I don’t understand why anyone would buy unrefined gold, which your own website says “It can be as low as 50% pure or as high as 95% pure.” (Then later they kind of pinkie swear that it’s closer to 90%} for 25-30% more than the spot price of 99.9% bullion?

Hi Emily, we met in Vegas at the Gold show a few years ago. I was with my little boy and a very obese friend. It wasn't busy and we talked for quite a while and I got you to autograph an orange scoop for me. I can't say I am interested in buying gold because I dig it out of the ground myself out here in Arizona. And it is true, people do not understand that there is many costs to acquire gold from deposits and you have every right to sell it for face value plus other incurred costs that it takes for you to get it. I love what you do. Keep on doing it. If I could work the gold fields for a living, I definitely would.

yes, it's a very fair deal. Its easy if they don't think its a good deal don't buy it! But if you want like Emily said some gold to pan and have some fun then its fun investment.
This gold would be perfect for someone who wants to test their sluice efficiency or panning skills. It's small like most of what your hobby prospectors are chasing. Weigh it on a decent scale, mix it with a couple gallons of dirt/gravel, run it through your sluice (or pan it out) and weigh up what you have after cleanup. Save your tailings incase your sluice sucks on small gold 😂

A fair price would be the same price as the guy that buys raw gold in Nome. You should ask whatever you want it's your gold, comparing your gold to refined gold like coins or bullion is deceptive. much respect to you for what you have accomplished Emily.
To be fair 2.5 grams cost me about £3000 let's just say when I went to Australia from the UK about 25 years ago to hunt gold I experienced what we call an epic fail I also got a spider bite and a jellyfish sting

Ha! People are mostly smart. Our prices change with spot price everyday, so it's an important metric. I think they just don't understand that nothing shows up in your mailbox by accident. There are expenses at every step of the process from the website to payment to handling, packaging, shipping, and then taxes after the fact. It all factors into the price.
I don’t mind buying by the gram. I’m an old woman on a fixed income. All I do is buy every month. Never sell. No matter the cost, I am accumulating every month. Grandkids get a bonus on Christmas

in the merchant contract we are not alloud to charge extra for the use of the card. its in the agreement that we can not charge a fee for the use of a card. and you have spot gold and can be very high in other metals. and making it 9999 will decrease the amount of that gram.

Premiums on bullion will kick up over "spot price" also, which is what you have to pay anyway. I usually use bullion or scrap to alloy my metals for art. Most placer gold sellers get a "nugget" premium for collectors also. I know Emily know's this as well. Hugs girl and I can't wait to get some gold in the near future. Stay safe
As a prospector and paydirt vendor .. I know what work goes into the gold I buy from my vendor !! Being a paydirt vendor I also need to have a bit of room for profit.... I usually pay $5 under spot per gram . $10 over is not outrageous by no means .
@@TheEmilyRiedel exactly !! I usually shoot for $10-12 a gram profit on my paydirt... your price on clean gold pretty much equals out to that minus the dirt !
that's $1871 for PURE 24k gold, alaska gold runs like 55% to 85% most the time there are a few spots where they have found 95% but thats rare, you are talking usually 75-80% purity..maybe less? most the time.. if you purify your gold remove all the impurities then you can charge $1881 whatever spot price is for 24k or pure gold.. for alaska gold go down to like 17-23k, that's generally what it's worth per gram or ounce, every gold calculator allows you to go from like 8k up to pure or 99.9% so you can value at whatever percentage you need to.. ANY gold you ever buy you need to be concerned about its purity, is it 24k pure, 18k? they can test it out.. it fluctuates a bit purity wise nugget to nugget so forth, but never pay for 24k unless it's been processed and had all impurities removed..yes there is a process, you don't dig pure gold out of the ground ANYWHERE.. there are several methods of purifying gold and you can watch it done on the tube..

I don't understand why you people don't understand... she said it's for fans of the show or for someone that just wants some gold from up there! Duh if you want to actually invest in gold then do like she said and buy large quantities that are in bars and stamped etc. ETC... I bought a few silver coins from the show Pawn Stars that they made with the old man on it.. I didn't buy it for the silver, I bought it because I was a fan and thought having a silver coin from the show especially with the old man on it was cool... I will probably buy a small vial of gold from her because I am a fan of the show and having actual gold from the Bering sea is cool...
There is no way someone can make money investing in small amounts of gold like a gram. A gram on ebay costs about the same prices you are showing. Its just how it is. I also love the show and have seen every one. I prefer safer places to prospect for gold myself tho, lol. Heading to the mountains in the UP of Michigan again this summer.

Emily, I have a suggestion for you. I know of a company, and so do you, that sales gold (1gram / $73). And then there are all of the other total rip offs, unmeasurable weight of gold for $39 on Amazon. Now, think of Vegas. You would not put a dollar in a slot machine knowing your are only going to get back 80% of your bet EVERYTIME. Make a product that cost $100 (bucks) and is guaranteed to get you .5-7 gram but every now and then it pays out double, tripple, 5 grams!!!! once a month 10 grams, etc .Get people hooked on wanting to hit the jack pot. And they take a picture the jackpot golf for proof and get a free bag, you know who got it. I would love to pull the lever knowing I might get a jackpot.
I feel you, but we tried that already. We did a run of 200 bags where 3 people won an ounce and everyone else got less than average. All we had were 3 ecstatic people (who were shy and didn't want to share a picture or share their story) and 197 people who were pissed off. Unfortunately when you do jackpots like that everyone else suffers a bit except the winners and folks aren't really understanding about it. We found it's best everyone knows what they're going to get and people like you are in the minority! People care more that they didn't lose than that they won something

You get 100% spot when selling Paydirt yet if you sell it to a gold buyer they will never give you 100% spot. Keep up the amazing work and can't wait to see how the new pontoons on the boat come out! Never met him! Inland mining is so different from ocean dredging it's barely the same game. It's like asking a soccer player if he'll play hockey because both sports involve putting something in a net past a goalie...No way will we get into inland mining, but much respect to the guys who do that. It's next level!

What is the K (or 99.99 number?) if I smelt your gold? After smelting what would actually be left of 1 gram? Is 24K considered pure and = to 99.99? I melt and pour copper. *now I have read your tutorials now - it looks like maybe 22K?

Hi, Em. $77.76 is a great deal on a gram of gold. But do you sell a gram of .999 fine gold? Isn't the gold you get a little less than .999 fine? Still, you are selling at a fair price. Your time, labor, packaging, and postage are added expenses. Plus, there are bragging rights to say you have a gram of Emily Riedel's gold. What a bargain.
