I just went to trial for a car accident. The insurance company was something else. Was rear ended I was waiting at a light and a truck trying to run a train hit me and my son. I've had nerve pain shooting down my arm. I was referred to a MRI and the company still said only 2k for my car and medical. In the end the jury awarded us the max amount and a dollar more. This took 4 yrs. They had no medical witnesses no previous medical history because I wasn't injured before. My attorney said he was hoping for 60k but anything over 2k was a win because that's all they were willing to pay. Ended up getting 5x the amount my lawyer was hoping we would get. Trial is definitely nerve wrecking.
I need a lawyer to sue the City for a rise in the public sidewalk i tripped over and fell fractured my knee Cap smashed my forehead on the concrete sidewalk and dislocated my right shoulder and sprained my neck muscles are so stiff. I'm sure I have whiplash. The local doctors are rediculous and trying to protect the City from being sued.
There are often statutory rules that govern filing a lawsuit against the city. Keep in mind that the statute of limitations, or the time you have to file a claim can be very short, sometimes only a few months. I'd strongly advise you to consult with a local lawyer in your city to see if you have a claim.
The reason they are not telling you how much you are going to get is because you will get nothing... or next to nothing after your lawyer and your medical insurance get most of it.
How about all the stress this causes esp. if you're only vehicle is totaled and it will be really hard to replace it with the money the state allows them to screw you with???
The stress will and should be part of a demand for general pain and suffering. These are the noneconomic damages that are suffered, and are absolutely viable claims for compensation.
@@johnkelly8670 Thank you. Is there any way to determine what possible amount I might be looking at for typical injuries? No lawyers seem to want to attempt this. I understand they don't want to promise anything but it's a question of whether it's worth it to pay 40 percent or whatever of 5 grand vs much more....
@@waypasthadenough There reason we cannot make an estimate is because there are way too many factors that will be specific to your injuries. We have noneconomic cases that we ask millions for, but there are others that end up being only a few thousand as you mentioned. Of course I cannot give actual specific case analysis over the internet. You need to call an attorney in your state that is willing to do a full assessment of your case and give you an honest estimate of settlement value.
I have whip lash . I have been going to a chiropractor. I have head aches still ,and still it feels tight on one side, but I know it's a strain. My doctor told me I could do light workouts. But I'm scared they have a p.i. following me. What should I do.
