I Herby apologise to the Australian people and the brave soldiers that fought in the war to rid their island of one more abhorrent remnant of Hell on earth.
Here's a neat history fact involving shooting people: During a speech, a man attempted to assassinate President Theodore Roosevelt by shooting him in the heart. Roosevelt, being a skilled hunter, knew the bullet didn't hit anything vital, since he wasn't coughing up blood. This was because of the steel glasses case in his breastpocket, as well as the script for his speech he folded in half, taking most of the damage. With the bullet still in his chest, he gave the rest of his speech before seeking medical attention. People began to joke about how he only survived because of his habit of long winded speeches, making the script a hundred pages thick when folded.
Can we talk about his trigger discipline? Every time he shot he took his finger away and most of the time even checked the barrel. He obviously listened to the safety instructions. Very well done!
@@PoshBeard no it's for casing being ejected and back splash from s direct blow back .22. if it were a bolt action or lever action the yeah fine for go the eye pro. Semi auto necessitates eye pro.
@@epluribusunum6622 good call. He should have been wearing some sort of safety glasses or other form of eye and ear protection. Though that has nothing to do with his trigger discipline. At least he got down the most important rule of gun safety. Baby steps I guess...
For those wondering why he was able to easily cut kevlar but it can stop bullets, kevlar is designed and woven in a way that is meant to stop sudden fast moving objects. It sucks against anything that cuts or applies constant piercing pressure because cutting destroys the weaves and constant pressure will find it's way through the gaps in the weave.
My man has no chill. Making a joke about William's mom being hot is something half the youtubers would do but brother you took things further than anyone else would. 6/5 well done.
@@tencents49 there was a recent video of his where he was crying and talking about comments on RU-vid where you mentioned buying it and feeling bad about it
My brother was at a party that got raided by a gang once. He hid in a very heavily-packed closet, wherein a stray bullet found its way. 21 shirts stopped the bullet. He didn't come out completely unscathed though, as one of the assailants stabbed him with a beer bottle. He's fine, but does have a scar. Yes, we live in America.

Just recently came across this channel, it’s quickly become one of my favorites!! I can see why over 4 million people are subscribed. Great mix of ingenuity, and ridiculousness with a touch of common sense. So much time put into things destined to fail but usually has a great point of why some things just don’t work. Oddly enough I just realized that I watch several channels, all so different from one another except for the fact they are all from Australia! I wonder exactly how many RU-vidrs are in Australia in comparison to other places? Anyway thanks for the great content and entertainment! Take care
@@Ididathing Thank you very much for reading my comment and replying. I truly appreciate it. I’ve long thought about starting a RU-vid channel. It’s a difficult decision to make, on what exactly the channel would be about. I would hope to have a channel that is well liked of course, but it has to have a future. I have to create something that people will always want to see what’s next. I also would like to do something that would help people in some way. I would hope to have something that’s entertaining as well as educational in some way. It’s something I think about often. If you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again, I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I’m a welder and create different things from repurposed materials. I saw your welding and it looked good to me. Your welds only need be sufficient for the job your doing. Thank you. Take care.
Just FYI for anyone reading this, not all bulletproof vest are also stab proof For Kevlar to be stabproof, it has to be more tightly wooven than the Kevlar used for bulletproof vest What stops bullets is different than what stops knives
Fun story - long term chest compression can result in a phenomena similar to "shallow water blackout" in which you're not getting a full breath of air, constantly falling a little bit behind on respiration and eventually passing out.
You can kind of feel it start to happen after a heavy weight has sat against your chest or you sleep on your belly. Next time you fell that funny feeling like your lungs are being held against filling all the way, try to overcome it. It's really bizarre feeling like the weight is still there pressing your chest. Normally you aren't exposed long enough for such things to be permanent but a ton of shirts could potentially do it.
What people don't normally think of when it comes to bullet proof materials, is the freaking punch you will still get and you can still be seriously bruised
Years ago I tried making Canadian pellet gun grade armour. Turns out, unless you're using steel or laminated fabric in epoxy, a .177 at 480fps is surprisingly penetrative
The reason the 22 were going through more layers is because each time you puncture one, it loses a lot of it's ability to catch another one, something about the tension in the fabric being released or something. Not entirely sure though, but I'm sure someone below will correct me
I️ was reading this and the first half had me concerned because ear protection is important but then I️ realized it was a joke about Alan’s voice being loud
I was worried this whole time cause while I didn't expect him to test the apron with it on his body, I also would not have been surprised in the slightest if he did do that
Judging by what Alex has done in the past I was starting to doubt that he wouldn't shoot himself. Oh and the bacterial zoo of kitty litter may be a lot more dangerous than you think
Layering fiberglass cloth held together with epoxy resin can make some surprisingly effective body armor. In the video I watched, it was able to take multiple hits from every handgun they fired at it. It was just as effective as any armor you can buy. Wasn't much bulkier or heavier either. Rifle rounds ripped through it like paper, but it was still pretty impressive.
As a 62 year old woman, why do I get so excited by your videos? Because I love them My thirteen year old inner tomboy, is still in me! Lol. Keep them coming, please. Greetings from Dimboola, in Victoria.

