How much it costs to eat vegan in the most expensive city in the world? 

Switzerland is expensive, but the quality of the food is much higher than other countries, I found in my limited experience there. And Hiltl is truly a next-level vegan buffet. I wish we had one where I live.

We often holiday in Switzerland largely in the canton of Ticino as being older we like train and boat journeys and my partner is disabled. We always try to go self-catering and core staples involve hitting the supermarkets for oatmeal and soy drink and wholegrain bread plus fruit and jam. I usually also buy some potatoes to turn into baked potatoes in a microwave and also get prewashed salad mixes Usually only doing one meal out a day usually in an Italian restaurant unless we find a vegan one. BTW we check out Dean & David who are more a German company but they also have at least a branch near Basel Hbf which we use if we are changing trains in Basel. They have vegan options and the vegetables are fresh and cooked the same day.

Zurich is much less than when I was last there in 2011. I remember going to a McDonald's (I wasn't vegan then) and I remember a Big Mac meal costing like $20-30 USD.

I would think that buying something vegan at a gluten free bakery would be harder because they generally use so many eggs in gluten free baking recipes.

Seemed pretty affordable for traveler food since 15 Swiss Francs is under $17 US. The savory stuff looked yummy. And great scenery!

Converting to AUD this is pretty much what we pay in Australia for worse options (plenty of good stuff in Melbourne and parts of Sydney & Brisbane though). Usually "vegan option" in Aus means pay the same price to have ingredients removed lmao but it's great to see that less regressive countries are more convinient to vegans. Australia has a big anti-vegan culture

I thought you were gonna compare prices to what you would've bought as an omnivore, that would've been interesting. It was fun "spending the day" with you through this video though. I would've wanted to get a small sample of almost everything at that buffet, though I don't like anything spicy. Thank you for your vegan Zürich tour. Very nice indeed. I recently read an article about a bakery in Paris where they make vegan croissants !!!! So, perhaps your next stop will be Paris🥐🥐🥐 PS. I'm from Denmark where cinnamon rolls (kanelsnegle) are almost part of the diet😂 Living abroad and not being able to buy them now, I started to bake my own without egg and milk, and they taste nice
