Like everyone says remember to buy add an egg and I'd recommend just eating like 1 fruit and vegetable a day for an extra 2 bucks you get some minerals. I bought an Sti for 40k and my payments were just under 600 a month, I was working a job that paid me 2400 a month take home. I had to make deli meat sandwiches 5 days a week at work and cereal in the morning ramen in the evening

What's even crazier than that, according to Doug Demuro, the absolute most basic model of this car starts at under $60k. That is INSANE when this car looks like a Lambo super car! Chevy is utterly crazy for doing this! They're INSANE! And I just saw one today! A yellow one, couldn't believe my eyes! They're already here!

I really love this car. I used to not much care for American automobiles but I drove an OLD Chevy van for about 2 years and it was so reliable. It literally saved my life. Chevrolet really earned a special place in my heart when I had that thing. Then I rented a Corvette Z06 with a friend as a special treat to ourself. One of the funnest vehicles I’ve ever driven. And the things I’m hearing about the C8... I think this will be the car I purchase if I see life changing gains. It easily rents for 300-400 a day on Turo and when it’s not being rented, would be a great happiness bringer! This car is my goal for 2021!

Paying a down payment or not putting anything down doesn't change the price of the vehicle. It makes your loan smaller which unless you have a 0% interest loan, does end up making a difference in the actual cost of the vehicle over the term of the loan. If you would pay 90% down and only finance 10% of the initial cost, you pay a lot less in interest, again unless your loan rate is 0%. If it's 0, then it makes sense to finance the entire cost of the vehicle excepting whatever minimum they require to put down if any.

My nephew paid $520k for his 2021 458 Pista Ferrari. When I look at his insurance cost per month I get cramps. But he is also a very successful businessman. So you guys are correct everything its all relevant. The good thing about the C8 right now is that when you buy this car you are on the green side. I know you can still sell it for more. But most super cars loose value as soon as you take it off the dealer.

A little FYI to anyone here thinking they're going to pay invoice or below invoice and leave with a C8 the dealership staff will laugh you out of the place. $5000 over sticker isn't bad for something that can only be had by ordering especially with the demand for these cars. BMW customers were paying $8k over MSRP to get the M2 when it just came out and Porsche owners pay an easy $10k to $15k+ over MSRP on any "GT" variant of whatever model they're buying. Given that this Corvette has exotic car level performance but can be serviced at any GM dealerships the fact that this car can be had for under $100k all in is a total win. BTW Z51 package is a MUST for any Corvette.

@@Tpowerstroke250 First of all your comment has no bearing on the general car buying base. You got lucky, you found a car and someone backed out of the deal... Do you think that happens to 99.9% of the customer base? The answer is probably an unequivocal no. The dealership wanted to get rid of it because special orders take longer to sell as they're not in a typical color or spec that would sell in big numbers. Place you live also has no bearing on the subject as it's the dealership's management that makes a discretionary decision.

You actually got a good deal buddy. 94 k out the door is phenomenal. The markup right now on these is 30 grand. Yup. A whopping $105+ just for the car, not including tax title license and interest. I work at at Chevrolet dealer. A lot of guys with money come in to take a look at the c8 and then walk out shortly after finding out about the markup.

Cars are pretty affordable if you buy used and put a little down payment. I’m a schoolteacher so I don’t make a ton of money but a car payment is about 200 bucks if you buy a $10,000 or 15K used Mustang or something. You could afford a second car if you save up. I bought my first car cash by saving up so a year later I got a Jeep Wrangler TJ as a weekend ride for about 13K. Easy to finance as money is cheap now. Unless your budget is super tight We pay 200 bucks a month for cable and Internet or to eat out a lot but for some reason that seems impossible for a car?

Never attempt to justify the expense. It will fail, every time. Our hero here understands three things. 1. What is the total cost of ownership? (acquisition, maintenance, operation, depreciation and ultimately disposition). 2. Can you afford to do this? (Sounds like he can). 3. Does it bring him joy? (hell yes, it seems). If you can handle all three, do it. If not, go buy a Honda Fit and a really, really good bicycle.

michael ferraro same here, I wanted the Escalade more and more as review videos were surfacing on RU-vid than the vette, plus I think Coronavirus made this year uncomfortable and cautious plus the summers in Michigan are short so with covid 19 I’m already labeling this summer as a washed 3/4 months. Never had a new vette. It's gorgeous. I've had 3 used ones- c3,c4,c5 all convertibles. Bought them with low miles and drove on sunny summer Sundays for 3 or 4 years each. My payments on the c3 were $500 a month for a year. No payments on the other 2. Only had collision and comprehension ins. on the c5. When I sold them I actually made $600 on the first one, lost $500 on the second one and lost $2500 on the last one, but it was well worth it. That c5 is still the fastest car I have ever owned and I have owned 43 counting trucks and motorcycles ( last bike might have been faster- never had it full throttle). The fastest one I have ever ridden in that wasn't on a track ( I did that Petty thing at CMS ) was a Tesla (0 to 60 in 2.2)..

I’m generally confused. 2021 models are back ordered. Dealerships are a business, and the c8 is a highly valued car right now. Supras were going 20k over when they first dropped. Salesmen are people too, and need to make a living. I thoroughly enjoy schooling clients like you when you walk in. Corvettes aren’t for everyone :)

Owning a car like that in Italy is a suicide for middle-upper class. Expect around 2-3k yearly for insurance, add another 5k for government taxes, add another 2-3k JUST FOR SWITCHING OWNERSHIP (regular cars are like 300) and another 2k for emissions during the transition and there you go, only in the first year you threw an extra 12k in. Oh yeah and of course base price in Italy goes from 60.000$ to 121.000$. Talking about a G8 country here, not some third world one. Insanity.

Beautiful car, good video. Good luck with it. I think if you include the finance charges, it’s a little higher. $1,519x60=$91,140+$10k down =$101,140 before insurance which won’t go away after 60 months (and could actually go up)

MOST people, average people, don't see the difference between a base and a loaded C8. For the average guy, a base C8 Red can be had for more like $65,000 out the door. $10,000 down makes the loan $55,000. which puts his payment at $985. Which to me makes more sense.

Honestly, I would love to see you make a video on the Hellcat. I am actually in the market for one once I graduate college as I was fortunate enough secure a job working for a large CPA firm in International Taxation so seeing what you are paying as far as the monthly payment, insurance, gas, mods that you've made, whether or not you finance or leased, if you brough your own financing or secured it through the dealership would be very helpful!

From an inactive CPA, the best financial advise is to neither lease or buy a Hellcat. Acquiring an expensive performance car is never a good financial decision. With that said, I leased a Z28 (which was somewhat the equivalent of the Hellcat back then) when I graduated from college and do not regret it. However, I would have been better off financially to buy a used Honda or Toyota. I was debt free by the way. If you really have to have a Hellcat, I would recommend leasing one. You will know how much it will cost to drive it and you will have the optionality to hand it in or buy it out in a few years. Congratulations on your job offer by the way.
