Thank you man! I love it, nice power, looks pretty aggressive! 😄 I definitely wanna ride more! I just need to talk my buddies into getting a grom or something haha 😂 I thought the red was pretty stellar. Consider putting white down first if you want it to pop off the tire! The red by itself blends nice but the white should make it more vibrant on the black of the tire 🙂 What do you ride? Sport bike as-well or do you like something a bit different?
Hey. If you saw how to install these you’ll see they embed quite well into the tire rubber. If you aren’t too sure you can check out this video “ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PmFZ3GaMz1U.html “ and you’ll see when I first installed it and how. It’s lasted years the way I did it. When you clean your tires you don’t really have to scrub it typically, just spray it off so it shouldn’t be sanded off and it’ll likely last the life of the tire if you install properly 🙂
If you enjoyed the video, feel free to check out the channel for more content! 😄 ru-vid.com/show-UCCZnKA6D56zsjzEsrY-2aTA?view_as=subscriber Other wards have a good one!
I definitely don’t ride everyday. I’m up in Canada so I get maybe 4 month for bike season.. If I wanna ride when it’s cold 7 months maybe (pending snow + ice). 🥶 Sounds like you have a good time out there if your tires only lasting a year! Either that or you might wanna look into a tougher compound!
Based off what I’ve seen it seems like there’s tire pens and then there’s knock off tire pens. Have you seen any other kinds of methods other than? Thank you
What if you don’t like the outcome ? How do you remove it? Mine was done in red. I wanted a circle done around the tire they did the lettering . So how can I remove it ?
That’s a great question haha. I think I would personally tackle it with water and the brush. I’d just scrub it off. You may be able to use a chemical product instead of water for faster / easier results, but you’ll wanna make sure it’s safe to use for the tire and not gonna make the tire slick when you take it out for the next cruise around town. Hope my input helps a little, sorry I don’t have a perfect solution to that! haha
Its paint. How long do you think it withstands during burnout???? Coloured burnout can only be done with special tires where the rubber is mass coloured
I have had my bike for 3.5 years now as of this videos posted date 🙂 (Yes, same tire) I installed the tire penz roughly 6 months after purchase of the bike once summer came around. I thought this would be really cool to share as i wanted to know how long the paint would last as I didn’t know what to expect when I bought the penz. You can see how the tire paint looks and holds up after a duration driving with pavement, loose rubble/debris (after snow melts), and heavy rain conditions to see if it’s worth it. 😄 Hope that answered your question Jamie 😊
JiggyJinjo hey, Jig. Sorry for the late reply, you caught me going back to work the other day and I couldn’t find the comment after haha. I’m still planning on doing that video displaying the quality of the cheap tire paint pens. Life’s been pretty wild if you’ve seen any of the content that’s come out since this video was posted with us trying to buying a house, having a car stolen and some other things!!! My video that posted today kinda goes over everything, if your interested it’s posted up on my channel as of this morning “this is long overdue...”. I haven’t had the time or ability to prioritize that tire paint pen video due to the life events going on which is fairly upsetting but I do intend on covering it once our winter season ends and spring 2021 begins. If your interested in my content I’d love to have you stick around and potentially subscribe other wards I will have the links in the description of this video once the project is complete or on my channel likely under Rogue’s playlist! Sorry for the inconvenience! Have a great weekend!!! 😄
Hey! Subbed. I was just thinking about trying these out, they sell something similar at walmart, but i may just get the real thing. Last thing i want is to do all this work and be worried to have to redo it. Thanks for the video.
Jawan Bailey thank you man 🙏🏻 I appreciate the support! It definitely can be quite a bit of work applying so it is definitely hard to say whether it’s worth saving a few bucks vs buying the product that’ll cost more but likely last longer! I’ve heard quite a few people agree the tip of the tire pen is enough to make the purchase worth it as the pen tip is very good for applying paint properly vs competitors as well as you get a consistent paint with it typically instead of blotching. I’m glad you found value in the video and I hope to see you around in some of the other content on the channel!!! 😄✌🏻have a good one man
wow thats pricey! i think aliexpress have some cheap ones that goes 3-5usd for 11-12pens all different colors but if you want to buy a piece thats around .80c usd. for a single color.
I only used red. I haven’t been able to try it yet but I recommend to people if they want it to be super bright that they should put on white and than their colour on top of the white. However to get a good colour I believe I did 2 coats of just the red and 1 touch up coat. Using 1 pen per tire. When I installed the paint you see in this video above I actually made a video about install so I’ll comment the link under this and hopefully it helps or gives you a better idea of how I got mine to last so long. It is an older video so let that be known but the way I installed is still relevant 🙂 I hope this info helps you out! 🙂 I have links to all of the tire penz I could find in the description as well! 🙂
Tbh I haven’t had a chance to do that video yet! I will 100% be putting that video on the channel, life’s just been crazy and I unfortunately don’t have the ability to do that project currently. Hopefully soon! 🤞🏻
That's awesome, do they have good inventory??? Even online I have troubles finding most colours... The best price I can find is about $15USD but I also have to get them shipped. (Canada Problems...)
