ZIP TIES N BIAS PLIES 🤣😂 I love ya peg your a good ole boy I don’t think you’ll ever kill ol Slave lake she’s here for good and if she ever does go there will be a RU-vid funeral for the ol girl! Giver the ketchup and make Cosby proud
You could power that truck on a mix of used engine oil and David Hasselohoff's blood and drive it through an active volcano and it wouldn't even flinch.
Sounded like it dropped some valves which caused piston damage, this was the most common catastrophic failure I used to see on these old cummins motors usually due to over-revving on a downgrade they can't handle anything over 3,000 or the valves float. When the valves start floating and they hit the pistons and it knocks the keepers out...game over.
3000, I thought was around 2500, good to know, I have 855, and I never push over 2300 because I was always worried about getting to close to the destruction zone.
When I was in my early years in the auto industry, about 17 years ago, I had the pleasure of working on a 1997 F350 7.3L turbodiesel. On that day I had my first lesson in diesel mechanics as well as safety. The engine was a no start issue. My coworker turned the key, I proceeded to spray ether into the airbox. We were totally unaware of what we were doing (both of us inexperienced with diesel). The top of that motor blew up sending me to the floor and shrapnel all over the shop. I am fairly certain that's where my lack of hearing and fear of diesels came from. Haha. It's a memory I will never forget.
After the first few seconds of them spraying, I though “that would suckkk if they dropped a can in the pipe. I didn’t even see the can fall in, but then I saw him pull the pipe off (I thought for some reason the turbo failed) and saw the can and died laughing. 🤣
Great video! It would be cool to strip one of these engines down after it's been partially damaged by doing this, but before catastrophic failure. So we can see what it looks like when it's already limping on it's last legs, but not completely toast.
@Warren what's your email I'll gladly pay you 1500-2000 cash money for that 4bt, I'm halfway done swapping one into my 01 tacoma and on first start up i heard a god awful knocking racket it it dropped one cylinder now it needs a rebuild.
Guys comon i think we are smarter than this. I believe the damage is due to preignition due to fuel air beeing permixed. If you would inject through the injectors i think all would be fine. The ethers are after all a cleaner diesel alt fuel. I believe the same would happen if you sprayed diesel into the turbine.
I've some very strong 855 big cam engines. Had a boss who liked building them extra loose. Thing would smoke out a 10 acre field every morning of winter but after coming to temp the only smoke you'd see was fuel. No problems breaking the speed limits of VA highways with 83,000 lbs.
The thing is, you don't often see anyone blowing up these big diesels properly. I'm saying I like this; and what's wrong with doing just one or two of each kind if they are plentiful? It's really something to see any diesel eat one piston at a time (or whatever) until they're gone.
You can have one “runaway” on lpg with a mixer, I’m sure if you do it right you can even get an idle below redline, mine was just a hair above it before I shut the ignition off and it kept going
I've owned Cummins products primarily, and to watch this old big block die was kinda tough. My first semi had a Big Cam IV in it, and it was a good unit.
I love the old 855's, but that was hilarious. Even funnier! Beat that fender like a rented mule! Barely broke it,touch a mail box post or a gate post and they explode!!!
@@alt572 you probably have a paccar and when it breaks it costs 10k just to diagnose it lmao. These engines are king. Truck drivers today are the biggest losers. Slaving away for a 180k truck only to last 5 years
Yea two people dying in your sick fantasy because you're upset that he's blowing up an old wore out Cummins. It's his fucking time and money get over it douchebag.
Keep the exhaust connected so the smoke doesn’t cover the action at the engine block I’m waiting to see a window open in the side of one of the engine blocks
I would of possibly paid for that engine, emailed you 200 times asking questions and negotiating on the price to then end up wasting all your time by not purchasing it. It would be perfect to sit next to the rest of the shit in my yard the town is threatening me to remove.
I want to say that a 60 series Detroit is being bought for like 8 grand and up un restored and 12v71 are very rare engines. Where just the pistons if you were to part it out you could probably buy that truck 5x over.
There is a direct correlation that for those that find this shit "fun" or Amusing" to intelliegnce level. That correlation is : the more people find this shit fun or amusing the lower their intelligence level is.. Conversely those that think its wasteful or stupid are OBVIOULSLY More intelligent as they see the potential of NOTHING and Making something out of it.. They can appreciate that it is more than Just Iron BUT a hell of a LOT of engineering and precision behind it ..
