I know an architect who makes more than 10cr+ a year....dont be discouraged watching this video , if you are passionate about it you can make a lot of money in architecture
This is one of the most realistic videos out there. There would be architects who make much more than 10Cr but it takes heck lot of years, contacts and dedication. It's an industry very comparatively the growth is very slow and quite honestly passion alone will take years to bring food to the table. You can only grow at a good pace if you have a family background in this or have good connections or if you fall in the 1% of truly gifted artists. If not, as long as you're in India, this will stay the ugly reality. I wish someone had shown me the reality of this field, I wouldn't have wasted 5 years of my life and Lacs over this. It's not discouraging, it's simply realistic.
For Hong Kong it’s reasonable too. But honestly in comparison to other professionals: lawyers, doctors, bankers, our salaries pale in comparison. Some senior architects in HK are making less than interns at law firms. It’s quite sickening the talents, education and determination required to be an architect or a landscape architect and have relatively low salaries. Law interns start at around 13,500 aus a month, actually ridiculous. On the plus side architects are always lovely to chat with, smart, passionate and generally very cultured people.
I took horrible decision joining Architecture.... Now in my final sem just waiting to get this shit over.... Only option left is career change... Guys please don't join Architecture unless you are genuinely interested, rich and well to go family
@@lemonstranglerat the start, yes. But then as you get more clients through word of mouth or adds, you will make way more money than if you were in a firm
Honestly that’s less than an interior designer, architecture is actually so HARD and requires loads of maths and physics as well + 5 years of college and loads of patient building should be paid wayy more
no architecture no maths what do you mean lol. thats engineering you are talking about . architecture is not that hard, its just that for some reason schools make you do lots of project work. but other than that its not hard , school is stupid for some reason, they deliberately try to torture you
@@Coco_Chanel7 there's subjects called Structural design and systems , structural analysis involves Physics and climatology which is study of environmental sciences
@@abhijeetchavhan37 ARCHITECHTURE & STRUCTURAL ARE TWO DIFFERENT GENRE OR DEPT IN CIVIL ENGINEERING. IN ARCHITECHTURE U JUST DESIGN WHATEVER U WANT MAINTAINING LOOKS,STYLE BUT IN STRUCTURAL , THEY R THE MAIN MAN WHO WILL MAKE IT REALITY OF AN ARCHITECHTURE'S DREAM.
I initially started my career practising Structural design after completing my Mtech in Structure. Worked 1 yr in structural consultancy, it was stressful for me and i wasn't good enough in that, so i switched my career to Architecture. Initially 3 months i did job at firm, then i started on my own doing Interior designs and stuff. I got numerous project via contacts, but after sometime i got no projects for months, so i started learning 3d game asset development, product visualisation, environment design, etc. I opened a small outsourcing studio with a team of 5, we provide all types of services. At last it all worked out.
In architecture a fresher can't expect a salary more than 15-20k. Dedication for only work and experience along with long working hours, no weekend off, less money in pocket seems stupid. I have suffered and struggled to survive. Less income, hectic work life, sleepless nights and many more things changed my mind to switch career.
I have also done a diploma in architecture but my problem is different thats why i left it as i am not that creative person . i used to make a lot of mistake in short unable to design the things properly .
@@germansandro4876 also I think creativity in architectural design is subjective. Client is the boss. We're just puppets and gets the thing done according to clients creativity
@@germansandro4876 after spending 5 years in architecture college, it gave me opportunity to explore new things. I'm learning and trying for a job in tech field. Eventually no job is perfect but might pay better.
2.4L per annum is like 20k per month... Electrician, plumber, carpenter, Mason in my company makes much more than that... Don't let people exploit you. Join the right company... I know you are a fresher, but even unskilled people make 500-600 per day as daily wage labourer.
Score good in JEE or NATA, get into a good architecture college, learn designing tools, make a portfolio, apply for an internship in countries like Germany, USA,Switzerland.earn experience, get another job and repeat the process for an year or two. You are good to go.
When you start your office one can earn 4 lakh a month....and we earn till end of our life....starting is bad but after some times it pays it well ....
