When the Bible tells us that God loves us unconditionally, what does that really mean?

Wonderful Pastor Bob! To understand God LOVE for us is unconditional, He will accept us back, but we are given choice... and that my friends is the important thing, do you choose to accept that love or do you reject it? If you choose to walk away from God, he can't stop you, sadly, that's your choice. I believe Hell is ultimately is the separation of us and God... is that really what you want? Come back and choose His Love again He's waiting just for you! :)

Pastor Bob! As always...great, clear message on the truth!! Thank you for presenting it with the sweet spirit our Lord has given you sir! And could you give a/the quick scripture reference to the points you provided in your podcasts!? Or is there a reason or time constraint you rarely do so!? I know the points on most of the topics you provide are rooted in scripture...Just wondering why you rarely quote them.

Agreed it is an interesting topic to be sure. I just don't think you can go off and continue in sin and expect that the Lord God Almighty is going to go, that's ok, you can treat me like a fool. St. Paul talks about Grace, and what does he say about it, and yes I love this verse, because it stopped me from chucking the whole Christian thing in when I was a teenager. (Paraphrased) We all sin, but does that mean that we should sin more so, so that Grace may abound more so? Certainly not!

does scripture not say that when we accept Jesus as Saviour , we are sealed with the Holy Spirit ? Our behaviour determines rewards in Heaven , but our salvation is unconditional

If we are separated from God, it only by own own choice! God created us to have a choice, as opposed to the Angels. To use the Prodigal Son as an example the son came back, and that's the point the son comes back... if he chooses to continue in his wicked ways, the Father would break his heart over him surely, but He can't accept him back can He?! It's a relationship and a relationship is not a one way street.

Pastor Bob could you please when you have time my friend explain Hebrews 6 4-8 I have a problem understanding those verses in relation to OSAS and losing your salvation. How do you harmonize these scriptures with the other scriptures in John 6 and Corinthians ch 3 etc when it comes to salvation

are you saying if a Christian sins , and doesnt ask forgiveness before he dies , he goes to hell ???? I dont believe that at all . I agree with Pastor Bob . We are already forgiven. Jesus said " It Is Finished "

we will have to agree to disagree on this Our faith makes us righteous is Gods eyes , but its Jesus righteousness he sees when he looks at us , not our own If our salvation depends on our good works , then how many good works are good enough ?? Should we do good works , YES . But if we are believers its not us doing them , its Jesus Spirit in us doing them, and the verse I quoted proves that works do not save us , but it is our faith in Jesus and his blood sacrifice for us that saves us.

Yes our good works come from good.

the wick of the lamp could be lit , even without oil in the lamp , and thats what I believe they did. It doesnt say they had oil , it says in Matthew 25 : 3-4 Those who were foolish took their lamps , but took NO oil with them. But the wise took OIL IN their vessells with their lamps
@timgirl100

so if you believe that the oil represents " good spiritual works " and that the 5 wise virgins were allowed into heaven because they did good works , then how do you explain Romans 4:5 " But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on him that justifies the ungodly , his FAITH is counted for righteousness . we know that God doesnt lie , so this verse contradicts what your saying

At least it is inferred if they are waiting on the Bridegroom, that they believed themselves to be Christian, true? They went off to buy more oil, one would assume getting it right with God at the last minute. Maybe we deviate, I believe I gained the Holy Spirit as I accepted Jesus in my heart (we don't actually accept the God's son Jesus in our hearts, but God understands our meaning) many moons ago. I have the gifts of the Holy Spirit, having prophesied, I must have the Holy Spirit in me!? :)

They believed themselves to be Christian , yes , but they werent. Matthew 7:21 says not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter the Kingdom. Im no expert lol but I think there are people who are " religious " follow all the rules and regulations , but dont have a personal relationship with Jesus. Thats who I think the foolish virgins are . Its an interesting study tho , and a hard one

The oil doesnt mean " good works " The Holy Spirit is referred to as oil in scripture

you think that gods loves everyone ha thats a joke no where in the bible does it say that we are all gods children but it does however say who is his real children and who are they they are the 12 tribes of israel read john 3:16 mathhew 1:21 and acts 5:29 and if your going to say that god so loved the world HE LOVES THE WORLD OF ISRAEL THE 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL

I don't agree, because of what Jesus said, Jesus spoke of the foolish virgins (people that knew Jesus was returning!) that were welcoming the Bridegroom (Jesus), but they had run out of oil (relationship on their side of things) and Jesus said the Bridegroom says I do not know you. (Matthew 25:1-13.) The worry is for me, is that if Christians believe that they can treat their relationship with God trivially, but as I said before, relationship is a 2 way street and we need to up hold our end.
