How Left Rear shocks have changed in the last couple of years.

Left rear shocks have made a move to stiffer and it maybe helping. I always say "In racing if we all do the wrong thing it becomes right". Someone is going to win on it. Lets look at the different left rear shocks we build.
LR1-40-350 (starting point)
LR1-75-550 (ending point)
We can add low speed from 40 to 75 and high speed from 350 to 650 in all kinds of combos and it makes different left rear shocks for the customers needs. This shock has a standard bleed total of .09 and gets harder to push in as the high speed goes up. Also as you increase the high speed we increase the gas pressure in the shock to make it work.
The 2nd shock or the new one we are doing is a
LR2-400@300 psi
This is a real stiff shock that will hold the car up on entry and help carry it into the corner. The low speed callout on this is not important to the out come of the shock so we don't call it out. The bleed is decrease to .030 total so this increases the stiff performance of the shock.

I've just gone back to racin after 14 years shocks really changed a lot my knowledge on shocks is videos are really interesting and I'm definitely going to have to give you a call to see about a shock package for my car but thank you for the videos I enjoy watching

I've actually started going to a less stiff LR shock on my sport mod which allows the weight to transfer back to the LR giving more drive off the corner

Really sounds like having one of each would handle rough vs slick. Lr-1 at a rough track like one that always has a dip or after a week of rain. LR-2 for some place thats dry/slick and smooth by the end of hot laps.

Yes, the LR2 would be a good tool to be using to help corner entry and lower lap times.

Is there a way to get the shock to set down when not on the track to meet the deck height rule ?

so does the position sensitive bypass system allow the lr to travel more freely(less stiff) in the last 2-3 of travel and still hold the car up(more stiff) at travels below that(the last 2-3 inches)

Yes, when you say last 2-3 inches it the last 1.5-2” of travel, that is at full hike. So when the car is at full hike or up on the bars this is when it is in the bypass.
