Without a doubt this video will become your number one earner. Pay transparency videos are so scarce let alone one that is done this well! Keep up the great work!
@@wanderlustalleyI look forward to seeing you tomorrow I have a copy of our picture from the last time you were in halifax and I have a little surprise for you as well
they used to be more common before people were making buckets of money. when it starts getting to 6 figures, influencers start to get more quiet about their income.
Proud of you! I like your persistency. I was filming for months on my main channel. Hours of great content but I just couldnt get any recognition. I wanted to delete my channel, but luckily a came across guys from Fame ster. They pushed me with first 1k subs and a bit of views. Now I have 20k of real people following me.
Allie, I don’t think people understand how hard you work. Dance captain (like herding cats) ice show, dance show, two performances per day and don’t forget rehearsals and learning understudy roles. You’re amazing.
I think it is great that Royal Caribbean allows you to provide such transparency with the crew and crew areas. Royal Caribbean is my favorite cruise line. This is a creative outlet that does not interfere with your job and paints RC in a great light, so I am glad that they do not seem to have an issue with being identified in your videos ❤
Congratulations! I love the fact that she celebrated earning her first 7 cents, like it just goes to show that she appreciated the process, and even though it was small it was a huge accomplishment 🙌. This motivation came at the perfect time, I want to start diving into my channel and grow. It is refreshing hearing someone else testify that it can be done :)
It is so refreshing to see someone so humble. It is easy to tell that Alley enjoys the simple pleasures in life. She is very passionate about her interests, whether it be as an excellent dancer, or being skillful with the camera and editing; she is very well rounded. Her gorgeous smile and positivity are infectious. Hands down the cutest girl on RU-vid. As any long time viewer of her channel will tell you, she is more than just a pretty face, but what a pretty face it is! Stunning facial features and so very fit and trim. She is very well spoken, intelligent, and has a lovely speaking voice.
Question - why do you think that #1 short video did SO well? Kinda hate to ask - but do you think it was your looks/'outfit' to start the video (mixed in with your growing popularity)? The old 'T&A'? Hopefully, it was not JUST that. Though surely it helped. Thanks for this INCREDIBLY detailed yet easy-to-understand video. Best YT monetization, explanation video I ever recall seeing. ☮
Think this is my favourite of your videos so far, great that you're so open and honest, and a very confident presenter now. The editing is top notch too, and you've got a sponsor. I can see your channel hitting 250K subs by the end of the year at this rate, and it's well deserved 😊👏
This is a smart video. It brings a whole new audience to her channel by posting content that is entirely different from her norm. Beauty and brains! 🥰😁🤩
Thank you for the insight, your content is amazing. ❤I still remember my first RU-vid 'paycheck', a lot of emotions and I was so proud of myself. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (and a lot of Famester, not gonna lie hahah), I wouldn't have made anything.
I love that everyone’s journey to getting monetized is different and it was fun getting to hear yours! Thank you for being transparent when it comes to how much money you’ve made from your videos here on RU-vid. Looking forward to continuing to follow you along on your journey 🥰
Hey Alley! I'm a fan from the future and I can tell you that you are a great success! I'm not sure when I joined or what put your videos in front of me, but your attitude and enthusiasm is super infectious and pure joy! I wish you many more successes in your life and if this is what you choose to do professionally, I hope to enjoy that journey with you!
Your editing skills are always so good. I’m really interested to learn more about how you do it. I’m not even in your demographic - a late 40s dude who loves travel but find your content so refreshingly easy to watch and engaging that it doesn’t surprise me at all that you’re doing so well. It’s clear you put a lot of time and effort into it, so much that it doesn’t seem so. I’d be really keen to learn how much footage you capture, how you handle it all, whether you have editing help etc. Keep up the good work!
for me i got me a monetized youtube channel with over 20k from viral npc marketplace (it is now 30K) and im now earning like an old youtuber haha. Hope that everyone becomes successful!
I love following new RU-vid creators and watching them rise to this. You can almost always tell those who will vs those who won't. Attitude in the video contributes to much. And your personality on camera has that certain attitude that most people love.
i almost forgot i even had a channel since 2008. i never did anything with it until jan 2023. keep at it everyone. your pay video is very refreshing. most of these videos are all over the place. your video is to the point and is much appreciated.
So, your channel popped up randomly in my feed outta nowhere the other day, which is weird, since I have no history of watching 1) cruise ship videos or 2) dance videos. (Maybe the algo pegged me in the travel video catagory? IDK.) Anyhow, I'm really glad it did specifically for this video. My wife and I are laying the foundation for creating content on YT and this video has been extremely informative. Thanks for your forthrightness and candor. You got a sub and I'll be watching from here on out. Cheers!
