Hey Jarno, mad love and respect to you. Just gotta tell you, those glasses are BS please dont accept anymore sponsorships from them. There are research papers from Harvard and other top medical schools proving that blue light is not harmful to us and these glasses dont do anything to help us. The best way to ease eye strain is to follow the 20-20-20 rule, every 20 mins look at something 20 feet away for 20s. Being a fellow f1 player, I know its impossible so as a good rule after every race just look away for 20s. Eye drops can help too, they are just saline which helps clean and moisturize your eye. Thanks again for all your great work, I would gladly donate to you rather than you having to sell BS, because you are nothing like the brand you just associated with. Love all the hard work you put into yourself and the game. GGs on the 10k cant match your pace, but that’s my goal.
Yeah it doesn’t harm the eye, but it does affect sleep patterns and that’s why generally people have difficulty sleeping just after using their mobiles or any other device emitting blue light
@@dhruvrauthan8027 not proven yet you can check out the articles I linked, but dont click random links on the internet so instead just google the article “does bluelight affect sleep”+harvard
@@dhruvrauthan8027 That has nothing to do with blue light, as a sleep technologist myself it is neurological related and due to peoples addiction to social media and constant stimulation.
For those who want a quick summary of the video: Brake Assist - Low: 2.3 seconds slower Brake Assist - Medium: 3.2 seconds slower Brake Assist - High: 5.3 seconds slower Steering Assist: 5.7 seconds slower Anti-Lock Breaking Assist (ABS): 0.5 seconds slower Traction Control - Medium: 0.37 seconds slower Traction Control - Full: 0.15 seconds slower Automatic Gearbox: 0.35 seconds slower ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those who want a guide on what assists to turn off: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, if you're starting fresh best path to start turning off assists would be: (Note: this is from the perspective of a Steering Wheel user, I don't have experience with Keyboard / Controller.) Steering Assist - Instantly, just don't use it. Brake Assist - Instantly, just don't use it. Automatic Gearbox: A great assist for your "first one" to turn off, the change in pace is quite significant (0.35s) but it also affects your control of the car so much less than ABS and TC so the change from Automatic to Manual won't be as cruel as the others persay. Practice a little in Time Control, you'll easily come to notice when you need to upshift. Downshifting is honestly just a bit of trial and error in figuring out what the best gear is for that corner. But I have seen some beautiful videos on using your surroundings to identify what gear you need to be in for a corner. Anti-Lock Breaking Assist (ABS): Once you're here you most likely have some experience playing the game and being comfortable shifting gears. This would be your next one to turn off, it will take practice trying to push on the break FULL and then slowly easing off the break but you will get there. Turning this off is the biggest time saver of the ones you don't instantly just turn off. There are tons of videos and guides on learning to turn off ABS and I highly recommend watching one and practicing it in Time Trial. And finally, Traction Control (TC): As highlighted in the video, the time difference with TC is the least significant (full TC specifically (0.15s)) and so you can keep this on whilst you learn the other assists. Once you've mastered driving without the other assists then I would recommend turning TC off to achieve that feeling of mastery and understanding of the car. Once again there are tons of videos and guides on learning to turn off TC and I highly recommend watching on and practicing it in Time Trial. Hope this helps. :)
Also for those wondering, the reasons behind instantly turning off steering assist and braking assist it's simply because having them on is training you to get used to a bad habit/bad assist, driving with either of these assists on only worsens your driving in the long run, so it's much better to turn them both off on the get-go and learn to go without them.
I'm driving with TC and ABS off and automatic gearbox on, you _can_ manually shortshift to avoid s🅱in which I'm finding myself having to do, but will probably take your advice and switch TC on and gearbox to manual and see how that goes. It's hard for me to pay attention to that many gear shifts though :')
Finally you have got glasses to protect your eyes... I saw you in the past with really exhausted eyes, that's not good, i have the same problem. Glad you fixed that 👍
I personally only use driving line and traction control, driving line just looks cool tbh and traction control makes it so much easier on controller, I can drive without it but I’m so slow
I am using only assist traction controller. If the gap is only 0.170, its great tbh. Its pain to play without traction assist on controller. (competing like 95 ai difficulty) Also i dont understand why codemaster make gear down/up buttons to L1 and R1 like autentic steering wheel. You guys switch to these if you using controller aswell. 4 fingers at the back; you can throttle/brake and switch gears.
