SCAM ALERT: There are scammers messaging people in my comments to connect on WhatsApp, this is not me! Please do not message them or give them your information. I will never ask you to message me on WhatsApp or anything like it. Thanks for your support of my channel
I already know I got one of those and I said stop scamming people and left it at that, every youTuber that I subscribe to has had messages sent to me like this
I truly hope, Cassiy, you know how immensely humbled and grateful we all are to you for the effort you put in to sharing your knowledge and experience, it is sincerely appreciated.
I'm SO glad!!! That's so sweet of you to say! This journey has been wild and I'm grateful my videos are able to reach and help so many people with their businesses
Thank you for sharing. Your videos are always so helpful! I started my print on demand shop over the weekend. On Sunday my shop was suspended. Wednesday they re-opened it (but they didn’t send me an email to tell me 😂. I signed in just to see if I could and was able to!). I got 1 listing but will be building more. I have another store which is not print on demand on Etsy and there was no sale in the first 3 week. After 3.5 weeks, with 4 listing, I got 1 sale! Now I am 4 more months in, with 12 listing and made 691 sales. Excited to start the print on demand journey! 😊
Thank you Cassiy for your words of encouragement. I was getting 3 to 5 sales a week for Halloween products now it's crickets.🤷♀️ I started listing Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year products 3 weeks ago and no sales yet. Praying to see some activity in my store at the beginning of November. 💖🙏
My situation is similar, had a bunch of sales back to back in September and now only just a few here and there. It’s unnerving since Christmas is getting closer you’d think it would be speeding up… I’ve just accepted it will be what it will be and trust that it’ll work out eventually 🤷♀️
@@nicolesheehan1298 I am putting 75% of my energy on Xmas products. Very little on Thanksgiving. I'm new to POD, 4 months in, and I'm still learning new skills and whatnot. I'm listing Tshirts, sweatshirts, matching group t shirts and next I'll focus on mugs and maybe custom made ornaments. I don't want to get overwhelmed with so many custom orders since it's my first time going thru quarter 4. I have no high expectations, it is what it is.
I wish I started my ETSY shop during Covid lockdown when the online shopping peaked. 2020-2021 were the Etsy-shopping party years. Thanks Cassiy for all the great videos.
Thank You for sharing and the Motivational Encouragement. I was always watching but now I’ve started. I overthink a lot and didn’t take action,Now I am .
I really appreciate the transparency of your sales - though I do wish you had shared the # of listings you had each month as well. I realized that is not the only thing that matters but it's a big part of it. And I have watched some of your previous videos talking where you did mention the # of listings you had which was great. it just would have been nice to see how your listings grew each month along with your sales since I'm sure it correlates - thank you again for sharing all this!!
Thank you so much, I actually really needed to hear this. I have been adding to my shop since July, so about 3 months since my shop has been open with about 134 listings and I've only had 1 sale, so I am a bit discouraged, but I'm very passionate about doing this and motivated and don't want to give up. This video was for me today lol. Thank you!
I'm just about to open my shop, but I plan to give it a full year before deciding if this is a good fit for me as a side-gig. Hang in there katie. Keep learning, researching and listing. I believe persistence is the most important component to success in this sort of endeavor.
@@kenmckinnie6061 I did think about that, but I heard ads weren't good to try unless you already had decent sells on the items you wanted to run an ad on.
Hi Katie! I'm so glad this video spoke to you today! I know it can be discouraging at first, but hang in there. I love that you're still motivated and passionate about what this could bring to your future!
I love your videos and the way you present the information and offer encouragement! I've watched some videos that are helpful from other sellers, but they don't present in nearly the coherent ordered way that you do. Thanks so much for that! At 64 and semi retired, I am enjoying learning this process and looking forward to many sales 💖
When you say you worked on your shop all the time, what exactly did you do to continuously work? How often were you adding new designs? Did you have other social media to promote your shirts? Thanks for your videos!!! SO helpful!
This video literally got me started NOW! Instead of going out this Halloween weekend, I'm watching all your videos and started designing my niche for the upcoming holiday.
Thank you for being transparent about the amount of time you spent on your shop, as it will help those of us getting our shops off the ground. Having a gauge is VERY helpful. I’m retired so I have the time. Thank you for the motivation!
So glad this video gave you a clear picture of the results you can see in your shop depending on how much time you spend! So happy to be transparent! Thanks for watching, Jana!
