Loved this video! Just a little note on the copyrighted music, I work as a songwriter and in music publishing, and claiming songs on RU-vid is a big way we get paid for our hard work too! I think it would be comparable to if someone took your video and uploaded it on their channel and then took the ad sense money. I know sometimes it’s just in the background, but other times youtubers use music because they know it adds value and the songwriters should get paid for the work they put in too! I know this was not what you were saying but I just wanted to add that note! Songwriters are some of the lowest paid music creators compared to performing artist and controlling our copyrights is one of the ways we ensure we can continuing doing our work as well. I loved the video explaining how youtubers get paid so I thought it was important to share how other creators get paid as well and why it’s sometimes frustrating when your video gets flagged for having copyrighted music

Great seeing your video and I subscribed to your channel because checking your bio, I see you're an engineering student at NC STATE, (Go Pack). Our family are big Wolfpack fans and alumnus. My fater-in-law , went to State, along with my brother in law, my wife, my son and we hope our grandson who is a freshman in high school. Love seeing young people with your enthusiasm and evidently probably pretty smart if you have matriculated to engineer at State. I have a trucking business in Charlotte, NC and I'm trying to establish myself with a larger presence on youtube. Yes a video about being self employed would be a great follow up. Especially since you need to save over half of that income for you self employment tax obligations. How do you budget for taxes-since you don’t have an employer withholding anything. Are you prepared if RU-vid has a slump, etc

Would you mind talking about how you have made RU-vidrs friends?? Especially when someone has more subscribers than you? I’ve heard that some youtubers don’t become friends with people that have a smaller audience than them. How do you go about talking to people? Do you just DM them? Also whenever you go to influencers events do you just go and introduce yourself to people or you wait for them to come to you or do you stick to the people you already know ?

This is very insightful, Natalie. I think that many youtube users with or without a channel will find this very insightful as well. It is great to learn about how different businesses work and what it takes to go that road. Also i totally agree with you that money is a taboo topic in our societies that needs to be opened up more often as many people struggle just because they never talk about it in order to learn how to better manage themselves. I haven’t seen an ad in over a year since I joined RU-vid premium. It also allows me to have RU-vid running in the background while I’m on a different app or my homescreen (super helpful when I need to be looking at my GPS). Best $15 a month I’ve ever spent.
