Funny, I am allergic to appreciation. The only way I can afford the 1997 Acura CL 3.0 Premium that I have now is depreciation from a $52k car (adjusted with inflation) to a $1500 (as purchased 4 years ago) car. Thanks to depreciation, my favorite Lexus and Acuras are all within reach.

My guess it that there are more money tied up in Ferraris that there are of all the other million dollar cars combined. Mercedes with the 300sl family alone may be surprisingly high, they made a boatload of those considering the era, plus there a bunch of hits here and there during the decades. These are the two expectations I have for your next video!

Just going by inflation for the last 40 years $1,000,000 should be a little over $3,089,000 today. Part of what is fueling this nonsense is cheap money. 40 years ago you were paying 15% interest if you had good credit. Even right now 15% is for people with a 600 FICO and if they can't come up with a meaningful down payment they probably aren't getting approved at all. With excellent credit you can still score less than 5%. My CU is doing as low as 4.54% right now. When money is cheap it fuels this crap. When we also have record inflation to go along with it...we get stupid like $50,000,000 cars.

Inflation has to be taken into account when this list is thought of. A million dollars doesn’t go as far as it did in the 80’s. There’s also limited number cars that can start at 1 million it kinda skews the numbers. I think a window or a cut off should exist. Say 20 year old cars and older should be considered. Bugatti isn’t making a $500k car, so every car they make is added to the list? Interesting list but in these days, when a Toyota minivan can top 60k, it might need to be cars that reach $2 million 😂

The truth of the matter is there are very very few hobbies can bring financial benefits beyond personal enjoyment aside. Certain car collection are those rare exceptions.

This is honestly kinda fascinating to me. Like, you are interested in the car BECAUSE it's worth that much? Like, you couldn't care less about what the car is, but because it's worth that much, it's of interest? I don't understand that at all.... but.... it does make a certain level of sense for people who are attracted to famous people and that sort of thing.

I think that, for me, I'd lose some amount of interest in the car if it was a high dollar value.... that's just more risk in a depreciating asset. I guess it's a good thing that I tend to fall in love with cheap 80s cars. :D

Maybe an investment in a big money car isn't as prosperous as the stock market. But on the flip side at least you'll never lose it all on a vehicle investment. Plus you'll get the joys of owning, collecting and driving these beautiful cars!

Just make sure you buy really good guaranteed value insurance lol. No insurance company is just going to want to willynilly pay out on a 1+ million dollar car. So that would be a way to lose all of it on a vehicle investment lol.

The problem with those cars, is that maybe a perfect condition, low mileage can reach that, but a vast majority of those cars have been driven to the ground or modified a lot, and those cars will never be a million dollar

Doing my best to make sure my 2 valve 308 never goes up in value by modifying and driving it constantly. I guarantee I get more enjoyment out of my ride than these billionaires who use cars as money laundering investments. Makes me sad for the artists that created these cars. These money themed vidoes are far less interesting than Rabbit telling a story
