it can be done with 10.000 dolars. You do not have to buy everything new and you can also rent the stuff you need. Just pay atention to location, stuff members, concept and be a friend with all the people who are stepping in.
@@jmlepunk thats not true at all. There are great machines which do a great job for 2-5k. You dont need the best machine on the market. And the machine isnt even that important. Beans you you use, blender barista etc are all way more important than the machine. I know people who opened cafes in germany and spain for 15-40k and they looked amazing and are still running
Already 3 mins in the clip: "now let's dive in straight", gosh... Then later all again. I understand YT is business but it's repelling to watch a 25 min video of 15 min actual content at most
Thank you so much for explaining! I really want to open my own coffee shop in the future, but I’m not quite sure what kind of funds I’ll need. This really helped :)
this is hilarious. You can literally open a coffee shop for 15k. This is like when people say to open a subway is 250k. You can literally do it without the subway name for also about 15k
Not so fast. First -- consider the building permits if you're going to make any changes to the space. Then consider how much a contractor will charge to build the space to your specifications ($100 per sq/ft minimum). Then pay the health department and their fees. Shoot, the sign alone on my cafe cost $5,000, and it's nothing special. Just illuminated letters. The rent will be somewhere in the $2-4 per sq/ft range, then NNN. The deposit on a lease on a 1000 sq/ft cafe alone would be about $ 9000 (first, last, security. Just what I mentioned here, you're well above $15,000. Now, go buy equipment and supplies. Then some milk and beans. Make sure you have three months in reserve because you can't expect to start slinging 400 cups per day on day one. Be safe and start with $100,000 minimum.
Much love now I know what to do to open my coffee shop in CA Santa Monica there is always foot traffic my shop will be there, much love and I appreciate you brother
Love this initial breakdown! Grateful that you're making these videos!!! ❤ So, regarding insurances...is it something fixed globally, or is it differnt from one country to another in terms of cost and policies?
Every country has different insurance policies, terms and costs so it is best to look into a professional insurance agent for that. This is also the case with licenses and permits.
Thanks for this awesome vlog, Wilson! If I've learned anything, it's that passion, a good plan, and a sprinkle of creativity can make any dream brew into reality. Keep inspiring us with your java-filled journey! ☕
Does the amount differ in different countries or is it that the 50,000$ is converted to that countries currency?....I hope you get what I'm saying 😅🙇🏻♀️
The ball park range is mainly for North America. For other countries, the biggest costs (rent, equipment, labour) will be quite different. BUT if you ignore the range, you can still build out a good idea how much it costs to start a coffee shop in your country with some more research and noting down all the elements I cover.
Thanks Wilson. Im glad I came across this video. Was wondering the past few days how I even begin and what things to consider. This helped me a lot! Will watch your other videos!
Hi Wilson…I really like your explanation, but, do you think you do more like practical…say have a boardwalk you know writing down on the board… like myself and probably many others…I would like to see how you do the calculations… thank you though
Let's say they offer to reimburse $25sq ft on a rent of $30sq ft for renovating the space. Let's say that renovation takes 6 months. Will I have to pay rent each month while the build out is being executed, even though the business isn't make a $1 yet because it's not open.
What is the name of your coffee shop And how is it going? Just curious because you give a lot of tips/knowledge for a successful cafe shop. Just want to know if you practiced what you preach. Thanks more power :D
Thank you for deep explanation! I worked and run a coffee shop in queens nyc. I want to open a coffee shop here in Winnipeg with theme and drinks based in nyc. I have business plan and everything I just need money to open. This video helps a lot!
Hello Wilson ! I love your videos😍. I am an interior designer living in NYC who is thinking about opening a very cool coffee shop. I am a barista also and I have worked for coffee shop owners , so I am into this delicious world . Thank you so much for your videos
@@marceloaguilar9090 Hey marco, I’m in the middle of buying a business and I need to remodel and rebrand, maybe we have a conversation and help each other out.
Hey Wilson! I've been a big fan of your content, especially due to the fact I'm in the Vancouver area as well. I'm in the planning stage of my business... Right now I'm having a hard time looking for suppliers of cups that are designed esthetically. Do u recommend any customizable cup suppliers? Currently a blank cup costs 12cents... What would be a reasonable price for a customized cup to help brand awareness?
Yep the small town my parents live in they have a drive thru only coffee shop called bean bros and it became so popular it’s opened new locations in the near towns
@@bearythebear69 Hi Beary, i am in the process of setting up drive through coffee shop in UK, can you provide me contacts for coffee making equipments, thank you
Hey I was wondering. I live in Malaysia where our currency is about RM4 = $1. So lets say it takes theoretically $100,000 in Canada, will it directly translate to RM100,000 or RM400,000 to open a place in my country? I wonder if this is a generalisation I could make or if its completely irrelevant
The cost range is generalized for North American market. I'm sure there are major differences in average commercial rent, cost of ingredients, renovations, etc. in your country so I wouldn't put too much weight in the converted range. What you can do is use the categories to do more research on each to find out how much it would cost in your country.
hello Mr Wilson .. i really need your help : i found a coffe for rent it cost is about 500 Dollars .. it comes with all machines and tables as well as chairs .. it's located about 550 m to a univercity that pocced a 3500-4000 students ... i have 5000 dollar on me at the moment ... i dont know if i should go and rent it ... any advice please
@@labiharaffique5899 No, that is a bad idea, you need more than 5k save up, you have to have extra incase something go wrong, i have never own a coffee shop or any shop but even i know that you have to have extra cash laying around.
i love all your videos! you inspire me more everyday to achieve my goal of becoming an entrepreneur. I'm tired of being an employee and hopefully one day I can be like you.
Also one last doubt... instead of taking a rent we can buy the place from the landlord and pay him/her the money he needs ryt? So then that place will become ours and theres no need for paying a rent?
you need my likes to pay for your camera man.Yet you have so many great business's thats strange for a so called rich guy who is so smart. Don't you think so?. You said your USP was smoke with the ice-cream yet you then went on to say you scraped the dry ice in the cups due to cost's. as it saved you 2k per month.
