@@110100111000 Sidious would properly make up another conspiracy with false evidence and say to the people of the galaxy that the Senate were traitors of the Republic plotting to take over and then execute another order 66 against all of them as well.
@@petermills3814 considering he's "A man of plans within plans." -Alex Damon ru-vid.com/show-UCIKlsX1qfGqKPt4KAW-JOZg What do you, and the Lore Guy, think his plan to control Vader would have been if, unlike in canon, The Suit had been unnecessary and, as it was in canon, the survival of Anakin's children was not known by Sidious?
Cody, "Okay, so that's a 'no' just say 'no' next time around, it will save us all time in a 'war zone' and as such, I'll wait for it be 'legal' before I do this.
I have an idea for a "What if" scenario. What if Tup's biochip never malfunctioned? Thereby he never killed Tiplar, Fives never uncovered the truth and became a fugitive of the Republic, and never warned Rex, who never urged Ahsoka to look up his file, who would have very little idea what was happening when Order 66 happened. I think it would make an interesting alternative :)
A while back Lore Guy did a Rethink scenario where the clones were finished early (by five years). How about for another rethink scenario, what if the separatists made their move (attacked) five years earlier than they did in canon?
If it involves brutality killing younglings in cold blood then no it is not nothing justifies murdering children also what if the first order and final order used clones star wars:rethink
Not very legal, considering that they pretty much did genocide against a religious order. The attack on the Chancellor would’ve given him a lot of credit against the Jedi Leadership , but would’ve the Galactic Senate like to given trials to the Jedi and make a public opinion to sway on their side. Though Palpatine had the Media on his side and major public support so why not make a show how evil the Jedi became.
As much as hate it, the fact is anything can be "technically" legal. By bending rules, emergency orders, changing technicalities and manipulating information anything can be justified and legal.
I do wonder if there were two versions of Order 66 the one that Jedi saw and the one that Palpatine used. the one that was shown to the Jedi would be worded in such a way to not raise suspicion, it probably be outlined like this. Order 66: meant to be used against the Jedi that goes Rogue primary objective would be to capture alive to be brought back for questioning with the secondary objective to be that if capture is impossible authorization has been given to kill the Rogue Jedi.
The other big thing too was the public didn’t really respect the Jedi during these times. They were viewed in suspicion all the time. So the public and senate was easily manipulated into thinking the jedi was capable at doing this.
1: Palps had Emergency Powers; 2: the Jedi had failed to finish the war swiftly, they failed to prevent the Separatist Crisis, they failed during the Naboo Crisis, & they did a bunch of war crimes; 3: Killing the Jedi leadership was "necessary" since Palps & Anakin both saw Mace try to seize control of the Republic, they were traitors, they execute the Jedi Generals & Padawans across the galaxy & the Jedi in the Temple, the other Jedi fought back, they all had to be put down, they were traitors, they were failures, & the Chancellor, Security Council, & Senate (all fiercely loyal to Palps) with Emergency Powers deemed the Jedi a threat to Galactic security "It will be civil war without end."
And so they spoke And so they spoke The Order of the Jedi And now the Jedi weep over their halls and no one there to hear Yes, now the Jedi weep over their halls and not a Soul to hear
Although it may not be what people want to believe, but I think the order was quite legal. There were many different contingency orders within the Grand Army of the Republic, all of which were common knowledge and when Chancellor Palpatine was given emergency wartime powers, he could initiate any one of the contingency orders, one of which was Order 66. So regardless of whether our Emperor was the Emperor or Chancellor, he was well within the law to execute Order 66 for the betterment of the galaxy
There's a question that's always been bugging me if a Jedi left the order but was still in a commanding role would he still be executed for treason if he wasn't part of the Jedi
This led to this question. Do the people in the New Republic learned of Order 66 and the Clones Wars was orchestrated by Palpatine? After all, Luke knows his identity as Darth Sidious by that point.
I will admit that I am a bit bias because I absolutely hated the Jedi, but if you’re an emperor like an emperor in Rome it wasn’t too far fetched to eliminate those who would see you taken out from power. And more than anything it was almost a dictatorship. I don’t think the public cared if the Jedi lived or died, they were responsible for the war in many ways. You see throughout the clone wars just how hated they are. Plus they did attack the chancellor in an assassination attempt. So it only make sense that the entire order be condemned whether they agreed with it or not. Now I don’t think killing kids is right but I’m pretty sure those kids would have been turned to inquisitors had anakin and the clones not killed them. So I don’t know which fate is worse.
Scottish Star Wars is the best Star Wars. Lets not forget that Ewan Kenobi only loves the high ground cuz he's a highlander. Edit: The Senate is also Scottish
You don't murder kids. Palpatine could have said that children in the temple were evacuated, even though that was a lie. While Order 66 might have been legal, it should have been illegal to kill children who were very likley non combatants in the first place.
Too right my Imperial comrade. The Jedi were a kidnapping, warmongering cult using their powers on unsuspecting citizens (such as the infamous mind-trick)
