Thanx for the analysis. That free supercharging is a big deal for us. I rented a M3 a couple weeks ago in PA and I felt like I paid as much supercharging ($0.47 at times) as I would have in gas if I had just gone with the Ford Fusion.
Yes I would agree there are instances where a supercharger is as costly as gas depending on the supercharger. Supercharger cost varies by location. But you can also see it is really only applicable during trips. Assuming you can charge at home.
@kyle42903 yes, test driving is the way to go! I also rented for about a week at a time in the Turo app to make sure I enjoyed it longer than a day. Thanks for the input.
Don't forget the states that add a service charge: The states charging the highest annual EV fees are Washington $225, Georgia $211 and Alabama $20. Four other states charge $200 extra annually from EV owners: Arkansas, Ohio, West Virginia and Wyoming.

My home rate is around $0.38/kWh, but I fortunately have solar so it's basically free. If not, I would paid around $800 for 2.1k kWh I've added to my Tesla.
National Grid in upstate NY has VTOU rate (voluntary time of use) which has a nighttime rate between $.03 and $.13 per kWh over the last 4 years. That includes the combined costs of the supply, service, and taxes/fees.
San Antonio Texas = $0.10/kWh. I've driven for decades (60 year old) and BY FAR, my Tesla is my favorite and least expensive car EVER. And it's caught fire and I've replaced the battery ZERO times. Stop spreading that nonsense (not you RU-vidr, all the haters).
@@DrewsReviews2023 I absolutely love it. As I type, my Tesla is getting the "recall" update. Nope everyone, didn't have to take it to the dealership, it's getting the software update over my WiFi while parked in my garage. The media and haters want to make it a much bigger issue. Back to Drew, I absolutely love my Y, all the storage and the battery being on the bottom (very low center of gravity) so the cornering is awesome. And yes, I do like the spoilers too. Wish mine had one. By far, the safest car ever tested.
