Lando’s raw talent and pace is just fantastic and him helping to build this team since 2017, believed in them when no one else did is just the makings of a WDC!!! Oscar getting a competitive car right away is great, but seeing Lando work with a team and bring everyone towards the front is just so much more rewarding.
@@daarom3472 Lando joined the Mclaren Young Driver programme in 2017. I think that is what he is referring to. Though I believe Oscar has raw talent too and more potential than Lando🤷♂. I think Lando is he's own worst enemy and that car in either Max, Lewis, Alonso or Leclerc's hands would have several poles right now(I say this acknowledging the fact that this is Lando's sixth year in F1)
Oscar never seems to take credit for anything he's always saying it's the team. Good on him in a way for not being a cocky driver and making it all just about him.👏
It's so crazy how many people are so critcal of Lando now. When I first started watching about a year ago he was the little darling of F1, this year this man get's such anger and hate. It's interesting and scary at the same time. Thankfully he seems to bounce back from it or shield himself in ways.
He comes across as quite unpleasant in interviews when he’s not happy, so I can understand why people would not like him if they only catch small clips of him talking (or more accurately, sulking if we’re quite honest). Doesn’t make him a bad person, but it’s very hard to like a driver if they’re miserable and grumpy so much of the time, and you can’t blame the fans if that’s what they’re seeing when they turn on race interviews.
@@Alicatie Well, I understand that. But it's an intense year for the dude. Another commenter said Max had the same effect in earlier seasons. So maybe it's normal, but it's interesting how any video of him, like even sweet ones, are filled with hate.
That’s because he hasn’t learned from Alonso, Hamilton and Max the art of PR and BSing. Even when the car is dominating Lando needs to start complaining about imaginary problems like the gearbox, the tyres, how undriveable the car is, etc. If he just goes and says the car is fast or they didn’t win because of him, then people are going to latch onto that.
@@ineedya123 There’s absolutely no need for people to be hating on him in a mean way, but I can understand how people don’t like him and express their annoyance about his attitude, and that shines through in the comments. I mostly see people complaining about him (with good reasons) and just a few actual haters but I suppose when you put it altogether it makes for a very negative reading about Lando. But people should probably give him a break and not feel the need to comment ALL the time. I think if he could just control his attitude in his media interviews, he wouldn’t get nearly as much.
@@paperplane-db8qf he desperately needs to be paying attention to the PR training I’m sure McLaren are trying to give him. He looks SO sad and sullen and dejected after so many races, I’m starting to wonder if he’s able for a career that requires so much media attention now. He acts like he’s come 20th in so many interviews and there’s Bottas sailing around in the background with no points and having the time of his life.
The unnecessary hate is just like in 2020 when max was catching up on lewis and every person hated him on that and the next year he won I am sure people saying lando doesn't have the winning mentality just because he is the kindest on the grid he is still the third youngest on the grid if you dont forget He is the next champion i just know it And oscar too oscar is a such kind person but i am sure that does not goes the same with his fans
Maybe that's why. Every single post I read of Lando is filled with such hate from fans, it was not like this a year ago. You saw this with Max as well?
I wonder what Ron Dennis thinks about McLaren's recent success and the state of F1 in general? It would be great if Sky Sports F1 could get an interview with him.
Ron Dennis: "The experimentation with different forms of manufacturation and skillification within the teamist structure we strive to deliverify is the manifestation of the Wokingisation of the organisation."
I like about Lando's honesty. Self critique that's specific is productive, however, abusive phrasing is a detramental communication with yourself! Looking forward to seeing Lando recharged 🔥and 🦾mighty for the rest of the season - the only way is up 🧡
Well I think it all started with the signing of Oscar the talent that guy has is unreal and I believe he turned Lando into a better driver because Lando knows he has competition and needs to steep up and Lando has done that. Before Oscar signing Mclaren was a mediocre team.
@@ineedya123 well bro a good call but do remember they didn’t do any thing until half way through last year they were below par before that and off to a very bad start it was only through the midseason of last year that’s when they started to make strides.
They have made a good car, but without Perez' lack of input they wouldn't be challenging the Constructors and without clear support for a No1/closest to Max policy, they are not going to challenge the Driver's title.
Well, Perez”s lack of input is overall a Red Bull problem, you see, since Ricciardo left, they haven’t really nurtured the second seat. And claiming that not many can partner Max isn’t a good excuse. I suspect it’s the culture at RB, starting from Marco and Horner.
