Yeah, but this spear in ancient relict, it was not mentioned to Toji, but to anyone who was his first user. So it is just bad design for fighting. And even if fisrt user was as strong as Toji, this slear is still ineffective in comparison with how it can actually be effective

Btw in the manga the spear look a bit different. The long blade part is more straight and looks like it would be more effective for slashing. The recreation you guys have look sick as hell tho. Great breakdown !

Even if it is broken, the innate design of the spear is really impractical. I guess reforging it into a nagniata could make it better but at that point it wouldnt even be the same weapon anymore.

It's not a genius design lol, the weapon is actually just broken, Toji just has the handle of it. No one actually knows what the real weapon looks like. Only reason he's swinging around a hilt with a broken blade is because of it's effect to bypass cursed techniques.

Fun fact: it's called a spear for a reason, it was actually a spear head with 3 heads but after a fight one of its head broke and it was then converted to a dager type sword and locked away in the Zenin estate, but Toji found it and took it for himself.
