Honestly thank you for still posting this even though it was tough to get through. I often see people only posting the "good parts" of a sentro and I often get incredibly frustrated with mine because it frequently doesn't like the yarn I choose to work with. And I thought I was the only one who frequently had issue 😂

Nah i have an addi and it hates over half the yarn i try with it, it technically works better with a 3 weight but it comes out so loose tension so i keep trying different 4 weights

wholeheartedly agree. I thought I was the only one too! the ones i've found that work good for my 48 pin are Pound of Love and Mandala Cakes (they're great for scarves!)

@@angieisadork yes those are the two that work for me as well! I can use impeccable (sometimes) if it's one of the thinner colors. I've noticed the weight of that yarn varies a lot

👍. I love them all. But if I had to choose, Gray or Plum would be the colors. And I'm glad you kept going. I am 62 years old & love your content. Good days or bad days, you are fun to watch. 12 a.m. & getting ready to watch a toturial on making a hat. Would love to see you make more of these ear warmers. Maybe in Orange & Sun Yellow, or Orange & black. Maybe Red & Green for Christmas. I said a prayer that your machine does not act up again on you. 😁🙏🏻. P.S. Would love to see it in Rainbow if you can. Blessings to you & your Love. 🤗❣️.

When people say that machine knitting is cheating I want to show them this. The level of expertise and skill required to know which yarn to choose, how to thread the machine, when to quit and choose a different material…not to mention the physical work of operating the machine and sewing up the finished product…it’s a lot. You’re a boss, Kelsie!

I recently got a sentro and was sooooo excited about it, it was very frustrating for me to deal with these kind of problems because apparently nobody talks about them when recommending the machine! I admire your patience and think that nine is a great number for a day of work, especially under such disappointing circunstancies. girl, you deserve tons of ice cream and a million strawberries.

1 - Keep a can of compressed air (found at most computer or office supply stores) at the ready and blow out the Fibre dust that builds up often. 2 - wash hands and put a very very thin layer of hand lotion on. Like smaller than a pea. 3 - A small diffuser running near you will also help. Static is one of the biggest culprits to dropped stitches if it's not the yarn choice.

Sarah from Crochet Vision dropped a video not too long ago with her sentro and addi machines, and she adds sewing machine oil to the pins which she said helps the machine run smoother... could be worth a try? I would've rage quit well before 9!

Hi Kelsey, I have an Addi circular machine with an electric motor, i make these ear warmers, hats and scarfs on it. what i find is with some yarns having weightson the knitting helps stop dropping stitches. i have a table with a hole cut in the centre for the knitting to drop through as that helps, also pulling down the knitting every so offten helps too. Dont know if this will help you at all but i wish you luck. I love your videos, Ceasar and Negie too. It makes my crocheting - knitting days pass quicker. Sage green is my fav, 9 is pretty impressive and it was a good video. xx

Yes! Weights are really important for machine knitting. I'm a hand knitter, but my mum was a machine knitter for decades when I was growing up. I think for a sentro or any circular machine, some evenly spaced claw weights would help a lot.
@nicolacarter5277
@nicolacarter5277 День назад
@@susanjones5274 yep I have weights that I need to use with certain yarn plus I always roll my project into a donut,when it reaches the table, this stops the project bunching and pushing it up and off the teeth and helps keep an even tension around the barrel, less dropped and tucked stitches

iv had several. Sometimes the machine is quality and others were not. I find that my most recent ones are of lesser quality. My old one was completly worn out after 2 years of making tons of hats and scarves. My newest one cant handle anything. The Addi isnt much better breaking on me after 1 pannel. Never again. Now my Ultament Sweater machine on the otherhand, Shes an old girl but she WORKS. i mean my USM slays and i got her from Goodwill for $100. She has a learning curve but iv actually made sweaters and pannels with no issues. Shell eat through most yarn and dosnt break if the yarns "too rough". Beta Sentro and Addi VS Chad USM 😂😂😂

If you grab the inner bottom of tube as you go and kinda roll it up from the inside without pulling up from the pegs, it helps it not drag the table and pick up to where it drops stitches from the pushing up from table of bottom of tube. Just a helpful tip. Took me forever to figure that out and it's a life saver.

Hello Kelsey, I use a dryer sheet up between the tensioner and the guide before spinning pegs...if that makes sense. I wrap it around the yarn there and use a black metal paper clip to fold sheet in half and just let it float silly. It keeps my stitches from dropping. I have also used one of those like glue drop looking ear plugs (not sure of real name but they ate clear and you can stretch it out like gum from their drop shape) I place it up right where the yarn goes into the guide at the top so the yarn runs over it. You have to reform it every so often but tlit helps keep the yarns from dropping stitches as well. :)

I have an Addi and the 48 Sentro. I had some problems in the beginning with Addi, but what I found is that it LOVES Big Twist, but I also found that I have to have the tensioner. I also use this little craft clips I got from the Dollar Store. Lastly, I found a little portable diffuser that I stock inside the ring of the machine and that helped so much. I've not used my Sentro much at all because it feels so light.

I re watched so many tutorials. It really is fussy about the yarn it has in it. I actually made a scarf with no waste yarn out of pure frustration! I have found that Caron simple soft, yarn bee soft and sleek, yarn been chunky soft and sleek, and Lion Brand thin Mandala works well on my sentry. But they all drop stitches no matter what. I have 20, 32, and 48 pin sentry, and a 40 pin Loops and Threads. For my birthday and mother's day my son got me the 46 pin Addi and it is like night and day. I rarely drop a stitch and it works like a dream. I never thought the difference would be as much as it is. I will never use the drill on my Addi. The only thing that would have made this video better is you throwing the Sentro out the window…! (Just kidding!) I must say, I truly admire your perseverance, Kelsie. You are a “winner” in my book! P.S. I personally like the plum and the half & half ear warmers the best!

9 is good. Things take time, and stuff happens! A lot more than if you handknit them! They all look good!

I don’t know it dropping stitches can be helped by weighing down the scrap yarn before starting the new color but i would try that and see if it does anything ❤
