I really just want to hope that it's just a wholesome thing where Clay just unironically knows that his brother's works better, or feels better with mules and donkeys and they just never get them. so it's like he's not saying it in a weird way, he's unironically a little glad that his brother finally gets something that he is really good with working with, so he doesn't feel like he's just standing around doing nothing.