Actually hearing all this things I loose my confidence but my whole family is in construction work they needed an architecture my dad said don't worry about job we want an architecture from our family after some experience if you start on your own u will get success .I thought Architecture is more better than studying Phys maths and chem .wt do you guys think how about amity university for architecture
He is a genuine guy Mam. He don't lie about his income. Respect him. As we know in earlier level Architect income less but gaining experience year by year a Architect income more than 20 lac per year. Respect Architect and Civil engg. Because if you do not how can IT professional will work, how can we get Hospitals and Nurshinghome Or how can we get shopping mall or market.
Ayo niqqua, that's what architects do normally. Start their own firm. Most of the people doing architecture go for job to gain experience, after one or 2 year they leave and start their own firm.
20k per month? That's literally half of my monthly tuition fee... Y'all gotta sacrifice so much just for something you're passionate about, such a sad plight of this world.
The thing is this profession really needs time people seriously needs to understand this the returns are staggering but at a later stage if u need it from the start it's better to do something else ...
"Basically its design.. " "I looove design" "You dont know what is design" "Its bassically known as design" "So yeah im a design-" "YOU SAID ARCHITECT" "Ah fxck yeah forgot sorry, designs runnin' through mah mind"
salary is a joke, but as an passionated architect with 7 yrs of experiance I got offers with 70k EUR in Germany. Of course you have to change the area and go into Projectmanagement for bigger constructioncompanys. But there you can go up to 100k. I love this job, but if you want to only design you have to be a good one. And good design comes just with understanding how construction works.
As an architect I would say, this is sad! The amount of thought and hardwork, the mental stress that goes into making each project a reality is huge and the reward for the work is sooo disappointing! Junior architects are tortured with no mercy in India. Sadly , the council and other institutions for architects don't even care, it's like they are keeping this egoistic approach of 'make yourself some money if you are that good at this and work under me if you want my wisdom as experience '. Addressing unpaid internships ,under payment and a fixed salary to junior architects is never on their agenda. The weight of their heads don't allow them to think of such silly issues. I love art and architecture, but Indian architects have failed me too. Now, I do work on my own, and i remain content with it. I am not hiring any junior architects just because I'm sure I can't steadily give them a decent amount ( like i expected)as salary for the work they do from my profits. I do my work on my own and am happy doing it. There's no point in speaking up here. All these groups are there to just boast about their works and act nerd.
im a final year student in architecture, and this field makes me regret it atleast once a day. ive never felt so hopeless in my life, as an architect and working professional would you suggest i switch to something that will be more lucrative and better for my mental health
@@getoutofmykitchen650 hey, don't give up! I just see this as a degree I have and because I spend my time into it. Even now, i write civil service exams, other govt exams in hope to change my field. I don't plan to work abroad, so I really don't know the work culture anywhere there. It depends on the firm. I do take up works here, not too much, just enough not to go out of touch. After all , a degree is a degree. But I'm constantly trying for architecture posts in CPWD and ISRO too. Even though it's limited,I hope I get in ! Just focus on passing this course, give them the list of things they ask you to provide for jury, nothing more nothing less. Once you get out, you can pursue this and try for a career change, if you wanna get an MBA ,do that. And btw, after graduation, do take time off. It helps. Travel if you need to. Don't get yourself all submerged in others talk about it's a competitive field. Make peace and work at your own pace, that's the best thing about graduating.
Don't worry it will decrease even furthur to 1 lakh since population is increasing rapidly.😂 Both civil engineer and architecture choosing this field....i leave rest to your imagination ❤
If u view architecture the same as fashion design or product design ur the problem. Architecture is designing environments. It's capturing peoples everyday life in ur design so that is complements it's inhabitants. Architecture isn't art it's a mentality thats given form by the architect.
no you are wrong sir. architect is like design and art and planning. what you have been talking about is engineering job. architecture is designing environment? u r right, same as how product design and other designs is also designing environment
The problem is not Architecture, the problem is that Civil Engineering has become extremely broad. Today 99% civil engineering graduates can (sort of) do what an architect can do. Secondly, there is no "patents" on building design. Becoming an architect is like being an artists, a painter, a "kalakar". You have no scope unless you are rich, well connected with big companies, and live in a 1st world country where people are willing to pay good money for your "art".
