Day 4 of recovery: My left cheek is a bit swollen but other than that I’m fine. I still can’t fully open my mouth fully and occasionally bleed a little but it’s really minor. I eat soup twice a day and maybe a banana smoothie an hour before going to sleep. I’m really craving a big juicy burger or a crispy chicken sandwich or cheesy cheese fries or some birria tacos or just some potato chips

This guy (Daniel Choi) removed my wisdom teeth a few days ago (I'm 35 years old by the way). My experience was fantastic and Daniel and his staff were amazing! I highly recommend them. Had mine out today. About 13 hours after atm. Anesthesia is amazing. First time I’ve ever gone under, you don’t even realize your alseep. Best I can describe it is literally jumping through time. Great experience where I went. A little swollen on left side other than that just minor sourness. Nothing to be afraid of 👍

Got mine out bout a month ago it’s better when you’re not worried and out it. Gargle salt and water it helps the healing process. Use ice packs to stop swelling. Don’t be touching the stitches area because it will swell more because you are putting bacteria into it. Drink a lot of water, eat soup. Watch some anime and you will be coo👌🏽give it about 3-5 days and you will be back to chic fil a

I’m 17 years old and I got all 4 out 4 days ago with local anesthesia. The first day was painful not gonna lie, the extractions weren’t bad but the shots... 🤧 overall though it was fine I was nervous for no reason.

I’m 7 days after getting one top wisdom tooth out. I’ve had zero pain the whole time. The hole in my mouth is the only thing I’m worried about. I can chew anything, but I’m just so scared of eating something and screwing up my blood clot or something. Like I said I have no problem chewing. I even found myself chewing ice the other day. Had a a drink with a straw and took about five sips before going “shit I’m not supposed to use straws” lol. I just wish there was a definite answer on when I can go back to eating normally without worrying about messing with the healing. I’m 20 and had 4 of my wisdom teeth removed! I went under anesthesia and the swelling has gone down less than 24hrs of the procedure. The tea bags given helped the blood to clot and slow down the bleeding. The instructions given to me said about 3 days to recover but so far so good, hopefully it’ll heal sooner (:

Days 1 and 2 were pretty easy. Day 3 is when things got rough for me. I've had constant pain jumping around in my mouth but now finally settling back into my bottom left extraction site. Thought I was developing dry socket so called my surgeon. They said it was probably food trapped in there and to gently flush it out. If pain worsens, then to call them back tomorrow. I'm currently on day 4 and going to attempt to eat to take the 800 mg of ibuprofen and take the pain down.

Hello, all. If you're watching this before getting your teeth out, I want to reassure you that it's really not as bad as it's made out to be. I'm absolutely terrified of dental work and also a big wuss when it comes to pain/discomfort, and after about two days the only thing I felt was annoyance at not having my "normal" mouth functions. Don't smoke right away (I smoked three cigarettes after 72 hours and was totally fine), don't use straws, and be careful while brushing - you'll be fine. Good luck and speedy recovery!

It's my third day after wisdom tooth extraction. The procedure went smooth, with no pain due to local anesthetic. I did watch them put a drill in my mouth and how they first tore off the crown and then extracted the roots. But no pain. The second day was just AWFUL. I constantly threw up after every intake of my prescribed medication. The saliva became my bane for a day. Now, I can't chew but slowly starting to heal. Good luck to all those who are getting their teeth out in the future. You can do this!

Update! its officially been 2 weeks since my surgery and the gum pain is near gone. My advise to you all. ONLY EAT SOFT FOODS. WARM OR COLD! just try not eat where the holes are at in the extraction. Also make sure you brush your teeth and keep rinsing your mouth with warm salt water every night until your gum holes are permanently closed

I got all 4 of mine removed, the meds they gave me were so strong I was fainting and puking. Got some different meds, I stopped taking any thing for the pain on the second day after surgery still in a lot of pain but the ice pack really helps. Try not to smile too much and get as much sleep as you can. Food is definitely difficult but it’s day 5 and I can finally eat a piece of cheese!! It will be okay and don’t be nervous about the procedures you don’t have to do a thing! And hopefully the nurses and doctors are just as nice as they were for me.

