Through use of personal experience, and encounters with those in poverty, Nirjhar proposes what he believes to be a probable solution to prominent poverty: microfinance. As he recounts the stories of individuals of whom microfinance has helped, Nirjhar educates and formulates important points about the future of the less fortunate in our ever-developing world.
My name is Nirjhar Deb, and I am a sophomore at ASD, where I have been studying since kindergarten. I was born in the US, my roots lie in India, and I live in Qatar. I am passionate about global issues, and I am truly excited for this opportunity to present the topic of ‘Microfinance to Beat the Cycle of Poverty’ as a speaker in this year’s TEDx event. I also enjoy exploring the underwater world, writing computer programs, and - of course - playing videogames!
