I think the best way to get into taxation and excel in it is CA route. However you can even do LLB, get interned with a tax law firm or a ca firm to learn the trade. Taxation after all is all about understanding the law. I don’t think plain b com without any taxation experience would help.
it's like telling doing engineering from IIT is better than doing from general colleges. CA is tough and most of the CAs i met have taken more than 3 attempts to pass.And i work in transfer pricing in an MNC and most CA don't know anything about transfer pricing . coz they only learned in their studies. and never came across in real life. so sometimes opportunity also matters.

How many top tax experts are non CA or non advocates? I don’t think many. If i start my career in taxation would i happy after 15 years languishing at the mid management level or do i aspire to become a partner?

I went through the comment section and saw some of the most dumbest comments from fellow individuals, so let me explain this to you as i feel I am competent to answer this, so in this video the girl is talking about tax analyst role, 1st point it's us tax and not indian one that's the reason the payscale for even a graduate candidate is slightly higher, so it has nothing to do with your graduation as the us tax is a totally different thing, me being an ENROLLED AGENT which is basically a license given from the IRS(internal revenue service that is tax body of us) is earning way more than this, so yes us tax is pretty much a niche profile as it is very complicated to work on those tax returns.

tax is a complex in nature if u study properly and crack the interview then your chances are high and u need good academics too like a high grades normally people don't understand taxation much more she definitely pursue some courses or she already had a intrest in taxation
CAs join as Associate, senior associate or Assistant manager and not as analyst in any of the big6. CAs join as analyst only in investment banking or management consulting.
You can do government job even after graduation. So you should have knowledge which stream have more scope of jobs in government post as well as private job

After doing your graduation you can be an enrolled agent which is a tax analyst course itself thats how you can be well paid....just doing graduation wont help you anyway!!
3-4 lakhs for bcom ? Seriously ? I paid 30,000 as fees for all 3 years which got reimbursed through scholarships ,in Goa Bcom is aided so we barely pay 10,000 per year