3 weeks later, still hurting, 3 bouts of antibiotics at age 56. Feels like my ear is infected too

I’m on day 8, still have some pain but the swelling finally went down. Recovery is probably going to take a while ‘cause I’m 32 😩 There was bone removal as well. If you are young take them out now! Recovery will be quicker

I was 30 years old when I got all 4 taken out - 3 were impacted. No major pain afterwards. Just needed to apply ice for some swelling. 85% better by day 2. Returned to work after day 3.

I had an infected wisdom tooth removed 4 days ago and I'm still in pain. I get the other 3 wisdom teeth out on November 5th 😭 I'm 29 and wish I had done this 10 years ago.

Edit: I am 20yrs old. They said my bone was soft so, procedure was easier. I had an impacted wisdom tooth removal. Was fully covered by the gum. Procedure was painless, amazing. It's now 6 hours later, painful (also headache) and swelling... bleeding is reduced. My dentists were very very nice and just made me feel comfortable and much less afraid. Laid back procedure where they just chatted animatedly, which relaxed me a ton.

just had my second extraction and honestly it was a hard extraction compared to the first which was a breeze,my cheeks swollen/bruised, head ache. Feel like i will die

I’m a 30 year old whose just gotten all 4 wisdom teeth taken out PLUS both of second molars (6 teeth in total) extracted. This happened on Monday and it’s now Saturday and I’m still in a little pain. It’s hard to chew the softest of foods, so I’ve been on liquids since Monday. But I’m healing and that’s all that matters 🙂

If only i was missing it on the bottom and on top of all this one of my bottom one's was right on my nerve that could paralyze my face thank the Lord GOD. It’s been 4 days since I’ve taken all my 4 wisdom teeth out and I have no pain at all, still a bit of swelling, but no pain! The only real pain was the first 24 hours, but after that I’ve been fine.

I’m on Day 3, getting them out right before Christmas is torture :( so much good food but I can’t eat it! Haven’t needed any pain meds though. Highly recommend sleeping with your head at a nice angle, pretty sure that’s the reason I have it so easy right now.

day 6, still in a lot of pain. feels like Thor punched me in the jaw on one side and Hulk on the other. still can’t open my mouth that well. Not sure if i can smoke yet , haven’t tried but yeah still painful, still can’t eat normal

Update. It's been about a good week and 2 days since I have my wisdom teeth taking out. All the pain is gone. One of my stitches dissolved since that 7th day.

Day 3 into recovery... low sucks cause I can't chew yet but hopefully I can within the next few days.

On day 3. Sucks but the first two days were way worse. Pain is on and off. Cant open my mouth much. Able to eat some food but tiny bites with my front teeth. Another key to feeling better is also drink a lot of water!!! We should be doing this anyways but we all know some don’t lol keep hydrated!!!

Got mine out a couple hours ago. Only had local anesthesia for my procedure. Honestly wasn't bad, just make sure they numb your face correctly and thoroughly. My top two came out in 5 mins but the bottom ones were impacted and took about 30 mins each. Most painful part is when they cut your teeth into smaller pieces and they drill through your nerve, and even then it's pretty light. Just be brave, listen to some music, and you'll be fine

got mine removed 4 days ago, it was a horizontal wisdom tooth and i was awake the whole time. First 3 days are my worst days, my face are swollen and the pain won’t go away even with the painkillers. It’s my 4th day and i’m glad i feel no pain now, but i still refrain from talking cuz i dont want to mess up with the blood clot. i hope it’s this easy in my next surgery

I’m 15, I got mine out yesterday and I’ve been pretty good. Really want solid food though but for the most part I think I’m healing pretty good and been eating lots of yogurt, pudding, and I have jello. Also been sleeping a lot

I had all four of mine removed a week ago and the doctor said they were the most impacted and worst they have seen. The recovery honestly wasn’t bad. I am still in pain after a week but it’s not too bad now

My bottom 17 & 32 were partially bony my top 1 & 16 were impacted so I don’t feel much pain as the bottom.