This is so helpful, thank you! I am just starting and so unsure what's realistic to expect. Thank you for the comment about Etsy shutting down your shop too. I was so confused when my shop was suspended within a day of me opening it. It's back open and I'm ready to really get going.
Hi.. I got a reply on my comment as well containing that Whatsapp number, so I message it.. when he/she replied it doesn't sound Cassiy at all.. then I went back to my comment and found that the reply was just Cassiy photo but it's not her account..
I really love your story behind your business. I will open POD (i have 2 stores with digital products) and I am buying the best mockups, I studied for a week niches and my team is creating a lot Designs now
As usual, great video! Thanks for sharing because it seems very daunting sometimes so this was very encouraging! You have been my lifeline through all of this. I have watched soooo many of your videos to try to learn all of this. I am 57 and this is all very new to me. I had never designed anything before in my life, digital that is. I have always made crafts and sold them but wanted to get something passive started that can take us through retirement. This gives me hope that may actually happen!
You're singing my tune as well. At 62 I really don't want to schlep my wares to craft fairs, or even to the post office for that matter. I'd rather doe the creative side and let someone else handle the other. Hoping to use my income to improve and payoff my new home
@@angieadwin8515 I hope you're able to do well at it and pay off your home! We are also trying to update and improve the home we have had for over 25 years. We thought we were going to sell it once we did but we think we're going to stay put because house prices are so ridiculous. Many blessings on your new venture! It's never too late in life to start something new, keeps us young!
It looks like you put some of your earlier earnings back into your business because your profit percentage increased over time. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. You are appreciated!
Everyone needs to remember that this was 2020/21 when online shopping was at its highest. A lot of People have gone back to real life shopping, but even if we make half of what you made your first year, that's still a huge win! 😊
Thank you so much for this. The realistic numbers and down-to-earth advice is so helpful and encouraging. It's not pie-in-the sky, it's hard, consistent work that pays off over time. I really appreciate this so much, Cassiy!
Your numbers are inspiring! I love how in your interview with Everbee where you disclose how many listings you published to accomplish these sales stats. It helps to put into perspective how much work was required to reach the success you found.
I just LOVEEEE watching this video over and over again..whenever I feel lost, exhausted working on my shop and not seeing much as this is my first year, I get motivation watching your video and giving all the energy to feel it when it happens to me! You are so inspiring, u go girl 💓
I’ve been trying to get into POD but life keeps happening. And every time I watch one of your videos, I get so inspired and motivated. Thank you so much 🎃!!
I'm so glad my videos have that effect on you!! It can be so hard to take the first step, but I feel like you owe it to yourself to try! Wishing you all the best!
Thank you for your transparent review of your year - very few Etsy sellers show their actual profit, it's an eye opener for a newbie like me! I am curious to know what the breakdown of your costs look like?
Thank you so much, Cassiy. Every video you make is full of encouragement and inspiration. I continue to work hard and look forward to gaining some momentum in November and December. You're my number-one go-to coach for Etsy. Hopefully, my story will soon start to reflect yours and 2023 will be a great year. See you on the next one. 😃
You are my inspiration to keep going!! Not having any success yet. Working full-time and probably not spending enough time on it. Determined to make it work though!
Thank you for being honest with us about it not being easy, I really appreciate that, waiting for bank to do their trial deposit, then can resume etsy store application, it's frustrating, but I keep watching tutorials, and learning, researching, designing and learning on printful😫I'll get there👍
Found your channel two weeks ago. I set up my shop this week and made five listings yesterday. I’m comfortable with Etsy since I have a handmade business. Can’t wait to keep listing and hopefully made some sales.
Very encouraging. So great to peak behind the curtain. I'll be cracking the doors open on my shop any day now and I can't wait. Thanks for all you share.
El video mas transparente que he visto! Muchos solo muestran la cantidad que facturan y nosotros pensamos que todo es ganancia. Gracias por este videin
Hi Cassie, new to the POD bus and your videos are a God send!! Anytime a question comes up I seem to find that you have already answered it!!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
I’d love to see you do an ugly Christmas sweater video. I’m honestly a bit unsure of the best sweatshirts to use for ugly Christmas sweaters. Would love to see another sample video from you with recommendations.
