How Much Money can TOURISM Make in Cities Skylines 2?
Cities Skylines 2 gameplay today building my first city! We'll be working on our city's downtown core today adding in a harbour and a few monuments to increase tourism! Hopefully the tourists bring in some money and it maybe encourages population growth.

Kibitz is definitely going to need to look into air travel. Also I think the space center generates a ton of tourist attractiveness.

I really hope they expand on tourism. Casinos, resorts, amusement parks, zoos, golf courses, etc.

If it works like in CS1, tourists number depends massively on city happiness ! Make sure your citizens are happy with their awesome jobs :) Also I noticed the average hotel night price is supa dupa high, that could also be an influential factor

The observation tower should serve double duty as a telecom tower since its modeled on the CN tower and all these great towers are communication towers first, tourist destinations second.

Tip for quays: you can temporarily fill land to just barely above the water level, then build your quay at the "cliff" without getting the "in water" problem, and then later lower the terrain again so the water will return.

The road thing at 9:30 is due to the elevated road putting a pillar in the middle of the roundabout. Had the same issue myself aswell.

For the quais (pedestrian road next to water) it’s easier to get rid of the water, (add land) drop the height of the land, build the quais, add the water back… you won’t get annoyed with the « In Water » stuff

I just use developer mode to ‘bypass validation result’. Then I turn it back on when I’m done building the quais

You should really play in developer mode, as you can enable building anarchy in that mode. So many problems you have in this Video can be solved somewhat with the developermode

Hi Kibs! I know you are focusing on these builder games. Have you thought about trialing some Backpack Battles content on the channel? It's an inventory management game which lends itself well to your creative thinking / exploitation style. Easy to record and it's picking up a good amount of momentum ahead of it's full release in April.

Great video as always Kibs! Have a look at infrastructurist’s harbour build in his riverview series, he has found a good technique with building retaining walls so it at least gets a bit easier for you.

Quays are a lot easier if you create a lower wider portion of land where you will be placing it then removing land up to it

To solve the pedestrian density and parking there is an option to expand walkways and not allow cars to park on the roads, this would also maximise the car parking and allow you to prosper on the miserable dilemma of only using car parks AND public transport 😈

You can make quays easier. 1. Level a ground terrain 2-3 contour lines below the level you want the quay to be at in a line where you want the quay. 2. Use a medium or large road to draw your quay along this new man-made cliff. 3. Upgrade the road to the type you wanted 4. Fix the terrain so your quay is in water.

I think transport fever also had a feature where if you tore down a station, it would remember its location for a few minutes, and if you built a new one there, it would automatically become "it" again

can't be certain, but that harbour is probably only for your citizens to travel to other harbours with? instead of bridges, subway under water etc? it probably helps explain the lack of usage. it also probably means the game is expecting you to build something else for tourism.

I know Kibits is still working on this one (and i'm really excited to see where it goes), but i already had an idea for the next series. Kibits Fixes a city. Like one of us make a complete nightmare of a city and he has to fix it. Draw lots or have some sort of contest or something to pick whose city is chosen but it has to be a complete mess. I'd love to see him fix it without scrapping the whole city and starting over. can remodel city areas yes but can't bulldoze the whole thing.

you can do quays by putting normal roads in against the edge, terraform so its level against the road with the river level. delete small parts of the road and fill in the gaps