“You can almost go to any store…” What does almost going to a store accomplish? Oh, I guess you just say words and don’t hear what’s being said. This generation…
Dont use that cheap one. I had the same one and it sucked. The pen does not work well it from time to time gets cloged the tip and you have to push in and sometimes the paint just runs out like crazy. Plus it fades and cracks very fast. After 3 months its barely visable
Damn; that’s brutal. Thanks for the heads up! I think I might still use it just to document for others so they can literally see the difference but I’ll definitely be ready for when that happens now! 😄 thank you
Tamás Dohy and it still came off fast? Wow, that’s brutal man. I’ll have some tire penz on back order for when it sucks 😂 how easy was taking the stuff off? Steel brush or sand paper do a decent job?
@@DeoneSoBord i used the rough sanpaper to roughen up the surface so the paint has somthing to stick to but still lasted about a month or tow. than faded away and the brake dust made it very lightly brownish
Tamás Dohy damn! I would hate if it turned light brown on me! I’m curious what would be better, tire pen or tire vinyl when your applying a white..? I suppose I’ll figure it out at some point but I’m starting to think maintaining white might be tricky
Hi,new subscriber over here, Love your channel and the way u explain it!! Does tire pen works to draw at the bike fairing? Sory for broken english haha im living on the other side of globe
It's all good man haha. Thank you for supporting the channel! :) I haven't heard of anyone using the tire pens to paint fairings before. Tire pens are specially engineered for the purpose of going on the tire or other rubber, however paint is paint at the end of the day. I think you could likely get away with using it if you were determined enough however I would personally recommend just using spray paint instead. are you doing lines or painting the whole fairing???
@@DeoneSoBord most welcome and thanks to you to bro, i want to do doodle on my bike , , so it could considered as line right? I already try with spray paint, but well, when your hands are suck, the outcome came sucks to,hahaha, i try with airbrush, grafiti spray paint , and brush, but didnt do well, i only good at using pen/pencil,or marker hahah
@@Rqarte626 one of the other guys and I in the comments were discussing that the pens seem to be oil based so you’ll have to make sure that works with your project if you do wanna use the pens😃 that sounds like it’s gonna be a sweet project man! I think you could prob make the pens work, I have seen people use sharpie on their bike and than clear coat it aswell if that’s something that’d interest you!
Thanks for the comment Sean, can I ask what your main concern with the audio was? Appreciate the feed back, I’ll be going back later tonight and reviewing the sound clips 😄
Hey Bruce! I've looked into this question before years ago trying to figure out whether "Tire Penz" are acrylic or enamel and I haven't been able to find any direct information from the company ever! To best answer your question I looked around a little and read some articles. Although the brand doesn't specify I would like to assume that the "Tire Penz" are water based due to the finish they leave. Apparently water based is typically more reliable for durability and they may have primer mixed into the paint potentially. I also read that when oil based paints are used on rubber they actually won't cure properly and will remain sticky and gross forever without curing. I hope this helps you out with what ever your planning! Best of luck on your project! 😄👌
@@DeoneSoBord so I watched a vid of a guy testing Oil base verese Waterbase. on tires, and well oil base ruled . Seems correct being the tires are oil. Paint stuck longer, same cracking issues, and color faired better. I'm going with a Sparpie. As My acrylic jog washed off in 3 months......
@@brucegrimes7705 that’s what I was thinking too originally. Oil based would go good with a oil product. Glad you found the info you needed man, thanks for sharing your info. When you see how they come out feel free to let us know here. Likely soon someone would like to hear how it went for you! 😄
These tire penz are specifically made for rubber tires. I won’t speak for the cheap tire paint pens you can also find online as I’m unsure of the quality of the product for the moment but having used tire pens obviously haha, I would make a heavy assumption that it would function. Being a rubber tire formulated paint I don’t think it would have any issue adhering to other rubbers although as I state in the video, I highly recommend quality prep prior to application to increase the chances of the product lasting longer, as well giving it a scuffed surface to adhere to isn’t a bad idea! 🙂 Hope that helps! Can I ask what your using it on? I’m curious now haha. 😂
O1NKS that’ll be cool man, hope it works out for you! I’d maybe recommend a clear coat overtop if possible cause of all the friction you’ll prob want a protective later. Sweat, friction... a matte clear coat or semi gloss would prob come out really good ☺️😉
I’m testing dupli-color HOTTIRES paint as of today two tires with tirepenz and two with dupli-color HOTTIRES .i also will be adding glass . Prep is very important ! Thanks partner ! And God bless you lol for the sneeze hahaha. I will attempt a comparison video for u.
I always have some kinda bloopers at the end! Thought it could make the cut haha. 😂 That'd be awesome, I wanna see how the glass looks. I saw Tire Penz have a "Tire Penz Refect" that I believe is supposed to be the same idea that it's highly reflective to catch someones eye but haven't looked into that enough. I was thinking to do that on the side of my trucks tire lettering. Assuming the cheap markers work well on the bike tire I will likely use them as well as glass on my truck! Keep me posted on that comparison video, I'd be glad to check it out! 😄
Deone SoBord I have already done it to my truck and side by side , just finished wife’s car and the comparison. I’ll be getting the software I need to edit the clips to upload to RU-vid .
