No Way GM Quality is not worth these prices..! I can see if this was a Lexus!! but over a $1000 for 5 to 6 years to drive a Tahoe ..LMOA Then it will be worth nothing when and if you pay it off.. What a waste of money!! Thanks for the info CD!
We rank very high in 3rd party reliability and dependability studies. Matter of fact we are one of 3 NON luxury brands in the top 10. Chevy is outranking luxury brands Cadillac, Audi, Acura, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover. I think alone is pretty impressive.
Overpriced hunk of metal that’s worth nothing at the end of the term. Folks if you can’t pay cash for your vehicle you can’t afford it. You need to watch Dave Ramsey and read some financial books. Purchasing is the biggest loser anyone can do in their lifetime. Sorry CD I love your videos but it’s all a waste of money. Wife drives a 2004 Honda Accord and I drive a 2013 Honda Accord both paid cash at new and love them. Wife’s car has 315k miles and mine has 60k no problems runs like a champ. Sister in law has a 2010 Tahoe top of the line conversion too what a disaster, dashboard is all plastic and has cracked in several places she’s had problem after problem. Not to mention the paint is worn in several places and dealer doesn’t want to warranty it.
200HIT those prices are also full MSRP which no fool would ever pay. I got to imagine 2021 is going to be a disaster for the automotive industry and everything once we get done throwing trillions into the stock market. People better get ready I know I am.
200 HIT this is a fact. I actually really like the styling of the GM trucks and SUVs. To an extent, I’m a fan. That said, you don’t get your moneys worth in content or quality. It’s not debatable when you can stack options and prices comparatively to other brands. As far as reliability, I’ve been selling used vehicles for 10 years and without a doubt the worst full size trucks and SUVs are a Ford with their cam phasing VVT and Chevy with their pitiful rear ends (spider gears) and tick happy motors. The 6.2s are junk. At these prices you are taking the same risk as owning German junk. Lease or go for the low end model.
I would not buy a Tahoe for these prices it's crazy. I priced out a 2020 LT - MSRP was $60,475 dealer was discounting by $5k and my interest rate was 1.9% for 60 months, doc fee was $699 plus 6.6% taxes OTD $59,881 - less $10k down payment - payments were $872!
@@LinLi-hi1zj credit cards can be dangerous if you don't understand how to make it work for you, and if you're being stupid/irresponsible with them. But, if you're wise, responsible and learn how to make the credit card work for you then you're set. Many young people aren't taught anything about credit cards or finance in general.
@@katieghoul0092 I totally agree with you.. If you spend your CC right, your score can jump the roof and help you out in future situations. Finance a car can work in a person benefit as well, if the agreement of the car and the down-payment all works out for everyone. My mind set was, go for a long finance plan, but pay if off in 2-3yrs.. And that's what I have done.
MR. Smith so you really think it’s gonna last 300k??? Huge gamble on a persons part either way because it’s never gonna be worth what you pay for it in the end including all that interest.
MR. Smith and what do you think Chevy dude is gonna tell you??? Exactly what you just said while you’re a contract signing away from buying a 70k Chevy Tahoe.
MR. Smith excellent for you, continue to listen to mike and plunk down your cash and enjoy your depreciated item as you drive out the lot, we don’t give a shit either.
Trust me you can negotiate the Msrp of a Tahoe it’s a Chevy Tahoe you can get it down to 45k if you stay hard the more my dad just bought a suburban brand new 2019 got it down to 50k lol don’t be an idiot and negotiate when they say there is no discounts go walk away and leave there is always discounts especially if it’s Chevy 😂😂
Miracle Man I co own and work for Chevy dealers. We are not discounting and all of the dealers around Metro Detroit, which is known as discount city, are not negotiating. The demand is so high they’re selling at sticker off the truck. If you can’t afford it, wait a few years and buy one then.
Null bro great for you here in Nj different story Tahoe’s are not popular here to much maybe by Detroit because it’s the south dawg but here they are bro if a dealer says no discounts then I’m out dawg I’m not a idiot 😂😂 it’s a Chevy after all 😂😂 www.hawthornechevrolet.com/? no one is discounting huh well I’m seeing different around my area 😂😂😂
I like playing the lease game - always get a new car every 3 years, or if your residual is low you get a great deal on a car you love and know how it was treated since new. Leases may not be for everyone, but they have worked great for me.
Yeah, these machines are pricing a lot of people out! My wife and I make together 90K a year and we would not be able to afford one of these unless we had free housing.
