Today we have another drawer warrior on the bench, a late 1940's triple calendar moon phase from the not very well known brand Pierce. Join me for a full service of this old watch, with a running count of hairs found in the movement and a couple of very strange surprises!
As always we'll have a couple of detours which are only randomly connected to watchmaking, including a discussion of Neymar junior :)

This was a fascinating video, Stian, especially how you explained the relationships between the wheels in the triple complication. The engineering ingenuity in finding the simplest ways to achieve complex functions is remarkable. It is one of the fundamental qualities of vintage watchmaking. Btw, do you deduct from your assistant's wages the price of the pilfered ice cream sandwiches?
@VintageWatchServices
@VintageWatchServices Год назад
Thanks Bullnose! You're spot on that finding the simplest solution to complex problems is the essence of good watchmaking. And yes, it's basically a zero sum game. The scarcely paid child labor I encourage is balanced by them buying stuff with their earned money that I would otherwise have given them for free 😁
