Actually, I think it was us who paid it through tax dollars. And he upped the costs partly so he could get the extra money we're forced to spend on all the secret service to attend, and anyone else he wants to take there.

But, do you really trust the government that much with our taxes? They fail us in almost every way possible, not to mention those in positions of power stealing the taxed dollars to live in million dollar homes. That's less money that the average American will have to spend for themselves to live good prosperous lives and will equate to less jobs because businesses will be taxed to death. Americans wouldn't be able to afford opening small businesses so only the wealthy will thrive in such a state.. I don't know about you, but I do not want another entity taking my wealth for themselves, because that is what would happen. It'll become a caste system where the lower classes will not have the power (money) and freedom to move up, even if they work hard.

I've always felt that paying taxes was patriotic and never had a problem with them, what I had a problem with was how they spent that money.

He didn't work. He missed meetings, slept through a lot, didn't pay attention unless his name was said and he was being glorified. He showed up a little, that's all. And he shouldn't have been able to go there all the time, jacking the prices way up too, so we also had to pay inflated costs for secret service that had to go, and anyone he wanted there too.
