Thanks for your hard work and taking time to catalog it on RU-vid. I grew up on a 30 acre dairy goat farm. We also had cattle, chickens, and rabbits. We dried up our goats in the mid-80s when we started to travel overseas. I became especially interested in how the rest of the world works, since up to that point I was only exposed to American farming and as it relates to livestock. Your channel exposes me to ways of doing things which broadens my understanding and help me encourage my kids to go see the world like I was able to during my youth. I appreciate your thoughtful commentary and I look forward to seeing many more.

I hope small Swiss farms stay... Don't know exactly what that means either in terms of how that happens but I hope it does.

Something that we began doing was once a day milking. We took the calves off at night and placed them in a separate pen. In the morning we milked the cows and then let the calves on the mother for the rest of the day. We skipped the evening milking. This way if we needed to go anywhere we were able to leave the calves on indefinitely. If you're doing it for money, granted, you aren't able to sell as much but we've found that this method was so much healthier for cow and calf. As for the chickens and other feathered friends it was much easier. Setting up food and waterers for several days is pretty simple. Then all we had to do was hire someone knowledgeable to check in on them. However, it's not easy. You have to be really dedicated and love what you do.
