I actually just did something similar to my driver. I went from playing a 60g stiff to a 40g reg. I gained 4mph club and 8mph of ball speed, but my spin went up and, like you I lost control of the club face. What I noticed was the swing weight went from D3 to d9. I added a 12g counterbalance weight to the end of my shaft, (brought the SW back to d4ish) and got another 1mph club an 2 mph ball and my spin came back down. (Originally was 21-2200 went to 28-3000 then came back to about 2400). End result was same dispersion and 20yds. Was carrying it 245, now it's a comfortable 265. My buddies have noticed.😊 I didn't use a fitter, I just bought a shaft and rented a bay and figured it out, that's why I found your video so interesting. Very cool. Just for disclosure, I bought the Mitsubishi Vanquish not the accura, but same concept. My ss is 100-105
Bought the shaft a month ago, darkspeed LS head, m0 140, 20-30 yards longer , not a problem with dispersion! Just feel! Feel is weird, don’t really know where the head is and in a bad day could potentially cause those bad hits like the last one, i would recommend what my fitter told me, don’t try to swing harder than your normal swing, that way it’s very controlable! But It certainly makes you want to rip it!! 😂
You’re right! We got silly with speed as there was 3 of us, but if we’d been playing our own ball, it might have been a different story 😄 Glad it’s working!
My daughter uses A flex 40g 44inch for fun at the practise range I swap my 75g XS shaft out being Callaway and do long drive for the whippy flex. 300 yards . Ball splays everywhere. 😱
That’s the shaft I’ve got in my driver and 5 wood. Both Darkspeed max. Driver is 9* standard. It seems to be working for me!! Definitely longer drives. Assuming I put a decent swing on it.
Gaz: Just got fitted for the ACCRA GX 150 M2 shaft in Callaway Paradym AI Smoke driver. And the ACCRA GX 100F M2 for my Paradym Smoke 3 wood and 7 wood. I don't have your swing speed. Only had these a week, Seems a bit longer and a tad more forgiving than my old Callaway Epic set. Also got fitted for Mizuno Pro 245 irons with LA Golf A Series High 65 shafts 2 A flex. My Blue ACCRA shaft isn't as whippy as what you have.
Wow! You haven’t held back on those irons! 👀👀 No, I appreciate this is a great shaft, I just don’t think I fit the profile for it. Lots of people are rating it 👌🏼
You should play a match with James Robinson using the long drive shaft without telling him you’re using it, just pull it out the bag on the first driver hole!
Got fitted recently and got this shaft with the Callaway Ai Smoke. Very first swing on the driving range I hit an absolute bomb almost dead center of the face. Second swing, on the down swing, the shaft broke in half! What the absolute F? Warranty is covering it but it better hold up this time! Anybody else have this problem? Maybe a defect in that one shaft or what?
It may have had some trauma in carriage or build. I’m sure your new one will be okay, they’ll go through alot of stress testing before putting them on the market ⛳️🫶🏼
@@garymartingolf - Go back and listen to the first part of his video, he clearly stated that he thought the driver could be as long as 50 inches. Cheers bud.
OK, I see what happened here... I was responding to the advertisement at the start of the video... a different guy talking about driver weight and speed.