This is similar to my wife and I with a combined 108K annual income. Her Tahoe is a 2007 with 190k miles so we're looking at a new 2021 Tahoe but I just can't see the budget for one after mortgage, retirement savings, utlities & expenses and a annual vacation it just don't leave enough to cover this kind of payment. Whats crazy is you see the 2016-2020 Tahoes everywhere on the roads so how are families affording these things without going over their head financially.
@@cy9254 Put the car in their business name. Or they are making over 200k a year..for a monthly payment on these SUV'S are to much. I would rather get a vette for these prices.. But you do have a family in the house hold that make good money and can afford these
I remember when $50,000 was the price for a top of the line Corvette, not the base model on today's version of the family station wagon. Not even 40 yet and I'm already complaining about the price of things like an old man... :/
I’m not sure how I feel about the new Tahoe’s. Saw one the other day and wasn’t to impressed. Maybe I need to see one again before I judge to much but right now I like the previous model better.
I just got the new model 2022. It drives so much smoother than the older ones. Also better features. I was fortunate enough to get financed at 1.99% and had a great trade in value for my traverse. My payments are definitely way under $800. Best advice is have your vehicle built. I paid $12k less this way and have more features than the ones the dealers ordered for their lots. When I asked why the dealer said it’s because people don’t want to wait for their vehicle to be made. I waited 3 months
Wow!!! Wow!!!! Wow!!! That’s insane to see. Great info and video!! But it’s crazy to think people want to spend that kind of money on a vehicle. Unless it’s a work vehicle that makes you money. When you were showing the $1400. That’s a mortgage payment. If you’re gonna buy something with that kind of payment. Make sure it’s making you money every month. It’s just amazing to think people are so stupid and spend their money so badly trying to look rich instead of being rich.
Once you drive it off the lot, your insurance will go up and your yearly tags are gonna cost you a pretty penny as well! This is nuts!!! Very informative video though, great job with the breakdowns! 👍🏼
I can remember when you could finance an airplane (Cessna 172 Skyhawk) for less than what we're talking about here. Of course that was in 1978 when planes were costing $55,000.00 dollars. Back then the finance terms were 10 years. In my mind, that was forever. Now vehicles are approaching that. CRAZY. And folks are able to do it. Incredible!
Omg that is expensive... the last model better looking.. the average joe can't afford this payment. Im better off buying house instead... thanks for the info thou.
It all depends on the vehicle, i bought a new 2020 tacoma trd offroad because used prices were 2-4k more than new. Even pre pandemic prices were almost as new.
@@IzaguirreC I know right. I was looking at a TRD Off road 4Runner and it just makes more sense to buy a new one. I also noticed the TRD off road Tacoma's were the same in that regard. Toyota I guess.
What about 0% 72 months. I'm sure you'll be saving bout 100 to 150 a month on payments. $927 a month Z71 63k with 6 % sales tax Pay the TLC up front Just saying
An LS for 53k they are out of their mind. I remember back in 2019 I wanted to buy an LS for 40k and the dealer was asking for 45k OTD. I walked away. Ended up buying a 2005 LT tahoe used 110k miles for $4.500 cash and installed a back up camera and saved 40k. Glad I never bought the tahoe with this pandemic it would've been stressful making these payments.
bought a 2021 tahoe z71 in early 2022. paid $87k includes $10k market adjusted price. didn't have the 360 camera or power fold rear seats. dealership told me the 2022's won't be in until 2023. yeah, i got ripped off, LoLz.
Chad’s be all, “Car dealers are always trying to rip you off!! They want $1000/month for a new Tahoe! My buddy got one for $625!” Reality be like: “No dude, math ripped you off and your buddy is a unicorn.”
@@dell7054 Most likely their buddy works for the dealership, friend, or a family member. My coworker helped me buy my first new car and he also worked at a dealership part time. I paid out the door $16k instead of the MSRP $23k.
Gaming Hubby Who in the hell works at a dealership “part time” besides the kids who wash the cars? I’m pretty sure they don’t have the pull to get anyone a car half price. I’m either calling BS or it was used or a car they had for damn near a year.
I KH Nobody got it for $600. It was a joke. People act like math doesn’t apply to a car loan. They want a $600 payment on an $80,000 car which doesn’t work without a MASSIVE down payment.
@@chancock4222 Clearly my coworker works part time at the dealership as previously stated. Once more it was a new car. Seams like the facts are causing you to get upset.
