I agree with you. She pretended to be somebody she wasn't and that from the beginning of the relationship on. She wanted to be somebody and being with him offered her some opportunities. She probably had her dreams and wanted to be with someone important to achieve her goals, which automatically wouldn't have been possible if she had continued her life as an unknown young girl without a global star by her side. Luckily for her that Elvis was attracted to her. You have to have some luck in life, right? She had some luck that's for sure. I have to admit, she expressed some really good ideas, for example the jumpsuits, the flashy belts, the logos. Maintaining Graceland was a hard piece of work, which she mastered brilliantly. But I don't believe her story about how they met either. She must have helped somehow. She must have been precocious, considering that her mother was often pregnant from 1949 on. I'm assuming her mother was helping her style the day she met Elvis. It would have been in her mother's interest that Elvis found her daughter attractive. Neither her mother nor the man who adopted her, were rich people, right? Isn't it so, that Priscilla helped them in the 60ies and later on to become more financially relaxed? So it's easy to answer who benefited from whom. I believe also what Mary Lacker reported: Elvis told him that he was pressured by Priscilla's father to marry her.What would have happened to Priscilla if she and Elvis had broken up in 1966? What would she have achieved afterwards? Most likely not what she achieved after her divorce. She certainly would have gotten married at some point, but would she have lived in a beautiful villa like she did before and after her divorce? There was only one Elvis, and she certainly had the ambition to keep him for herself, especially when half the women in the world idolized him and would have sold their grandmother to be with him. I can imagine, that she wanted to remain at his side. I also read that she was a big Paul Anka fan and tried to get to know him before she met Elvis. Getting to know Paul Anka during this time was a big deal and, from what I've read, she must have made an effort to get close to him. Red West once said in an interview that she tried to get to know him (Red) in Germany, shortly before she met Elvis. So its a bit strange to hear all those things about her. Fact is, cheating rumors started to arise a few years after the wedding. Did Elvis figure out the whole thing? Was that why the relationship fell apart or did he never fully digest the fact that he was forced into his own marriage? Marty Lacker said Elvis kept postponing the wedding around 1965/66. You can hear it yourself in his interviews. As a big Elvis fan, I often wondered: Would Elvis have gotten older if he never had married and never had divorced her? The divorce hit him hard. If he had lived longer, he could have achieved new things with his wonderful and unique voice, personality and creativity. I am sad that the most important person in that group is gone as the first one and is gone for so many years now and some others, for example the colonel, outlived him for so much longer, 20 years. Everybody that was with him made money out of him. That is kind of sad. It was so important for Elvis to give his best at every performance, no matter the cost. I read somewhere that the real reason Elvis wanted.to kill Mike Stone was not the relation he had with Priscilla,but when Elvis wanted to see Lisa Mike Stone said no ,and Elvis good not see Lisa . When he was so devistated that Priscilla has left him, why did he say no to her when she wanted to come back after she had problems with Mike? I think he had two problems after the divorce. Mike Stone was righting a book and was supposed to add a little bit about him and Priscilla. She definitely pursued him. Elvis’ cousin’s wife, Jo Smith, said on their last RU-vid channel how Priscilla lied about not having friends. Priscilla and Jo did a lot of things together. Shopping and so much more etc. Dancing old dances together in front a big mirror, when Billy and Jo lived in California. And Priscilla stayed with Jo Smith in their Double Wide Trailer at Graceland when Elvis was in Hollywood making movies. They went a lot places together. Jo Smith said that Priscilla never spoke to her again. Jo Smith said that Priscilla must think they are too country for her. Their channel is EFM Elvis Fans Matter. Mike Stone has said he would say nothing "bad" about Priscilla in his upcoming book. That if people are waiting for him to bash her, they are wrong. I'm not interested in that book. I have to agree...she had no scruples about him having a family, but he was an adult and consenting. You don't "steal" a person who doesn't want to be "stolen ". Both were married so no one is to be judged better than the other..they had the same responsibility. They made their choice. The only thing is that Priscilla always tends to overlook the fact that she left Elvis because she was already involved in another relationship ..she likes the "I lived in a bubble and needed to find myself" narrative much better. 😂
