How to make a small fortune racing motorcycles? Start with a large fortune :) Naska you are great. Thanks for the answers and your fun videos.
@RyaNewGame
@RyaNewGame 4 года назад
I researched about starting to race in motoGP and I came to the conclusion that you are either lucky to have parents like Rossi's or Marquez's, or the majority of motogp riders, which started riding bikes and racing at a very very young age, because the parents encouraged them to do so and were able to support the kids financially, and by 20 or so, they were winning championships and from there it only got better, or the other way, like Naska says, money. A lot of money tens or even thousand of euros to start and to sustain yourself not only through starting to race, but also through learning and spending all your time at the track, in order to grow your skills and to stay focused doing it. So for us regular riders, even though the desire, willpower and talent are there, it takes a winning lottery ticket ;)

Thanks for answering my question Alberto! I must admit, I am envious that you have been able to make motorcycles your life. Most of us have a "real" 😜 job that, if we're lucky, affords us the ability to be able to ride in our spare time. I'm sure you already know this but it is interesting to make the distinction nonetheless. Keep doing what you're doing and don't forget to enjoy it!! Looking forward to seeing what the future has in store. Best of luck to you!

I'm a recent fan from America. Thank you for these. (and thank you for encouraging people to take it to the track and not squid out on the street. Track days are under $200 if you shop around out here in California, a day of going super fast for less than the cost of a ticket, let alone an emergency room visit. Regarding the question of starting, I understand he asked 600 or 1000, and of those, you suggested 600, but it might be worth suggesting people start on 125. It's way more forgiving, cheaper to ride, and you get to go 10/10ths a lot more and learn to carry corner speed etc.

"How much does it cost" the right answer is "As much as you have" LOL First there is the bike, and then the suspension, and then the bodywork and handlebars and footpegs and rearsets and everything else, and then the leathers and air-vest and helmet and all that. And then entry fees (here it is a few hundred $ per weekend), and tires, which depends on the bike and on the level of competition ... I get three weekends out of a set of tires ($400) on a Yamaha R3 but a superbike may use a couple of sets per weekend. But then so much varies. Do you travel to the track in a van and sleep inside and cook food on a barbecue (that's what I do) or do you have a big motorhome and huge trailer ($$$) or does the wife make you stay in a hotel and eat in a restaurant every day ($$$). Do you work on the bike yourself or do you have to pay a mechanic ($$$$$!!!) I've kept cost under control by staying with a small bike and not having a huge motorhome, and if something breaks (or I break something LOL) I fix it myself.

Not using the rear brake is a big mistake. I used to not use it as well, but then it shortens your braking distance quite a bit. Hence why MotoGP riders feel the need to add a rear brake lever to the handlebars since they have their legs dangling most times on hard braking.

Fastest possible cornering = hold exaclty the speed = highest safty while cornering. What means in longer corners you accelerate smooth. Don't know if this is possible on the track, but if i am really (sometimes to) fast on the road, you will do this automatically, everything else will get you to fall. I like your channel because you explain so many nice things about positioning etc. you normaly never hear / think about. But i didn't get it, why you dont use rear brakes on track to stabilize the bike?

But as much as it already an expensive sport to begin with, having to travel to another country just to practice because we dont have a track in my country makes the accessibility, cost and convenience worse :( i just hope one day i’ll be able to get there🙏 wish Singapore would have more interest in Motogp or motoraces like how they love F1 as well
