Join GMWS Mathematics Teachers Lisa Krogh and Harlan Gilbert for a discussion of how students in the grades and high school learn math, and how the Early Childhood Programs develops pre-math skills.
Harlan GIlbert, I could listen to this all day long... Embarking on my Waldorf teaching training and this made me more excited for that, thank you! I teach a hand/clapping/tapping rhythm as I teach numbers in my middle school French classes and I am always fascinated by how the kids follow {or can't quite follow} the kinesthetic piece.. once they sort that {without counting}, the numbers come more easily... very informative!
Hi. I'm skeptical of your statement. _If_ what you say is true, then, I think, "blame" lies with you, not the school. EDIT: Pardon me, the parents, since you indicated "niece". EDIT: Further, likely, the environment(s) provided by "a store" were guilty of what the speaker talks about with respect to "going faster". Your niece experienced difficulty making change under very specific conditions.
