He tried to hurt a fan. He should be banned for life. If you put some weight on the punishment, people will generally better weigh how they conduct themselves with others. Hopefully, he will learn because acting like a gentleman in society is much bigger than playing basketball.

Pacer fan here and I’d give him a huge fine(not sure what that is in today’s NBA) and I’d suspend him the first 20 games after he signs with a team. I think that’s sufficient.

I think it's too late for him to go the racial route...as he said the group of fans was heckling their bench all night....look at how the other Bucks players responded to him throwing the ball (Giannis went over and shook the hand of the dude in the Pacer's jersey)....looks pretty much like it was just normal heckling and he got in his feelings.
That's all fair game heckling that's been going on forever. They weren't making fun of his family or saying something racial. They were just saying he sucks and he's going to Cancun, that kind of heckling is a fan's right to boo teams and make fun of them, it's part of the game.
@@poisondragonslayer Malice at the Palace - a fan actually threw something that hit a player to strike out at them. The woman he hit in the side of the head had nothing to do with any of it - she was just watching the game. It was an unprovoked assault by Pat Bev in her case.

The precedence set by this commissioner on the despicable acts of Draymond Green and Ja Morant makes me believe that what Beverley receives in fines and suspension should in fact be doubled in punishment.
These players are employees of the NBA and the fans are the paying customers. I am an employee for costco and our members are paying customers. If i throw something at a memeber i can kiss my job goodbye, why are the athletes not held to the same standards. Literally ridiculous.

He will likely get just 5 to 10 games, though I think it should be longer. What I will be interested to see is whether anyone signs him (assuming the Bucks release him for his antics). He has played on some good teams, but overall has not contributed much to those victories. And remember when he told Steph Curry "You had the last five years, the next five years are mine!" Well, that five year span ended with him disrespecting that female reporter AFTER three first-round exits, a second round exit and a run to the Western Conference Finals by the Clippers that came about when Ty Lue decided to remove Beverley from the starting lineup. It should be noted that run also ended when Lue decided to put him back in the starting lineup and Beverly decided to push CP3 in the back because he stole his lunch. And to add insult to injury ... Curry added a fourth title to his résumé. But a great five years Bev ... LOL!
I'm incredibly pissed off at how tame everyone is being when commenting on this. He hit a fucking fan in the face with a basketball, a fan who was simply spectating the game. If that woman threw the ball and hit a player in the face...what would the response be? She'd be in handcuffs, labeled all sorts of names and find herself an outcast.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was the 2nd player to get banned this year. I mean, you could argue that throwing a ball in the stands and hitting a paying customer is on the same level as betting on the game.

His playoff numbers he’s been a part of losing way more then he’s been a part of winning and he’s never eclipsed double digit scoring in any playoff series. As for the cheap shots and other nonsense he’s taken guys out under the basket which is very dangerous and always slight built guys without an attitude in other words easy targets he can pick on.
