mansions, etc.

I think that the Highway Station on XM radio had a tremendous amount of effect on her career also, they have done a great job of profiling and playing music from lesser-known, or even unknown musicians and they helped promote her greatly. Saw her last August as the 3rd opener to Luke Combs and Riley Green. Less than half the stadium crowd had filled in yet, but she might’ve gotten the biggest ovation of the night after she sang ‘Heart Like A Truck’. Truly wild to see her meteoric rise. Really great and thoughtful video, Grady!

Being from Australia, Lainey Wilson (and country music as a whole) isn't really widespread yet. Sure, you have the occasional group of people that listen to it, but there's no billboards with Luke Combs on them, no magazines with Lainey Wilson etc. In fact, I've only heard a handful of "country" songs being played in public venues and Morgan Wallen is about as country as those songs get. That being said, the internet really is a great tool for discovering music world wide and Lainey has mastered that. From dueting with people on TikTok, to featuring in Yellowstone, she is really trying to put herself out there and it's working like a charm!

You don't have to be a country music fan to love Lanie Wilson she'll bring you in to loving country music by her authenticity by her energy and by her story and but mostly just by listening to her music regardless or not of loving country music I just love her music I guess it's something about the stories in it it's about the truth in it and it's about the giggle in it also it covers the what would you call it the opposites that exist in our lives and how we overcome them

I first became familiar with Lainey Wilson from Yellowstone(Tyler Childers and Whiskey Meyers too), when "Watermelon Moonshine" was released last summer I was like "Hey! I've heard this song before, and so I looked back on Yellowstone season 5 and there she is as Abby singing a snippet of it. She, along with Megan Moroney are my currently favorite female mainstream artists(Sierra Ferrell would be my absolute favorite).

So glad you made this video!! Seeing all the "industry plant" comments she's been getting from people upset about her wins has been really disheartening. Anyone who knows anything about her knows she worked really hard to get where she is. I'm actually terrified she's working herself too hard. I think a lot of it just comes down to plain sexism as well. It seems some country music fans are reluctant to examine a female artist past her looks. Haters gonna hate I guess. Her best country album win was much deserved in my opinion.
