My personal opinion is to live close to your work. It will all make sense once you calculate the expenses and convenience. When I moved from Calgary a month back, I chose to live in Vancouver downtown coz my work is in Yaletown. You just have to find a good affordable room. I got a room for $850 plus my work is walking distance. The best thing about downtown is everything you need is there. There are groceries, restaurants and a beautiful park.
Hi Jan, thank you for sharing your experience. $850 for a place close to downtown? What a steal! Yes, you're right - although Vancouver is considered a relatively expensive city to live in, there are plenty of ways around it. You can definitely live here without breaking the bank if you are smart with finances. I will probably talk about finances later on on my channel. But again, thank you for your input. Take care! :D
Hey bud how you feel about prices now? You have an interesting and very precise view on the way you should be living very close to your work I think I've heard this rhetoric before.... Perhaps the suggestion of you know 15 minutes or less works for you😅 is that kind of what you're doing right now😂 Soon the disparity between your ability to travel and what you work and make will make it so that you won't be able to leave at all and then definitely stay exactly where you are.😮 Good luck.
Yeah hey thank you so much for taking the time to listen to me explain each city in the Metro and for finding my comparisons helpful. I wish you all the best! 😊✨

Thank you for sharing this valuable information. I'm now on decision of my further my study in whether Vancouver or Saskatchewan. If you have more information about other cities, it would be great 😊👍

Hello!👋 Kmusta po? New subscriber here. Ask ko lang, is Western Community College in Surrey ideal for an incoming international student po? Thanks in advance for ur reply🙏

Hello mam, I am about to Land in Richmond BC on December. Any tips where to look for room for rent ? Magisa lang po ako. Particularly sa ALDERBRIDGE RICHMOND BC
Definitely anywhere in the downtown Vancouver area but rent is premium there! Since the school is easily accessible being right across a train station with a high traffic area, you may consider looking at Vancouver’s neighbouring cities like Burnaby, New West or Richmond - relatively cheaper rent options, but school is still within reach via bus/train!
That is an excellent question. It’s better to have those funds prepared prior to jumpstarting your journey to Canada. You need all the support you can get.
Hi, i am planning to come to North island college on 2022 January intake with my husband. Can you please give me few tips to find a 1 bedroom house rentals before moving to Courtenay/ Comox Valley, BC, Canada.
Rent downtown is ridiculous high. 1 bedroom 1500 to $ 2000. Any where else is pretty much same ballpark really. No use complicate this rent crisis we are in. $ 1200.to $ 5000 for. A suite 1 bedroom to a whole house that will be up up to $ 5000. There is no cheap rent in vancover anywhere. Simple. So you need to make good money to live here if you expect your own apartment it will cost you at least $ 1300 anywhere lowermainland
There’s one school I mentioned in this video that’s in Victoria. It is relatively cheaper overall but it still depends on the program and school you choose to attend. :)
I used to like Vancouver but not anymore, so does my wife and so do my 3 daughters! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! I am saying this as a Belgian)! I have some African colleagues at work here and 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa or move to Europe as soon as they get enough experience in canada)! Same go for most of my French colleagues as well who really want to head off back to Europe as soon as they finish their contract. Almost None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada and endure loneliness in a country that is far from Europe! None of us want to endure the triage way at Canadian hospitals or wait for months to get a surgery (in Europe, we do not have to face that) and beyond everything, None of us want to get pensions that can cover our cost of living… but for that, I have to come back to France or Belgium where it come from. So sorry Canada!
Hi Rachel my daughter is planning to study a 1 year program in Toronto...is there any advantage if I have some relatives there in Vancouver to pursue her dreams to work there in Canada as well...Thanks!
Yes, there are plenty of advantages if your doctor plans on moving to Vancouver with relatives living there as well. First, you may be able to save on accommodation given that there is a possibility to live with relatives. It’s also a good question for your daughter to transition with less challenges, knowing that she has a support system on her side. Finally, interns of job opportunities, and building a social network - your daughter can definitely get that in Vancouver! Overall, it’s a no-brainer for me if she considers to pursue studies in one of the best cities in the world 😊💕 In fact, I made a video on the advantages of studying in Vancouver here (if interested): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A1rXmjf4yMA.html
I will be coming this Dec. And will be studying in UCW. Perhaps, do you know some cheap apartments near UCW? Like 30mins away para hindi mismo sa Vancouver and para di ganun ka mahal. Thank u!! 😊
Hello!👋 New subscriber here. Ask ko lang, is Western Community College in Surrey ideal for an incoming international student po? Thanks in advance for ur reply🙏
Depends on the location. But generally, it’s more expensive since it’s near an area where there’s a lot of foot traffic. Expect $1,000 to $3,000 per month. I gave such a wide range bc price is location dependent too.
I’ve been hearing that University a lot! All I know right now is that they are a Designated Learning institution(so this school qualifies you for a study permit) AND they also offer PGWP (which means you can work in Canada after graduation. It’s also nestled at the heart of downtown Vancouver (which is the pride and joy of the city). As for the programs offered in that university....I am not familiar sorry. It will take me some time to research on that but they do have the information all in their website, so try to check that out instead but I hope that I somehow answered your question. 🥰👍🙏
Yes, the transit system in Vancouver is quite efficient. From experience, I use transit every day to travel from home, work and school within the Metro Vancouver area whatever the season! In short, yes you can 🥰😋
Good day.. is cost of living in smithers city bc affodable or i mean low. Any idea po thanks.. because were trying to enroll mountain Coast College this Jan 2023 intake. Thanks po.
@@rrdancel Cree territory. Sask party is spreading propaganda and a whole bunch of other provinces claim we are Canadian and took away the rights of half breeds even tho they are still Cree regardless of the indian act
Very true. Cost is quite high in Vancouver. Also to note, there more skilled work in bigger cities like Vancouver and Toronto. That is why many people move to big cities to find those skilled jobs. Because of this, it increases competition for housing, which drives up the price for housing.
@@rrdancel good point, it has something to do with the geography. A city by the mountains and ocean. Other factor that drives up the property prices are the foreign investors, particularly Chinese.
I live in Surrey and my monthly rent for 1 bedroom apartment is $700 it used to be $590 when I moved in back in 2013,so sister do your research properly. Thank you
I got those rent numbers from Liv.rent and CMHC, which are very reputable sources. They hire researchers and statisticians, so I did not conjure this number from out of nowhere. You should be happy because you’re renting below market rent, which is due to various factors like location, size of apartment, amenities available in your apartment, the condition of your apartment and other various factors. So if you don’t like the number, then i don’t know what to tell you because this based on reliable research. So this is not misinformation, brother.
Hi Jin, Yes you are correct in that the living cost in Vancouver is very high. The other problem is that many people are still choosing to live in Vancouver and are moving here in high numbers. But since most of the parks are free to roam, people can still find enjoyment appreciating the city views during their leisurely stroll 🥰 there’s always something to look forward to 😌
Best option i think is apply for us citizenship. More jobs, better weather, no more icbc, cheaper housing. Canada was great. Just not worth it anymore.
