Thank you Brian, I love your description of how you were healed by being in nature. The folks concerned about medical issues might not have discovered that happy relaxed people who walk often in nature, stay healthy. We are healed just being in nature, loving simplicity. And for me, quiet time walking in nature reminded me to let go and forgive.

This is true, In my time I have healed from a few serious issues, (I was a driver for a lot of my lofe and ate a lot of junk_ I overcame WITHOUT medications. Four heart attacks and a four way bypass, two strokes and a decade on the streets in major depression. I once lived as a reader in Sedona. I could feel the energy there,

Really good video Brian! Great info and I appreciate you sharing your finances. This gives the rest of us a true picture of what to expect. I like your level headed approach and common sense logic. You keep it real and avoid the drama and the BS. I predict your channel is going to grow and be one of the more successful vandweller channels on RU-vid. Please don't change a thing. Thanks and safe travels!

There are good seasonal jobs in Alaska. They need workers in stores and cafes for their short tourist season, workers in fish processing plants, etc.

Wow,You have some guts to hit the road with 2k in the bank. All I can say is that you have been very fortunate that you have a reliable van.I'm in process of going mobile but can't do the van life like you have. I've quit my job, am selling my house and all my possession's to live free. I have a travel trailer and am going to see America and work camp as well. I plan on being at Quartzite next year. Good luck in your travels and keep the videos coming.

Great video, awesome information! Based on the numbers, net combined income from two workforce jobs, 6,500 net in just 10 weeks, and average monthly expenses of 600 bucks, dude, you've almost bankrolled a year's worth of on the road living in just ten weeks! That's amazing! And I'm assuming that you should be getting a tax refund on top of that.

Enjoyed the couple of videos of yours that I've seen. As far as travel budget, in truth there's some other things I consider in any monthly budget: 1. Medical and dental expense. 2. Mail. Do you keep a mail address? if so, that's a cost. 3. Parking Fees - Personally, I mix stealth camping, Walmart camping, rest stop camping, truck stop camping, boondock camping, and state/national parks camping. The latter is an expense. They charge $20 - $25 a night. 4. Stuff. $100. For me anyway, there's always something every month - something breaks, or I need eye glasses, or a better camera, upgraded software, my cat has to go to the vet. Just this and that. It adds up, and it's EVERY month!

Kim X not exactly true. When you fill out your taxes you are asked if you looked and if you could afford it. If you could not, like I could not, you are given an exception like I got. In CT, lowest insurance was $680/month with a $5k deductible which I could not afford. I use TurboTax and the questions were asked my the program.

People in general spend crazily on things they want, new toys , and when you’re living on the road you buy what you need more-so. If people spent on need and not a ho hum want, they’d save money. If you cant live on 36000 you’re outside your means, and thats not ragging on you because i did the very same thing.

Well done, Brian. You are doing really well. From someone old enough to be your mother and who has lived a frugal and experience-filled life: put aside a percentage into a rainy-day fund. Have a not-allowed-to-touch-it savings account. Even if you never have bad luck, it will be there for you when you need it and, in the meantime, relieves you of financial worry.

Good information in your video. Something else nomads / van dwellers might want to think about is Social Security. I never hear about self employed nomad people paying into Social Security. That's about 40% of my income, now that I'm retired. If a person doesn't pay into SS, they will never get anything back when older and unable to work a decent job. At this point in my life, I'm really glad I had jobs that paid into SS fir me so I now can make ends meet.

I want to give you credit for having planned this out. You had work and back up cash before you took off. Some people on here think they can decide on a life style with no plan at all on how they are going to pay for it. If you were one of these people you would beg $300.00 to buy your tires. Instead, you had the money to buy tires.I like your attitude and hope you end up with 60,000 subs. You deserve it.

You might look into getting skills to join IBEW. You would start with non-skilled positions that pay only minimum wage. However, if you are reliable and dependable gradually the "old timers"will start to train you so you can eventually qualify for much higher paying positions. Now you are of the age when you should start improving your skills and prepare for the future. Believe me when I tell you that time flies. sanjosemike
