Update as of 11/15/23: Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise have been renamed to Copilot, which will be generally available on Dec 1. Copilot continues to offer commercial data protection when an eligible user is signed in using a Microsoft Entra ID account, and the capabilities and functionality in this video continue to be offered. Great video but now that you have rebranded BCE to Microsoft Copilot, will you create an updated version of this with the new branding? It would really help to clear up a lot of confusion.
Can you please share the registry key to set the Allow Access to Documents for the HubSideBar in Edge? I have not been able to find an information of how to control this via a policy?
No, those are in your Microsoft 365 boundary. Bing Chat Enterprise can only use public web data to augment GPT responses. The other method as shown is to copy data into your prompt, or for pdf and web pages, you can use the Edge sidebar as demonstrated to retrieve data from the open page or pdf on the left to augment prompts.
Data is purged when a user starts a new topic? What if a user uses the same chat and doesn’t initiate a new one? Will the data be held then, until they initiate a new topic? Reviewing this for our business from a security standpoint.
How can I guarantee our organization that Microsoft does not collect our enterprise data? We have quite a few security officers who immediately reject new technology unless we can prove it's 100% secure and doesn't harm our privacy. (For them a video stating "we don't collect data" is not sufficient.)
Thanks for your comment. Bing Chat Enterprise does not have direct access to your content in Microsoft 365. That said, and as we demonstrate in the video, you can paste in text with additional grounding context using your enterprise data into the Bing Chat Enterprise prompt. That information is not retained and once the session is finished, any information contained in the prompt and response is deleted. There is no record or chat history maintained.
