I’ve been a CPhT for 15 years and no job has ever paid me 65k. Not even chemo mixing. I’m not sure what specialty department she is in that pays that much, but the average technician doesn’t make anywhere near that much. Misleading for sure.
@@_SevenKay Atlanta is expensive but other places in GA is inexpensive. Of course prices are relative. This is coming from CA. Where major or midsize cities or towns are expensive but small towns are not.
@@unaztecamas1683 10k to get certified.. what? I’m having a hard time understanding that, how? $10 that’s crazy. Ik not everyone goes through a pharm tech course (I didn’t) but things can go wrong really quickly and ppl should get paid a little better same with EMT/ paramedics
There's no way techs make $65k. I'm licensed, plus an certified immunizer as well as take a lead on inventory, clinical tasks, and billing. I've worked for the same company for 12.5 years and I don't make anywhere near that.
@@GonzE1993 I’m looking to go to school to be a pharmacy tech, and eventually a pharmacist. Did you get an associates, bachelor’s, etc? Idk how it works.
If you do that isn't normal at all and you are in a SUPER small minority - also $70K in SoCal is VERY different from $70K almost anywhere else in the country.@@shelbyjackson7809
For people who are wondering for pharmacy salary, dont ever go to big retail chains. You will never get that amount. Most hospital will pay that salary during the pandemic they were offering #2k-$5k sign on bonus but mainly you need experience to get that salary and, of course where you live matters
Any tips on how to get certified on the math portion? I’m going for my 2nd try and I’m scared. But feel comfortable with meds, federal requirements and patient safety it’s just the processing part.
Pharmacy tech is not a good field. Been doing it for 10 years. Never seen a 65 k position. So happy I got out of it. In my experience. Alot of greedy owners who do not pay well.. alot of new techs come in with a training license and they make about the same as certified techs or a dollar less. Get into another field if you are thinking about it.
Funny how people tgink that they should set their own pay despite not having sufficient knowledge of how that would effect the system in which that person works. Thats like prescribing a drug without knowing its side effects