I usually do know for lower wisdom teeth it’s typical to place bone graft membrane and sutures in some cases will oral surgery’s no place them ? And why wouldn’t they ? Another question would be if using a elevator say going around 18 to pull 17 would #18 guns eventually heal back normally or would it have a flap on the Buccal only asking because I did get mine removed and it does look like that ! And I did not get bone graft or membrane so just wondering on why some do and some don’t

i’m on day 6 and let me tell you i’m still in pain... Like when i open my mouth to brush my teeth PAIN. I can half open my mouth and i’m just ready to eat again. Also I’m still kinda swollen one one side of my face it’s like really hard and puts a lot of pressure on my jaw. Let’s just hope it’s swelling and not a infection. I’m taking antibiotics so i shouldn’t have one. But i’m miserable 😭

Day 3 on my impacted tooth removal, is it normal to see or have a tiny space in my gum where it was extracted? I see no visible bone and I'm worried about getting a dry socket so I've been careful when it comes to meals.

I just got all 4 out today the only thing is I don't like the fact I cant actually eat when I got them out earlier it really made me realize how much I love eating food and I'm happy I'm going into culinary arts for school here soon

Got all 4 of mine out 7days ago, General Anesthetic, and I barley eat anything because I don’t like having to flush and I’m also VERY worried about getting foods stuck in the socket. I just want the hole to close up so I can eat a burger💀! But So far the only “pain” I’ve experienced is stiff jaw and and some bad headaches (days 5&6). But nothing other than that.

Man, compared to everyone else in reading I’m lucky. I’m 34 and I got my 4 wisdom teeth pulled on Weds. no stitches required and I didn’t have drilling. He just pulled while I was knocked out. I’m still taking antibiotics. But by day 3 I stopped the pain meds, didn’t need it. No swelling what do ever. I would still ice pack and heat pack anyways just to keep ahead of swelling chances. Of course I’m keeping to liquid/soft foods and cleaning my mouth with a special prescription rinse.

Just got all 4 out today and it went amazing! No pain, bleeding stopped eventually, hell not even acting strange after anesthesia.

I’m in pain as I’m writing this, got mine out today and boy I was able to feel the top one get pulled. I’ve never been in so much pain, I’m traumatized.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed 6 days ago, the swelling is still there my face is like a Roblox. But it has definitely improved since day one. And so did the pain. I still can’t chew or close my mouth and the side of my tongue just feels burned like when you drink a hot beverage…I can’t eat anything that’s not liquid. Still soar and in pain just sleep and taking my recovery meds for the whole pat few days. The bruising scared the shi of of me, but I think this is all normal as it is going down with the swelling my face becoming softer and softer everyday. I was hopeful that it would be easier from the comments so don’t always expect sunshine and rainbows 🌈

Sore throat, sore jaw bone etc. Horrendous things, these wisdom teeth. I've I had wisdom, in hindsight, I wouldn't have any 😂

I’m 21 and on day 4 and almost halfway to day 5 (~104 hours). One was impacted and the other three were erupted. I’m able to chew without pain but I am cautious as I don’t want dry socket. Laughing hurts and I miss food lol.

i am 21 years old when i got my impacted wisdom tooth extracted, and my recuperation was fast, no swelling after the procedure and the bleeding halted 2days after the extraction. And it seems like a normal day to me after the extraction, the only thinf that bothered me after the procedure was the effect of the anaesthesia, well, im not able to speak well, but after 2hours, the anaesthesia is gone and, back to normal again.

Just had my wisdom tooth pulled. About 8 hours ago. To be honest it was not as bad as I thought and this is coming from a guy that is super anxious and overthinks things. I was awake throughout the procedure and it’s nerve wrecking feeling the pressure and noises. But I felt no pain at all. I have pain now but it’s super bearable, if I needed to measure the pain I would say 4/10. Bleeding stopped about 2 hours after I left the office but just very minimal. I’m actually eating chicken soup but not hot, just room temperature. Hoping I’ll be good in the next couple days, want to get back to working out mostly. If you’re reading this and your nervous, you will be fine and won’t be as bad as you think.

I got my wisdom teeth out 4 days ago and i’m honestly feeling great! I feel like I can comfortably eat. One side is a little more sensitive than the other so if I have to chew, I chew on the less painful side. Can’t completely open my mouth but almost!