Learning lot of difficult softwares , developing communication skills, have to be on site, have to travel a lot still isnt paid enough. Architect is basically a simp of Architecture and design. Im one of those.
Some professions like Psychology, Architect or any research related fields are only hight paying in developed country, there is no point in pursuing thess courses if you are gonna stay here as it wont pay you much and you wont be able to survive, better to get into engineering or mba instead where atleast youll get a decent pay
Beginning years are very irritating for architects and interior designers. . Bohot bure haal hai. . We spend lakhs on education. . We complete sheets like no one and what we get. . 15,20 thousands per month 😢🙁😕🙁🙁😤😓😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
As a BSC nursing student i can assure that BSC nursing field gives the double more than Architecture field. And if you're working as a Teacher of nursing at any Government or Central government college they will pay you more than 1 lkh per month. 😅
@@user-vz9or5fo4pinterior designing is the part of architecture that's why architect all types of work can do easily but if you choose interior than you never become architect.
He is a rich dude and that's why he has such an approach because he has another source for income. For people who struggle with student loan it's just fucked up. And the salary he said will be for a 3 or 4 year experienced architect not a fresher. For freshers it's even low
@@arnoygayen1984 lol seriously? Say what you know bro. Do you know how much a rottring pen cost? Do you know the GPU requirements in most modern softwares hence increasing the laptop cost? @@miamariajoseph7191 i didn't know that. Online websites show that in my state architecture fees are 2-4 lakhs for 5 yrs. First know the meaning of Architecture. Everybody doing it without creativity thn u will earn very less. ARCHITECTURE = CREATIVITY. After completion of ur course initially u will get less salary but once u get creative thn u will earn more thn an software engineer.
I think you have no idea about software engineers. In US google senior SDE salary comes around million dollars per year. And senior architects salary in USA, Won't reach 200$ per year even though they have 20 years experience. (Check-levels.fyi)
PPL want salary with out creativity pls don't join U PPL r thinking about entry level salary . But putting your creativity a side Those who want salary u can go towards software There lots of PPL earning infinity in architecture profession But they did not think about salary They made there dream fullfill.
The bitter truth is the opportunities for architects are replaced with people who know just AutoCAD, Revit like softwares. They don't understand all 3D designers are not architects.Architecture is not about design softwares.
Yeah exactly the initial days are tough but the outcome that comes in the future is great. My mama back in 2010 or something he was earning like 5k per month now he is earning in lacks per month
There are many professional cricketers in india but very few represent for the country. Ranji players dont get that much amount of money but once they get into IPL they play in huge numbers. Architecture is also a very good field but all depends on you how much passionate you are for the next 5-7 yrs after the course.
I left Architects profession. My salary was 25k for 03 yrs. Got Govt job as Receptionist at a Govt hospital then again switched to govt job as medicL clerk.
I am a CA and literally I am laughing I decided to do an architecture degree but then I go for CA and complete all exams in first attempt and become a CA at age of 22 and decide to go for practice and I proudly say that I made 2 cr. I left architecture after 1 year. And started with my commerce degree and Along with that also did bpo jobs which paid me 24k a month. I regretted wasting my 1 year in architecture but later found out it was the best decision of my life

@philciaire To be honest, we wannn do both, mostly Arch, then design. If the planning is good, then somehow I do want to move to architecture later. According to last year's cutoffs on Josaa, my rank doesn't fall in that cutoff, I hope something good happens this year. Also, I've heard that cept doesn't usually accept jee ranks anymore, mostly nata. I have seen on quora that cept accepts jee ranks secretly, maybe? If that's true, then good. Otherwise, through nata, I don't know if they'll accept my board score, which is about 65.
It's normal to reassess your academic and career path, especially if you feel uncertain or unfulfilled. Before making any decisions, consider exploring why you feel this way and what aspects of architecture may be dissatisfying. Perhaps talking to a career counselor or researching alternative fields could clarify your next steps. Remember, it's never too late to pivot and pursue a path that aligns better with your interests and goals. Good luck with whatever decision you make! 📚🌟
