This is a quick video that shows different scalps and how much alpaca or mohair I used to create a reroot of that length. This video is about my personal preferences and not intended to shame anyone else’s reroots 💕
All weights are of cleaned and processed alpaca that is ready to root

YES, this was extremely helpful, thanks so much, Eleanor! I'm preparing to make a mohair reroot and you actually used an example of the exact same style (and color) that I'll be using, so I feel more confident that I know how much to buy and use. Thank you! :D 🥰

Thank you!!!! This helps a lot, I myself love way toooooo much hair and would have been upset the dome wouldn’t fit on. (Have to wait for the parts in the mail to do my first reroot.)

You’ve inspired me! I’ve ordered a pack each of mohair and alpaca, to process and use for my customs! Have you ever shared how you dye your fibre? I’d love some tips! ❤️

I dye mine with acid dye, currently I like to use Citric acid to set it. It’s fairly easy to dye, but it’s not a very precise method 😅 I keep meaning to make a video, but if you search acid dye wool dyeing on RU-vid there are loads of fibre artists you are much better at dyeing than me!😊

@@eleanorclancy1672 I’d love to see how you do it, if you ever feel like filming it. Dying locks is a bit different to dying wool for spinning I imagine, and that’s all I can find. No pressure though, I understand it’s a big undertaking. I just love your videos!
