Hey man, been watching your videos for a while now. Always insightful man! Thank you. I’m a mobile welder out in Oregon. Still building my business two years in and you have to be smart! Keep on making these videos!
Good content. Here’s what I do, #1- quality cooler and keep it stocked. I know yetis are high but you can save on ice. #2- buy a pallet of water and cases of Gatorade at Sam’s club. No need to buy one, two, three single drinks everyday. #3- invest in a ice machine. I don’t personally have one but I have access to one and it is a life saver. Especially if you have a cheap cooler and put ice in it everyday. #4- cold food in the cooler and if it’s hot food, Amazon sells food heaters that plug into the cigarette lighters that heats your last night left overs while you work.
Just saving the money difference in getting a morning corner store coffe vs making your own at home will fund a retirement. Get a Schwab or Fidelity account and start a IRA for retirement savings.
The numbers added up and they don't lie. I like to eat out. I'm a production welder and starting to get into the metal art business, making rebar art, like a rebar shepherds hook. Also needed the money to buy some of the materials for my projects. It does add up but great video.
I eat one big homemade meal throughout the day but I weigh like 130lbs and drink water Some times ill add the flavor shots from kroger or DG but not make my self sick from the heat. I'll go out to eat with some of the guys on my crew that actually do work (Union) once I get that layoff good job slip. Most the time I'll just order a pint or two of beer and Im ready to head back home. I dont have a family or responsibilities so ALL my money goes into savings and investments. I can take a week or two off with no harm after that Im itching to go back at it. This has changed my life so much I look back at my past self and wanna kick his ass. I wanna get a camper for those out of town jobs and stay at a campground just to not have to get a hotel. I use to hop fright trains so Ive slept in worse lol. Some of those guys will drive 2 to 3 hours just to go home and 6 hours later do the drive again I dont get why they would waste time money and their safety after staying up all night working 12 14 hours just for mediocre poon is the only answer Is my guess
I love insightful videos!! Fantastic content. For a full day job i'll pack PB&Js. I also keep canned foods like mixed fruit, sardines, chicken 🐓 noodle soup, canned diet soda. GU gels are a great product i found while training for my ultra marathons. Some even have caffeine, giving you a quick boost of calories and energy I really try to watch the calories because you don't burn many calories riding in a truck or holding a stinger.
I get what you're saying. You have to watch how you spend money cause it adds up. But why are you so worried about taking a little extra time for lunch. Why cant you just work an extra 30 minutes ( 8 to 5 with 1 hour lunch) if you're not home by a certain time does your Ford & SA200 turn into a Kia with a Yes welder in the back?
You guys need to find a lady that cares enough to pack your lunch. REAL food, not that dog food. All those preservatives (sodium benzoate) and high fructose corn syrup are bad for you. Meals are only tax deductible if you're taking clients out for lunch, not you're own lunch, every day.