Small remark about what you said at about 5 minutes in: Kevlar is resistant to bullet impacts, but very much not to cutting/stabbing. There's different materials for that.
If you’re wondering how a simple nail or scissor blade can penetrate through the Kevlar, it is because Kevlar is designed to stop bullets (or at least slow down its velocity) by acting as a super stretchy net that catches and decelerates the bullet like a soccer ball flying into the goal net. Running any piercing weapon like a spear will easily penetrate the Kevlar, since it can pass through the microscopic gaps between the Kevlar fibres.
@@boredchild6631 Kevlar vests are at most stab-resistant if there are trauma plates or polyethylene sheet "fish plating" to deflect the stabs, at the cost of more weight and less flexibility
"If it didn't go through the back shirt, then we just need like, double this many shirts!" Is some of the most bullet proof logic I've ever heard in my life.
I love how your content has genuinely only gotten better and bigger, keeping the same style and charm since the beginning that hasn't vanished with greater success. You're one of a very few, I and many others will always appreciate you doing.. your thing :)
The .22 is common in America for plinking. You know, target shooting, recreational stuff. Almost nobody carries .22s as defensive (or offensive) weapons, though.
You can make body armor with epoxy, sheet metal, and marine fiberglass sheets. I'd suggest layering until you have a plate that's about 1.5-2 inches thick. That should stop most conventional handgun calibers (9mm, .45ACP, .38 Special, .22LR, etc)
Well the solution is to get all the kids wearing level 3/4 body armour as a school uniform for all schools in America. That way, the police can slack off(cover in fear) even more outside, while there is an active shooter in a school (uvalde incident)
The Kevlar was easy to cut because it isn’t meant to stop blades or other weapons that have low kinetic energy it’s only meant to hold up against fast moving projectiles
No, and yes. It’s a fabric, a textile, which means it is vulnerable to shear, which is exactly what a sharp knife foes. However, it is extremely strong in tension, which is gonna be the resultant stress of a blunt bullet. In the same vein, it would also protect you against a pick strike which would pierce plate armor, since the tip won’t be small enough/sharp enough to pierce between the fabric’s fibers or cut them. But you are ultimately wrong because an ESAPI ballistic vest is meant to stop rifle round, not low kinetic energy impact, but it’s still a centimeter thick hard ceramic plate, so good luck piercing it with anything else than a rifle round.
I love that it's just become an unspoken law: whenever foreign RU-vidrs come to America, they MUST do a video with guns Edit: I am sorry to everyone with eyeballs for starting this thread. I did not have the foresight to see what it would become.
@@hellishcyberdemon7112 Yeah, the whole “im not American thus i must make fun of school shooting” stick is getting old very fast. Especially when they suggest solutions that fell apart the last 4 times

@@Ididathing looks like you were having some good fun at the range, hope you got to shoot some of the rifles, an AK would be fitting since your time in North Korea
If you are wondering why the Kevlar didn't work for the other guns. You essentially made light body armour. For a heavier armour, a steel plate goes in front of the Kevlar.
Just a tip if you ever do this again you should layer the Kevlar with another material, I've seen something as fancy as carbon fiber to something as simple as old potato bags. Basically you want to strengthen the Kevlar by turning it into a composit. as well as you should have sown all the edges of the Kevlar and the apron together.
@@somefish9147 The point I was making is that after one or two hits - it's supposed to be replaced as it is no longer rated to be able to stop what it was intended to stop - it is SIGNIFICANTLY weaker, as the strength comes from the tightness of the threads; the impacts stretches them.
Really neat video. Curiously, your initial reaction and concern about the material not being Kevlar due to being able to cut it is an actual issue. Kevlar is a remarkable material but due to the nature of how it's woven, is vulnerable to pointed object capable of going through the material and damaging individual fibers rather than the collective strength of the fabric. Non-Newtonian, shear-thickening fluids (same concept as oobleck) are used to withstand these, as they 'thicken' proportionally to the shear force applied. As such, if someone attacks with a knife or scissors, the fluid will thicken in response. You could still get around it by slowly stabbing, reducing shear stress, but if by then the person will have time to react and move away form the blade
Nice to see you doing crazy stuff again, always a pleasure. I've been watching since the tampon gun, and you've only gotten better. Much love from canada my dude
I rewatched this video again after binging William osman and knowing who Allen is and omg they are so wholesome in this video I love how enthusiastic Allen Pan is about this experiment
He was horrified at how easy it was to puncture the kevlar, but kevlar isn't actually difficult to stab through. It'll stop bullets no problem, but not knives.
Pretty impressed with how not-nervous you are for your first firearm experience. Clearly you have some form of instructor on hand (or youtube) because you’re holding those pistols almost perfectly and the accuracy is pretty good. Come to Texas, bring Daniel Ricciardo.
I can't think of a safer place to work than a gun shop. There's a reason you're made to bring firearms into the shop in a case. The first thing the person behind the counter does is make sure the firearm is unloaded. My local store has a "jar of shame" of rounds that have come out of "unloaded" firearms. If you attempt to walk in with a gun in your hands you'll be asked to leave. If you draw a firearm from a holster in the store you'll have every ccw in the store pointed your way. As an employee you don't have much to fear. Just enforce the rules with no mercy, treat every customer as if they're about to negligently discharge their firearm. Treat every firearm you handle as if it were loaded. You'll be alright. Congrats on the new job!
I really appreciate the clear gun safety, finger off the trigger, gun always down range, hell handed off to a friend(that presumably knows handle the firearm) before moving down range