Winning the constructors is about both drivers. It's not "just because Perez..." That's the sort. Both need to perform. McLaren has a very good driver pair and a very good car. RB has a very good car for 1 driver and a struggling driver in car that's not good for him. So RB has made mistakes which is why they're under pressure
Lando is under such unique pressure, a year where the cars are is so close, that the smallest error gives away the win. I remember becoming a fan, watching Max (who is amazing) win by 20 or so secs every Sunday, even in a race of other good drivers. According to fans, Lewis (who is also amazing) had an amazing dominant car, both racers obviously had a team behind them with great infustrucure, which Mclaren has taught me, the team has to be ready to win every race as well. Lando was forced to give away a win for a mistake his team made by his own boss. Lando isn't even priority after almost 10 years of loyalty and being 2nd in championship. HE is the underdog of F1 Champs in such a rare form, with the eyes of millions watching it unfold. People hate the dude, his team is error prone, and wants everything to be "fair", Boyyyy I hope he bounces back, everyone needs a good underdog story.
Oscar is my favourite driver. he should have given lando that win. I hope he reads this and realises that this was a missed opportunity for him, to show TRUE CLASS above everyone. You'll get more chances to do that again Oscar. Forget about yourself lad
So that makes all teams and drivers PR merchants right? It’s part of the gig. Isn’t that the entire point of doing interviews? 😂 Giving an interview isn’t all for PR, it’s to give people an insight into what’s going on behind closed doors. If you don’t like it, why watch the video?
You must be joking, McLaren have no judgment on strategy. They should have let the drive with the most points win in Hungary and in Belgium they allowed verstappen to get past during pit stops. They will get nowhere near winning the championship.
Was ironic seeing Lando give Lewis crap about having a race winning car "for 7 years." Then Lewis wins two races with the 3rd best car and Lando only has 1 win with the best car. Just shows it's not as easy as it looks even when you have the best car. Be more humble Lando, learn from Lewis, learn from Oscar. Oscar shows that being humble can be the key to success.
McLaren know their drivers are taking points off each other and choose not to do anything about it is just crazy, it might have worked in the past but now with the grid so close, this NOT the right mindset for a WDC, look at RB and Mercs for the past decade, you need to fully back a single driver!!!!
The constructors is where they make all the money… WDC talk is just selfish and fanboy talk… With everyone jumping ship at red bull, they can worry about the WDC next season, if they keep the upward trajectory they are on…
He’s in a car that should win every race, basically. He has to beat one or two other drivers, that’s it, but he is unable to. McLaren needs to make Piastri the number one driver. Lando is far too weak-minded.
Unfortunately for Lando, this might be the case. Oscar seems like he's more than capabale if the car is the best car. Lewis shows in the third best car that a good driver can make the difference, as he's won 2 races to Oscar and Landos 1 win each. McLaren should be winning every race.
@@gaycha6589 I know. It’s exactly what Lando said about Lewis a few years ago. I just changed it up slightly. You can copy and Google my comment and you’ll see the original one made by Lando.
RBR has the Drivers wrapped up, Max will win it easily but the Constructors is up for grabs. Am i wrong in saying this? IMO Max has too much of a lead..?
Really? 10 races left, McLaren's 2 drivers performing well, getting good points. Red Bull haven't won a race in 4 races, only 1 podium in 4 races. In that time McLaren have had a podium in every race, even a 1-2 finish. Red Bull's other car was last on the podium 4 months ago. Only scored 24 points in the last 7 races. 10 races left, 440 points up for grabs, 42 point gap, of course there is a championship fight.
@@semadragunmathematically possible but realistically not unless Lando gets possessed by sennas ghost during the summer break and smokes verstappen every race
Red Bulls car is falling behind and Adrian Newey has left. If Lando can win 2/3 of the remaining races and Max remains of the podium by Mercedes or Ferrari, Lando still has a decent shot at the drivers. And with Perez's performance at the moment, Red bull looks to finish 3rd in the constructors.
Lando just has something Oscar doesnt in terms of raw speed. Oscar might get close eventually but Lando is just a year older so he still has so much room to grow.
Oscar is only in his second year, he has loads to improve on, Lando has been there for 6 years lol, he's not going to get better. Lando's problem is mental, he needs to do what Rosberg did and get a therapist.
McLaren need to stop constant talk of winning races. Just for once downplay their chances and simply do the talking and hopefully winning on the track.
They have had an equal best car like Lewis had in 2008. There is no excuse for LANDO not to win the drivers championship except he is not as good as a young 2008 Lewis. Yeah Lewis made lots of mistakes in 2008 but also got the results like Lando should be doing now
Becuse they will introduce new upgrades and ground effect cars have a certain aerodynamic limit. At spa both Mercedes Ferrari and VCARB had to abandon their new floors because porpoising has returned same will happen to McLaren and they will keep reverting to previous spec and by doing so they will loose overall pace, they be lucky if they finish 3th in the championship.
@robertribic6599 so how do you know that they already reached that ''limit'' ? Alsp just because other teams' upgrades didn't work doesn't necessarily mean McLean's won't neither
@@volkanuzug1824 The teams are already at their limit with ground effect regulations hence them being so close and volatile in terms of performance. McLaren have yet to experience any setbacks with their upgrades, it's only natural that they will soon reach the limit and start porpoising and yes it is possible for them to recover quickly from that but I have my doubts.
