Massive Entertainment is one of Ubisoft's most prolific studios. With over 25 years under their belt, they have worked on everything from real-time strategy games to open-world Avatar games. All of their experience and expertise has been leading up to Star Wars Outlaws, one of the first true open-world Star Wars games.

Massive Entertainment’s Avatar Frontiers of Pandora was absolutely fantastic, the most stunning graphics this console generation in my opinion, super excited for Star Wars Outlaws, open world Star Wars is a dream come true. 😊

Agreed, it felt like you played something alien and strange. They completely captured the feel of Pandora, if you played through it then you know how much different the game plays when you level up your character. Shooting and taking down settlements was so much fun! I'm still playing it, I love that game. Star Wars Outlaws looks even better.. I'm actually blown away by Outlaws and its third person view, something that wasn't a good idea on Avatar unfortunately. Tomorrow is the day!

Most people simply forget that Ubisoft isn't just Ubisoft, there are way more teams and studios to it. Sure they all share the same Mother-Corp. But apart from that, each Dev team and studio is on its own, their own people, strenghts, weaknesses and styles. And Massive is one of the best if not THE best Studio/Team inside of Ubisoft. So far for me not a single game made by them was bad imo.

Best comment so far. Understanding, that every big or small developer team is its own thing, is what makes Ubisoft Special. Sure, not all games are Masterpieces, but the people working at the different studios nonetheless tried there best, even if the outcome might not be the best in some cases

I'm one of those people who has had trouble liking Star Wars post Disney. But when it comes to Outlaws, I have to say I'm excited. They seem to add things to the Star Wars lore that feels natural without changing a lot of the lore in a way that feels unnecessary. I'm hopeful that Outlaws will be viewed as positively as Rogue One, The Mandalorian, etc. Can't wait to see where Kay Vess story takes us.

Absolutely phenomenal work on this piece, GameSpot. Immense kudos to Massive for their culture (and retaining of their team) and yeah, I don't believe in Star Wars fatigue. We just need new ideas ala Andor, Skeleton Crew, and stuff like Visions... specifically the Tatooine Rhapsody episode. First time I was legit MOVED by a Star Wars piece in a LONG TIME. Anyway, I'm sooooo immensly hyped for Outlaws :)

The star wars fandom is arguably the most toxic fandoms of them all and they seem determined to take this game down but if your a true star wars fan atleast give this game a shot as its the first open world AAA star wars game by another studio besides EA so it deserves our support and if you hate ubisoft then support the devs at massive as they have made some really great games like division and avatar that have all been stunning graphically

I play video games and i'm a SW fan and so far, nothing about SW:Outlaws managed to convince me to put money down for it. Pandora? Great graphic but lackluster gameplay loop and story is great meh. Division 2? I played it, endgame and NYC dlc highlighted the bad story and don't get me started on the drip feeded content postlaunch, the grind for more Agent abilities was the final nail for me. The studio might have 25 years, but the staff clearly not, otherwise we wouldn't get such slop served as "AAA" game.

Ahh, the Avatar game. It exists. Tell you what, Ubi,. Look what Rockstar did with RDR2, and maybe you gonna have a success in your empty bloated open worlds.