Dude, driving without assists is only faster if you´re in the Top 10% or even 20% of all players. A casual player will never feel any difference. I know the game is full of sweats, tryhards and wannabe-Verstappens, but it´s the same for them. A video like this one may reinforce their opinion, but it doesn't change the fact that they are simply not good enough to feel the "difference" at all... Especially not when you have to deal with a 70€ steering wheel :D
I play on controller and have always used medium tc bc I can’t be smooth enough on the trigger to turn it off. Should I switch to full tc since it’s faster this year?
@@ethan-by5xo My best advice would be to play around with your setup. If you’re getting way too much wheel spin out of low speed corners add more rear downforce then when you get more comfortable you can lower it again. If that doesn’t work try going into your calibration settings and put the throttle linearity up ( I put mine to around 40) hope this helps mate 👍
Everyone complained about the handling, but they didn't say anything about this anomaly of being as fast with full tc. They fixed the hadling but ruined the traction, the game became as bad as f1 22.
I'm sorry, maybe not everyone will agree with me, but as an intermediate player that has few 100s of hours in multiple F1 games, I'm still very far from ppl like Jarno when trying to get on the throttle out of a corner, and any beginner to just put full TC on and be almost identical with pros in throttle application, is insanely stupid and unfair
Then put full TC smash your throttle always and set at least +0.5s to tt record anywhere and you see how you wrong mate. Cause Jarno anyways gentle with inputs. And newbie always goes crazy on throttle and etc
I concur with the thoughts on ABS. Coming into F124 after playing since F1 2019, I finally worked myself up to the point where I was using the racing line on corners, automatic gearbox and ABS. I was terrified of turning off ABS because the few times I halfheartedly attempted it, I locked up both fronts immediately, and reverted. After committing to turning ABS off, whilst I don't have a reference in terms of laptime, I went from racing the AI at 90 with some challenge, to easily outqualifying them at 105. I really didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Next, I'll switch to manual gearbox before eventually turning off the racing lines.
@@paengzo3439 That's a very kind comment, thank you so much. I struggle to switch over to a manual gearbox whilst using controller. It feels so clunky to me.
@@amirulashraf3840 I'd be more than happy to try and help. So the first step is to learn how to trail brake. Essentially, at the beginning of your braking point, you're braking as hard as you can, but as you slow down, you release the brake. Brake in a straight line, and only turn for the apex when you're applying so little brake that you won't lock up. I recommend watching SimRacingSetups' video on how to race without ABS. You might get very frustrated and want to turn it back on. Don't. Persevere with it, and you'll become a much better driver. Good luck!
Hey jarno great video it’s just that there’s probably others out their like me and I play on a steering wheel and pedals and it’s just so hard for me to drive without using traction control like I don’t use brake assist as I know it just slows me down and I don’t need it but for things like anti lock brakes, traction control or manual gearbox I just can’t drive even a single corner without spinning out and yes I’ve tried using them separate it’s just so frustrating how I can’t even drive a corner without assists
@@Clocethe easiest of these is probably the manual gearbox. You can use the suggested gear for the corners for a while and after a bit you will get a feel for the type of corner and gear that belongs to it.
My sugestion: I think you should start by turning off the automatic gearbox. If you stay using traction control and the anti-lock, it will not take long for you to get faster. That was my experience at least, back then in F1 2017. Then, when you master the manual gearbox you can start trying to practice without the traction control. It surely will be VERY DIFFICULT to get used to. It took three entire years on three different games for me to master the traction control off, but the manual gearbox was very easy and took me like five days or so to become faster in every track. And about the Anti-lock, I also STILL DON'T KNOW how to turn it off and still go fast whitout locking up😂. I didn't care about that because on the previous games It was not a massive "must-to-master" skill, so I can not help anyone on that
its normal because he is driving like there's no traction control on , it become slow when u just 100% the throttle immediately at the exist on the corner
Yeah was starting to enjoy f124 but this shit made me go back on my opinion. If youre so shit u gotta use assists you should be severely punished in terms of lap times.
on f1 23 i had to use assists but for some reason on f1 24 i can drive with out assists and am a bit faster is there any more tips on how to get faster.
"gaming classes" is just bullshit blue light filter sucks i have used for 2 years now and i had worse sleep it doesn't work its this or Greece is just shit