I love this story. How many listings do you have in your shop? If you’re posting a lot, then do you end up with thousands of listings or do you remove old ones if they haven’t sold or…? I worry about having so many that no one sees the oldies but goodies
So appreciate your transparency in all of your videos Cassiy. I look forward to every new video you post. Thanks so much for the amazing content, you are such an inspiration! :)

@@CassiyJohnson no worries. I saw the Whatsapp number in this comment as well earlier, so I posted comment to get the attention that there is scammer.. but I can see that the number has been removed after I commented several times in this video.. sorry!
Please make a daily DMO Video and I would also love what your opinion is regarding what you should focus on each day if you have a limited amount of time.
Don't limit yourself to just Etsy if you're starting a POD store. Printify works on many different platforms. That way it's not as impactful if Etsy closes your store.
@@goodvibe6811 Currently Printify also connects with Ebay, Wal-Mart, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, API, PrestaShop, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and TikTok US.
Thank you for your openness to share insights. Congratulations to your successful first year. I look forward to binge watching your content. First time watching and new subscriber.

Wow, this is pretty awesome. I was a professional artist for 11 years, but my job got automated a few years ago. I'm considering trying my hand at this! I'd like to do humorous shirts, parodies, politically humorous, etc. I'm not sure if that type of work would sell on etsy. I looked around a little and see that a lot of the shirts are very graphic (i.e. the image is a solid shape over a background, almost like cutting out a shape with a single color). Those designs can look cool, but they're probably also simpler to make for the average person who doesn't have a lot of illustration/painting skills. I'd be interested in doing a lot of actual illustrations, more like paintings or cartoons. I assume those would sell, but maybe not? I'm not sure if I'm not seeing much because they don't sell, or because they might be harder to make, or maybe they're not worth the effort. Or maybe they're there, but I'm just searching for the wrong thing. My new job/career is 3 days/week, so I should have plenty of time to make the illustrations/designs. And I should be able to afford running ads on a small level.
Hi Keith! I think your unique designs have the potential to catch the customer's attention because they won't look like what everyone else is selling! And from what I've experienced so far, humorous/sarcastic shirts sell really well. I am wishing you all the best!!
such an informative video, thank you! appreciate the transparency!! do you think print-on-demand using original artwork, considering current trends, would sell well? i ask because i find that similar print-on-demand shops use basically the same creative fabrica graphics.
Looking for the answer to this as well. I plan to focus primarily on the model (with Creative Fabrica) that Cassiy is using, but I'm an artist as well. I've been thinking it's the quickest way to get the volume of views/sales I'm looking for. I can always add my own artwork as I go along.
Thank you for sharing your journey early on again!!! So inspiring and I am purchasing the course you took today!!! ❤ hope all is well with you and have a great Q4!!!!!
Proud and happy for you! Thanks for your knowledge, guidance and for being an inspiration to all of us here! Love your content and appreciate your transparency, it’s super helpful. Thank you 😊
I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong...almost 300 listings, been doing this since June, trying to stay low competition and popular niches. I have great mock ups and I've taken all your advice with showing designs clearly on mock ups as well as pricing strategies and SEO. I set up my entire shop with a banner and store icon and BIO. I always update my shop announcement and run sales. I have picture cards for return information and with 5 star reviews. Stocked up listings for Halloween/Fall/Winter/Christmas. Group listings, etc. And I have 40 sales total and 5 star reviews (not many - 10 reviews because of low sales, but still decent) and I've been a Star Seller for three months. I see shops that have been open way less time than me with way less listings with way more sales. Obviously there is something I'm doing wrong or it would be working but I'm just SO completely frustrated. Everywhere I turn someone else has a better statistic than me on their sales in the comments and I'm working my butt off!! I know I should invest in a 1 in 1 meeting or an audit but I'm already financially drained and I feel like I'm doing everything right. Hoping something turns around for me. I kept hoping it would be for Q4 but that's looking like a No, too.
Thanks for sharing! inspiring! How many listings were you posting per day at that time? Were you running ads? What budget? how many total listings had you in your store to get those sales? Thank you 👍
I've had my shop 2 months and just made my 1st sale. The crickets had been starting to get really loud! Still not feeling super confident but onward I go.
What i’m really concerned about is, it has to charge you first for the production costs and stuff before you even get paid for those orders. So you have to make sure to have a couple thousand dollars in savings so that you can pay for the orders before you even get paid. I didn’t know this and I barley have any money to pay for the orders i’m getting right now so i’m not sure what to do
Hi Cassiy! Thank you for this video. Sadly, I'm missing why they suspended your acct. initially? Due to too many mock ups? I'm new to this, so apologies if this seems like a dumb question. I just didn't graps the why.