Serious question: Does this happen to anyone else? I had all four wisdom teeth removed around 3 years ago, but my scars still hurt and sometimes bleed. I had stitches for a few weeks but the healing process went as expected. Nothing out of the ordinary. This pain did not start happening until maybe a year later.

I am on night 4 , I got all 4 of my wisdoms out all were fully impacted & very close to my jaws bone. I had to be sent to an oral surgeon out of town. I had to get stitches on my bottoms I can barley open my mouth STILL. I have been in soo much pain since very swollen and now my right lower side is hurting more . I’m praying it’s not dry socket I’ve done everything possibly right . Calling my oral surgeon in the morning!

I got all 4 of mine out a week ago and my jaw is just starting to feel more flexible but it's still painful once the meds wear off. I legit feel like my whole jaw is on fire and all my teeth are going to fall out. I've been doing everything for the healing process. Take my meds, constantly rinse my mouth after every meal, eat soft foods (starting to incorporate other things like non-toasted bread and baked potatoes instead of mashed) but OMFG i just want this to end so I can eat whatever i want!!!!!!!

It's been four days since I've removed all four wisdom teeth and had no swelling or pain. My surgeons told me that my swelling would peak on day three... my face feels like it was pre-surgery. Is this normal? Will this calm come back to bite me with vengeance? I remember waking up after the surgery loaded on drugs and trying to talk to the doctors with a numb jaw haha. They told me everything I could find on the internet and to follow their instructions. I'm still paranoid about getting a dry socket... hope this next week will still be kind to me

I just got one of mine removed today. The worst part was the extraction tool pressing down on my lip into my teeth, the actual extraction was painless.

Got 3 of my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and I thought “oh this isn’t that bad” but I’m currently going into day 3 and my face is literally big asf on one side (the side I got top and bottom removed). The other side feels like nothing even happened to me. I can eat better on that side as well with little to no pain. I’ve been able to keep it under control for the most part, just annoying aches here & there. Can’t imagine if I would have gotten all 4 pulled at once tho.

I got my bottom right tooth removed, I must say I was having a panic attack. Got 3 injections and he was moving the siringe around injecting little by little in diff places. Did not feel the tooth being taken out, however I was annoyed that I was so numb I couldn't close or blink my right eye , I didn't want to see the dentist using his tools.. I have this thing I put I put on my tooth every 3 hrs to stop the bleeding, Hopefully I don't get. a dry socket, I just ate and drank ginger ale, did not brush my teeth or rinse it, im scared to do something wrong. You keep mentioning jaw bone removal in order to extract the teeth. How does that work and will it heal and return the jaw back to normal ? I’m afraid my wisdom teeth removal is going to be a nightmare because I’m in my 30’s and they’re impacted.

Got my 4 removed today at the age of 29 (they started growing sideways into my mouth) was totally terrified of the idea of going under but after today I highly recommend it, it was like having a 5 second procedure and I don’t really have much swelling, The only thing that sucks is taking pain medicine and not being able to eat much isn’t the greatest combination

However, I’m noticing this bad breath even after I thoroughly irrigate, floss and brush. I have all my clots still. Btw my dr didn’t give me antibiotics. Just pain killers. All I took was 2 ibuprofen and haven’t taken any since then.

I am 17 and I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed 2 days ago. When I was at the hospital to get mine removed they told me it would take my mouth 2 or so weeks to heal. My mouth is delayed. One of my wisdom teeth was growing on a nerve. When I woke up from general anesthesia I was choking/coughing with the gauze in my mouth, my mother was worried because the BP or something was increasing. The hospital gave me some long white looking sock to sandwich bags of ice into to help with swelling, I tried today but it didn't help. p.s. I am from Canada.

day 4 post op got all 4 removed , I didn’t have any pain just when the anesthesia wore off. day 1 i ate pizza not recommended woke up in pain but other than that i haven’t had any pain just ready for the holes to close and be able to eat real food that isn’t apple sauce or yogurt

Just had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out. We did pay extra to stay numbed for 2-3 days. One side is bleeding quiet more then the other. Left bottom wisdom teeth was impacted. But other that feeling great! Hard to drink since I can’t feel my bottom lip but no pain.