@@stevenhixburn6195or maybe people can enjoy all matters of entertainment, whether it be pointless destruction like this or meaningful content about the inner workings of a diesel engine. at the end of the day, you find a wicked sense of superiority over “unintelligent” (gearhead) people due to the fact that you CHOSE to watch a video that you didn’t like. you’re weird and should find the ability to have a light heart and just enjoy shit.
The next person to complain about "should have saved a good core" and you're so concerned about its welfare. How about the ol' banger gets delivered to your house, dropped on your steps and you can save it. Then you can go stand on the street and shout "i saved the core".......that nobody gives 2 fks about.
The avg person with a cdl, or diesel interest only can afford to worry about modern engines because that is the only thing most banks finance. It's sad.
You should pull the turbo oil supply line off and put it in the inlet of the turbo for the next one you destroy! Or rig up some sort of external oil feeding so it doesn't lock up from lack of oil in the crankcase. I've always wanted to see one run away on oil.
This guy does something that sounds like real fun to watch and he don't film it for youtube and share a link with us, Come on man whats wrong with you L.O.L. It sounds to me like the Briggs and scrap iron got what it deserved though !
@@billsmith8238 Ok that sounds interesting in one way, but more like a suicide attempt in some others if you are still in the boat, I'm hoping that's not part of the plan ! a friend of my parents, husband choose to remove himself from life last weekend sadly. It kinda sucks she never knew there was a problem that bad until then.
Having watched the video, i need to see the teardown now because I'm calling a "no-blow". I've a feeling all that happened was you bent/burned some valves although the final clunk may have been a piston, but to be different, i call it as you only bent some valves and cremated the turbo. ;) Oh, and have you seen NEUTRAL DROP's channel? they do some pretty entertaining content too, as well as ol' Peg. Peace out man
It's the commenter's Computers, mobile devices and Internet connections. why do you ask? People ROUTINELY critique movies songs and other media Like they have done here Whats the FUCKING difference? Why do you feel they are upset ?
Well that was a special type of fun that my wife would never get... I was a student in the Diesel program at Santa Rosa Jr College and my instructor gave me the thumbs up on fabricating a heat exchanger using the waste heat off the exhaust stack. The purpose of the heat exchanger was to thin up the viscosity of used veggie oil and let the Cat motor suck it back up as fuel. We had attached a water brake to measure horse power difference between veggie oil vs real diesel. Anyways half way into the semester some of the piston had enough of this BS and went on strike. They melted and exploded like a volcano. No one got hurt but it was truly amazing when the exhaust started pouring orange sparks all over the shop floor.
Haha, dangerous! Engine was far away. I like the intake setup. If that rig would have hung a valve and back fired you guys would loose eyebrows at the least.
Love to see you try and blow up an IVECO engine. We have one in a FIAT loader and the damn thing doesn't stop. Weve ran it out of oil till it wouldn't turn over added oil and it fired right up. We had it sitting for five years till the vines took it over and I told a buddy of mine it would fire right up on the shitty diesel still in it. That it did but it took off wfo because the pedal was rusted to the floor.. great videos. Love to see you kill one of the IVECO 's
"Elimination of the competition" That's what this video should be named. Also where are all the haters? I'd figure there world be a lot more since I'd say the 855s are more legendary engines than the 8v71s. By this time with the 8v71 destruction video, there were 2000 angry commenters and 60% more dislikes than likers. Funny how that all works. Anyway, great video!
An old miled out White, that is MISSING A DRIVE AXLE! Sure, you could make a shit ton of money with that. If someone is that desperate for a trucking job, they won't be buying a truck. They will be going to work for a trucking company, driving a company truck.
Try putting holes in those cans, some how to get the liquid out. Pour them in a commercial lawn spray bottle and then pressurize that with the hand pump and u can spray a whole lot inside at once. Trick is how do I get the either out of the can with out exploding it.
Thanks for the MINTY entertainment. Better than TV. You put the "FUN" in FUNeral. hahaha. I bet that was chunks of piston going out the exhaust pipe. Hope to see the teardown vidya one day.
I can imagine the conversation between them: Hey Billy boy I just found me three dozen cans of ether what do you wanna do? Well I got me an old truck and it's crap because I ain't know how to drive that son of a gun right then there Hey I know let's take some of that there ether and spray it on the engine and see if it dies.
Was the engine already going out? Why did you decide to blow her up? I mean that was a sweet video but kinda wasted a truck. Not hating just want to know why.
