This guy is so top notch. I love his transparency and how humble he is. So many pilots are type A personality who tend to seem more entitled. I personally say transition to the wide body (787 cause I am biased) instead of upgrading to captain. Longer flights, cooler overnights, more adventures, more new vlog ideas, and you can just upgrade to captain once on the widebody later.

I see a lot of comments from truck drivers... Lol I'm trying to get into trucking as well, then transition to aviation... My plan is to avoid excessive debt by slowly working my way up... As a future truck driver i should be making enough money to afford the loan.

Hi! I’m interested in this career field. The only thing is I’m single and have a 8 month old puppy. Is this something I can maintain while going to pilot school and getting into the career? I love him so much and would never get rid of him but I also want to be able to pursue a successful career. I love flights and traveling.

I would say because your always talking about seniority , then upgrade to Captain and begin getting that Captain seniority sooner rather than later, then transition to wide body or stay narrow body

Since I was with the pilot Saturday fly 8 minutes ride in the helicopter of my very first time it’s make me think I want to go to a pilot school lol. And I mentioned I followed one pilot blogger sames like the pilot have pretty good pay job. And we everyone said: it’s just too expensive to go to school

What is the difference between some pilots getting paid based on 75-80 hours per month of flight time and the method you are breaking down? Are you required to meet a certain number of monthly hours or flights per month even when you try to fly the minimum amount? If you only fly one day a month, based on one turn, would that be all someone makes (the $1500)? Trying to understand the different tiers of pay. Thanks for sharing!

If you upgrade to 737 CA next year, will you get paid as a 5th year CA? Same thing with the wide body, would you start out as a 5th year wide body FO or does it reset to first year pay every time you upgrade?

Hey Garrett, I want to go to ATP flight school and not sure whether to pull the trigger or not as it’s going to cost me $110-120k! It’s an insane cost, what do you think it’ll be all worth it? Will I make my ROI? Will i possibly be able to pay off my loan quick with my salary?

In my opinion it’s better to go to a local flight school! ATP can get you through a lot quicker but it’s very tense. The interest rates are also insane there’s a ton of videos about ATP if you want to check them out!

Pilots are definitely overpaid vs other airline employees. Airlines can’t wait for the day once technology allows for no pilots up front! It’s coming, slowly.

You can thank the FAA for that. It costs upwards of 100k for a lot of us to get too the airlines. 100k in debt for schooling, I better be getting paid over 100k a year at the airlines.

That's not incredibly far off from what my family members who are doctors in California make. Not the greatest pay for a socal doctor but they're not struggling to pay their bills at least.