Idk how people cant figure out their monthly payment Just google car loan calculator and pumch in numbers.....pretty basic stuff You should know b4 you set foot in dealership....bring in a couple of different scenarios if not sure about int rate or DP Very easy to do Just like inflation goes up so do car payments....$300-400 payments were 10 yrs ago.... It's simple math....anything over 50k is gonna be $800....idk where confusion is....its not 2003 anymore
High Country is now in Lexus LX and Infinity QX80 territory. With LX or QX you get lot more standard equipment that you pay for in High Country, plus Infinity currently offers 0% APR on 72 months. New generation Chevy Tah and Suburb has gotten ridiculously expensive.
Yeah that’s a problem when you’re selling a $62,000 vehicle for fucking $80,000 yeah you’re gonna have a fucking problem finding a payment at 800 a month you’re fucking criminal stock price conditioning
Hey buddy it's me #MakeItWorkWithYosh I must say your video was amazing explaining to the people how it works when going to purchase a truck or car. Keep up the great videos Mike aka #ChevyDude 🤓🤓💪
I wouldn't pay more then 50k for the top level trim, its a chevy come on. All cars loose money but atleast a Toyota or lexus will still last another 5 to 7 years after paying it off this shit wont even make it 84 months lmao
chevy doesn’t get a good resale value. Why should i get Chevy for that price if can get lexus for that price? Besides gas prices are way too high for V8 engine.
This is a great breakdown of reality. I do believe the interest rates are a little high. You can get mid to low 3's pretty easily for 60, even 72 month financing right now. However, on top of the breakdown that Mike puts together, you still have not factored in the cost of the extended warranty, paint protection, etc.
That is true, but there are a lot of people who don't have rates like that. Then the question would be, why look for a car your can't afford lol.. But reality is they would still like to get into a car like this
If GM, Ford, Chrysler would offer a truck or SUV with manual door locks, crank windows, am/fm stereo, and an air conditioner....and nothing else....like in the old days.....id gladly pay $15,000-$$20,000 cash for a new truck.
These cars are absolutely worth the money. Why? Because people keep buying them (financing them). Value is what someone is willing to pay. That aside, Tahoes aren't the fastest depreciating vehicles out there, especially in this market. With all that, I still say buy used, but some people can't find what they want right now.
I plan on getting a used 2019 Sierra Denali the price on it is 56k with 1k monthly payment there still no other way to bring them payments down? Even if it’s used I plan to put down 5k
Everybody knows the Tahoe and suburban are over priced. I think it’s because Chevy want to lean into making it a luxury vehicle. If it’s a new figure of wealth or the Jones, the last thing they want is poor people zipping around in it. I get it. Lol. The same way high fashion will burn their unsold merchandise instead of sending it to the Ross or Marshals for resale. It cheapens it.
I have a budget of $1100 for vehicles Wich is $450 for my 2019 Silverado and $610 for wife's new pathfinder. When I'm done with those I'll get a Z71 Tahoe for myself as a baby.
I agree with you but u think GM is gonna price them out of the market. My 2012 suburban was $63K sticker. Same truck now is prob $82K. Thats $20K in 8 years. Even back in 2017 when I was looking it was $75K.
Great breakdown of payments. My sister in law use to work in Ford's finance department & she once told me that all most people are concerned about is their monthly payment regardless of the price of the vehicle. Personally, I can't even imagine having an 800+ monthly payment for 5 or 6 yrs. But I guess many people don't mind it at all. I remember way back in '79 when I was a mechanic for Chevy i ordered a new '79 Camaro Z28 fully loaded. The car stickered for around 11ish & with the employee discount I paid around 7,000 with a monthly payment somewhere around 130.00 per month. Man have times changed or what. When i retired in '13 I purchased a new '12 Ford Taurus Limited fully loaded as a retirement gift to myself. The car stickered at around 40,000. Since they were clearing out the '12 models to make room for the '13's through negations & with my father in law employee discount I paid around 22,000 & paid cash saving a ton of money. Quite the savings indeed. I couldn't pass that up. To date that car has been one of the best & most trouble free reliable vehicle's I've ever owned. Never had been a Ford man until then. Ha, that's when I became a Ford guy. Absolutely love the car. Smooth riding, comfortable, easy handling & the most quiet & by that I mean absolutely no road noise or other traffic noise whatsoever...with the exception of a semi truck passing. Probably will be the last car I will ever buy.