So, would I do it the way you showed in the video link even when it’s not a family listing, but just want to offer a wide range of sizes? I appreciate your help so much. It’s because of you that I have felt confident enough to open an Etsy store. You have such a great way of explaining things. I used your links for Etsy, Printify, Canva, and Ever Bee too. ❤
Hi Cassiy! New subscriber! I'm so excited to learn more about pod from someone with real results. When you started, what softwares did you use with little income?
Welcome to the channel! I didn't use anything besides the design software in the beginning, I'd say Canva is the only must have! I'd say if you can afford Creative Fabrica to get more graphics and more fonts, then that would be my next purchase but besides that, you don't need anything else! Stuff like software tools make things easier and more convenient but aren't 100% necessary. Best of luck!
Thanks Cassiy, great info as always. My best friend just opened an Etsy shop selling POD, using many of your strategies/suggestions to create new versions of best sellers. One of her listings got reported to Etsy by another Etsy seller for a false reason. The thing is, the reporting Etsy shop owner is well known on social media for print on demand. So far we have kept her shop name & products a secret. But now that she is being vindictive against a new Etsy seller who is only following the vindictive seller's own advice, we are at a loss. We don't want to ruin the successful shop owner's business by outing her shop all over the web, but my friend doesn't deserve to be reported to Etsy, either. She is no competition for this experienced Etsy seller, who has forgotten that she had to start somewhere too. Maybe she didn't realize how much she has to lose, so we are unsure about taking action. If another negative thing happens to my best friends shop, we will definitely out the social media seller. What would you do? Should we out this secret successful Etsy shop online now, or do nothing and hope that she backs off and leaves my best friend's new Etsy shop alone? Thank you! 😍🙏
I should note that we like this social media Etsy seller. I would never out her shop unless she continued to try to sabotage my best friend's shop. I've known about her shop since before she was known for POD and haven't outed her. I'm a friend of a friend. Her actions are just very disturbing and unexplainable.
I’m sorry this happened to your friend! If she filed a copyright infringement against your friend, then your friend should file a counter notice and it will no longer be against her shop unless that seller has an actual copyright filed for the design. I would recommend doing this right away as you only have so much time to file a counter notice.
Do have a question....do you think it's good to turn on the guaranteed free shipping? And if so how much should I be up charging for if and when someone hits that $35 mark?
@@CassiyJohnson yes i know but i thought or better said hoped these are the profits in pocket lol. So how much real profit is there left after everything is taken off on lets say a 24,99 shirt?
Congrats on your success Cassiy. Just curious how many listings did you have on your first year? I just got started two months ago and have six sales but none of the sales were organic.
Here is a link to another video I did going over exactly how my first 8 months on Etsy went, I know I talk about what niches I was selling and how many listings etc that I had as well. Hopefully you find it helpful! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pkakFIlHNmc.html
Question about the day you had the huge spike bc of the Instagram lady: if the POD company charges you for the item upfront and then you get the money from the customer after, did you have a really big limit available on your credit card on file with the POD co? I'd be worried about it overdrafting to pay for the items upfront. (If that makes sense.)
To my understanding, they take directly from the customers payment and nothing from you (creator). Once the customer makes a purchase, the printing company takes there cut right off the top and then you get your portion of profit.
That's a great question, I do have a credit card attached to my account. Printify needs to be paid from your credit card or debit card to start making the items. Once you have been selling on Etsy for over 90 days, then you can change it so Etsy pays you everyday. So if you don't have a large credit card limit, you could just wait to start those orders until the next day when Etsy pays you the amount the customer pays, minus the Etsy fees. Hope that helps!
Printify and Etsy are not connected in that way, 1. Etsy takes the customer payment 2. You pay printify to start the order of that item for the cost of the item + shipping 3. Etsy pays you the amount the customer paid minus the Etsy fees. Etsy pays for once per week for the first 90 days then you can change it so they pay you the next day instead So you need to either have a credit card/debit card on file with Printify to start production on your items, or technically you could wait until Etsy paid you before you started production of the items.
Mostly focussing on niching down, SEO and making sure I was selling trending design styles. I did start using some Etsy ads towards the end of 2020 and then a lot more in 2021, here is the video I made about how I spent 12k on ads in 2021 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vM8ru5LTC1k.html
Thank you for sharing your amazing story with us and your encouragement words. May I ask you how many listings were you doing a week at that time? Thank you again.
