TIA are typically brief and any symptoms would have resolved by the time that you're seen by a medical physician. Classically, TIA last minutes or maybe an hour or two but they tend not to last longer than that. The classic and traditional definition is less than 24 hours but by the far majority last less. If symptoms persist longer than that, really they're in the realms of a stroke and you're talking then about how do we manage some of the disability that's been left.
