Congrats Kenji! I'm about to start medical school and I just want to say thank you so much. My favourite content is really when you delve into your own struggles and emotions. Sometimes watching a lot of med RU-vidrs it makes me feel as if they are so out of touch with my life that it makes our common goal of becoming a doctor feel distant. So thank you for taking the time to create truly wholesome and honest content. I'm sure this has helped many people who find them in similar positions of self-doubt push through.
Such an informative video. And so nice of you to show us the actual pay check and so in depth. A lot of RU-vidrs would put up that thumbnail but wouldn’t share it in the video lol
Yup. It's basically hospitality worker pay. One of my son's worked at a Neil Perry restaurant as a waiter and taking into consideration base wage plus tip share he was effectively earning around $35 per hour ( all the Open tennis players, the Formula One drivers, AFL and NRL players and all the various entourage go there) My other son earns a lot as a pool life guard!
Seems like emergency services pay is similar all around. Working for the police I earn less, but that's understandable considering the years of training a doctor has. For sure we have job training too, but not intensive as junior doctors do. Hoping to go up a pay band though this year to bring it up to £30,000 plus. I hope junior doctors' pay as well as allied to medicine jobs go up some point in the near future.
Please keep making content like this one. As a final year medical student who wishes to work in NHS, the kind of information this video provides is so helpful. Thanks as always!
Pretty sure you should still pay tax on your first paycheck... The 12k allowance is divided up into the 12 months .... So i would just check your tax code before you get any nasty surprises!
They would have to complete tye test PLAB u think which has 2 parts part A is theory base and part B is practical which taking blood , examination and etc.
@@faddyoraha7151 oh not really the GMC has made it clear that from 2021 or 2022 that all non UK graduates have to that exam which I have said before in my comment above
@@xavier4260 from 2024 all non UK and UK graduates will do a new exam called UKMLE. For now in some eu countries you graduate from you can get the full registration, but in others only provisional and therefore you go through foundation program
This is a joke of a salary I’m a 4th year med student and it’s so much work already I need more money than that to feel compensated for the 10 years and all the money I spent in education so far
@@DoctorKenji have you ever thought about becoming a doctor in the USA? You can look up the salaries online, quite a stark difference to say the least.
Maybe a stupid question here from Germany, but do have to go to the graduation partys and all that, if you don't have the money. I didnÄt went to university, but after my two year long academy training, they had also a graduation party, but some of us, me inkluded, refused to visit it, because we didn't have the money, so it was ok. We just got our certificates in the school rooms then. Would be interesting how taht works in UK.
Holy cow....our CNAs and LPNs in the US make more than $14/hr!!! This is awful. How in the world anyone can afford working and living in the UK is beyond me.
Wow. Hospitality staff in Australia are paid more than Junior doctor in London. Holy cow. My son works as a pool life guard and earns a base wage of $35 ph or $105 ph on public holidays. I know I know the increase is exponential for a doctor, but still, that's insane.