Howard Miller if your looking for the best editing software I’d recommend DaVinci resolve! I’d be running it but my computer isn’t aloud to download it haha. It’s so old and slow that the app literally says we Won’t let you download this app because it’s too slow of a computer 😂 it’s supposed to be highly efficient when you get used to it and it’s never going to crash. Premier crashes and I loose files atleast 6 times per video I make 😫
That’s cool dude! I’m 16 and just wondering if I put these on my f150 will it make me look like a ricer? Also will they wear down if I have a dirt driveway?
I don’t think it crosses the line of ricer yet 😉 we’d need to add some rgb headlights, pin stripes, and maybe a box spoiler for that haha. 😂 Depending where you install them they may be prone to more wear than other locations. I have driven back alleys and dirt roads quite a bit and often as it’s the only way for me to get to the main roads and I don’t feel I’ve noticed excessive wear. If you don’t keep it clean and originally install it properly it could be more likely to come off or darken the overall colour some 😄 I want to put it on my trucks tires as well but have just been too busy to make the video about it recently! I hope this helps you out! 🙂 you shouldn’t worry about “looking” like a ricer though man! The people that respect you and your build are the only people you should worry about. 😋
@@haydenhughes6958 yea it’s quite hard to find red in general. I have links to every pen I could find on Amazon in the description but I couldn’t even find red 😂
I painted the letters on one wheel on my 2004 silverado. Didn't use tire pens, didn't prep properly... but, before I drove it around, it looked really cool
@@DeoneSoBord yeah, in the grooves of the tire. There is glow in the dark nail polish and what not. I'm just a little worried that the nail polish dries out the rubber or something.
@@gusjeazer Based off a previous conversation I had in the comments here with a Bruce, you may want to see if the nail polish is oil based. If it’s oil based he discovered it should last longer and remain in better condition. I can’t imagine the nail polish being any worse on the tire than actual paint as far as drying out the tire or anything. I do have a few things I’ve kinda thought off the top of my head I’d like to toss your way just to think about. I’m not overly certain but I feel that the nail polish likes to harden to a solid surface rather than one that flexes as you hit bumps and such. I feel nail polish might be more prone to cracking or maybe even flaking off because it likely won’t flex the same as paint on the tire. I feel the cost associated with buying a tire pen is much lower than buying 2-3 nail polish containers. Not to say cost is everything but it is a consideration. I don’t know what it was called or where I saw it but there’s I believe a glow in the dark “esk” kit for tires like this. You’d have to do some digging online and it might even be discontinued but I think there was a pen where you would go over the paint you put down and it would glow. You could alternatively consider using glow in the dark paint that’s also oil based. You could spray it into a cup or something and use a paint brush to add it overtop. And if your really careful, I was also talking to a Howard Miller in the comments here and he used finely crushed glass inside the final paint coat to give it a shine or reflection. I think myself I would avoid the nail polish but you know Whats best for you. Feel free to leave a comment here on how things go so anyone else thinking the same thing knows how it went for you 😄 I hope my input helped!!! 🙂
@@DeoneSoBord thanks a ton, that helped a lot. I think I am going to try a little nail polish on an old car first. See how it goes. I have been looking for a pen with glow in the dark but haven't found anything. I think on a motorcycle, the glow would be an added safety feature, as well as just cool 😎 I'll also keep an eye out for oil based paint. Again, thanks a lot.
Not yet* I’ll 100% be doing the video at some point! 😋 I only have the 1 bike right now and winter hit so I wasn’t able to finish off the tire before the winter season! I’m assuming if I take it out for a trip or two this season I’ll have the cheap pens used before September and I’ll start testing them no later than next season! I’m thinking I may use half and half on the tire to compare them even better 🙂 sorry the vid’s not out yet 😔
So damn good man haha 😂 I had this song stuck in my head for weeks when I found their unknown albums!!! I got a copyright strike but totally worth it!!! 🥴😂😂
Back when I filmed the video they didn’t seem to be available on Amazon as I did a quick online search and I had the same problem 4 years ago when I ordered some (I coulda missed it maybe) By the time I edited the video and posted it I did find very few, (3 individual tire penz not kits likely) on amazon. After doing a quick search again today tire penz with shipping are still generally $20 CAD on amazon. On eBay I notice they have kits where on amazon it’s unclear. EBay kits still go for $45 CAD. If you wanna go all out with a 25 pack from tire penz it’ll go for $338 CAD I believe it said 😂😂😂 but hey it comes with the stainless steel brush! 🤷🏼♂️ Hope the info helps someone out, sorry the info wasn’t relavent when the video was filmed! 😄👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I have a few amazon links in the description below if you want to gloss over some of the items I found although I didn’t include the 25 set as I wouldn’t recommend it 😂 haha
