Hey girl, love this video! Just wanted to let you know that you should be charging wayyyyyy more for user generated content. These brands are using your videos you create for them on their socials and making ads out of them. You’re basically doing their marketing job for them. Instead of them paying for advertising, they reach out to people to make ads for them. They definitely have a larger budget for these UGC’s. I can see why you would think to charge less but these brands use these generated content for a long time. You should definitely be charging more sis!!
This is a very helpful video. I just got my first to reach outs from companies, and I really was struggling on how to respond. I freely admit, that this first one that sounds very interesting, and matches. My niche is a product for content relationship. But I like how you have developed from that way of engaging with companies to a more sophisticated way of being compensated for your time. Thank you so much for all of us neophytes out here trying to navigate this landscape that we didn’t anticipate happening in our journey. Thank you!
This was such a great video… so helpful! I’m just getting into UGC so I really appreciate it. Also, I LOVE what you do for the small businesses that approach you :) New subscriber here ✨
This just popped up in my feed as I subscribed to you recently 😊 I have to say I have never seen anyone share so much on this!! I’ve been doing RU-vid for 4 years and I guess no matter how much research I’ve done it’s so hard to find info on it.. I realized I haven’t raised my rates in way too long lol I just have always kinda guessed 🤷🏻♀️
Ahh thank you so much for your comment!! I agree, I found this subject to be very tight lipped but I believe that it benefits everyone to know what the right rates are to charge!! It helps brands know what to expect and it helps content creators not get taken advantage of! It can be hard to raise your rates initially but the right brands will value your work & those are the ones you want to work with anyway!!❤️❤️❤️ I love your channel btw
Great tips!! Especially about the industry standards for nano/micro influencers in regards to deliverables. I use IG and YT as my main platforms, and between the two I have a total of 263 followers/subs. I calculated my rates by the 4% and 6% standard, and the result is actually a number that I feel was a bit too low, BUT I would definitely use the rule of thumb in the future!
I am so glad you enjoyed the tips!! And yes I totally agree! This is a pretty generalised rule & I would always charge what you feel you are worth (the quality of the work, the time & effort you put into the worth & then your engagement) I always encourage to charge a little bit more because a lot of the times the brand will knock down your rate anyway!! All the best on your journey ❤️❤️❤️
I do have a question. If you can, please take out time to answer, I would really appreciate. Assuming you need to create UGC for 3 skincare brands in a week and you could, would you do it? Knowing that they’ll be using the video around the same period. Because people would be wondering- I saw her face on two other products, how do we trust her? How do we trust the brand?
To each its own but I actually charge WAY more for user generated content as I don't want anyone having perpetual rights of my content but if they want it then they will have to pay a pretty dime.
Omg 6% for video?! I've pitched around that range for my TikToks but I feel TikTok is such a new area that it's the wild west when it comes to rates we deserve. But now I feel more confident standing by my price in the future. I feel 6% for my youtube following makes sense THANK YOU
Yeahhhh, I've been doing paid sponsors for almost a year and I've NEVER gotten close to that kind of percentage. With my following 6% would be $21k per video....I'm generally more like $1k....not sure where she's getting her brands paying those percentages....I'd love to find them!
Such a great video! I actually own a small fashion brand in NZ and I am wanting to have more UGC on my social platforms, so this was super helpful for me too ☺️ When you create UGC, does the brand usually gift you the product as well as payment? Or do you often just use the product for the content and then return it? X
Please I have a question!! If you are a small creator and you post content about a big brand and they reach out to you asking you for permission to use your content on their social platforms, can you charge them?
Thank you for this video. It was super helpful! When it comes to UGC content how did you find these agencies to work with? It’s definitely something I want to do more of!
You're so welcome! I would search up UGC Agencies on instagram and/or google and depending on your location, a few should come up! Thats how I found the ones I work with!!❤
Hi! How much should you charge per image and usage for a brands website? No posting on my end. I had a brand reach out and would like to use my images on their site
Oh you’re so sweet, thank you!! Yes absolutely!! the agencies I work with give me a brief, with a description of the work/brand and the rates and then I am apple to accept the job or pass. 🥰❤️