That editing skill is right up on TV documentary level... Right up the area where I can one-click and directly come to the conclusions of the video without any need of searching through video contents...
Thankyou for being so transparent. Very few RU-vidrs give the exacts numbers they are making and the struggles to get monetized, so this was quite interesting.
Great work! I like your persistency. I was filming for months on my main channel. Hours of great content but I just couldnt get any recognition. I wanted to delete my channel, but luckily a came across guys from fame ster. They pushed me with first 1k subs and a bit of views. Now I have 20k of real people following me.
This is the kind of video I greatly appreciate. It is a clear explanation of what the realistic expectation of creating content is money-wise. The thing I take away from making long-form video is that, over time, it will generate more revenue as more people subscribe and watch more hours of these videos. It adds up over time. A great explanation, a thoughtful distinction between long form and short form and an open and honest display of how much one actually makes. I thought that we wouldn't be hearing any hard numbers and that it would just be meaningless fluff, you see a lot of that. Alley on the other hand is honest about her earnings and explains some of the inner workings of what goes on and what to pay attention to. Great video.
Alley! First of all, congratulations! How exciting and incredible seeing your passion blossom into what it is now (and growing to be!) Thank you for sharing all of this tangible information with us. It's interesting to see you compare a breakdown of your top five earning videos; what a great idea. I'm working towards building up my video library, and I am so excited to be here. Your video shares another great glimpse at what is possible with consistency and passion. 😊Thank you! 🥰
Congratulations on your engagement and on your new contract! We’ll be on Oasis transatlantic crossing from Miami to Barcelona in April. We’re looking forward to seeing the aqua show ago 😊
I came across your content as I do go on cruises and subscribe to a few of the major cruise channels. I enjoy your content as it isn't too long and you have a great persona on it. I've seen a few of the cruise crew channels but yours is the most entertaining. Glad to see you're making some money out of it.
Alley, as someone who is insanely curious about just about everything (at one point my personal library was over 10,000 books) I look at a wide variety of things on line. Here, IMHO, are the keys for your success: The technical aspects of your videos is much higher than the norm on YT. You are engaging and high energy without being tiresome as those who speak at 100% all the time are. You give people an insight into environments that people are curious about-cruise ship life, entertainment, travel and foreign countries. Your voice is pleasant and because of the way you engage with the audience you are “fun”. You vary the content so we don’t get bored, such as where your mom traveled with you. So cute! You are honest. When there are downsides (and life will always send some our way) you deal with them head on without going into the self-pity woe is me mode that others may fall prey to. I have only seen a couple YTers who have been as honest as you with respect to earnings in your job and from YT. You are super cute yet have a maturity beyond other YTers of your age. Anyway, I hope this gives you a better idea of the contributors to your success. Doubtless you have heard much of this in ones-two set fashion, but I thought it might be helpful to lay it all out. Here’s wishing you continued success 🛳️🥂
Well done Alley, I discovered your channel because of the shorts, I like travelling videos, I normally watch lots of them before we go on holidays, these days I was preparing a holiday trip for my wedding anniversary, so the mighty RU-vid algorithm redirected me to one of your shorts, and after this time I really enjoy your videos, it is interesting to see how is life for the people in the ship and your short trips going out of the ship, I really enjoy the content, the format and the way you explain things, and of course your positivity and energy, I wish you good luck and thanks for the nice videos, and specially your travel tips!!
The key thing to remember about Internet on a cruise ship is that the business operations have priority over the passengers and crew. A wired connection will always be faster if you can use one. Great video Alley!
You are the most genuine, kind person, making the best of a difficult job. I know a few folks who have lived that life, also as dancers or performers. It ts not as fun as you make it seem. Your attitude is your blessing and your strength!
It was a simple search in You Tube thinking of a Ocean Liner Cruise in my future (Will be first one)! In fact it was seeing your Shorts that brought me to you here Alley! I really see the smart professionalism in your editing and music choice's being their so fun watch! I'll decide which Cruise I like and book it soon, but keep up the great work and all the best!
I think we all love your smiles Alley. I love the content and travel and places that I will probably never see. I like the breakdown on youtube stuff. Edit: Don't skip ads folks, because if you skip, creator doesn't get paid.
Wonderful perspective! I recently came back from a cruise with royal and I always wondered about how you guys live out there for so long lol. Packaged with a channel monetization video, being a brand new creator on the platform, what a great video. Your attitude is amazing, never stop making videos!
That is about right. Generally shorts should make about $.08 per 1000 views and longs should make about $3-5 per 1000 views. For instance, at the time I am typing this, this video has 234,000 views... which means it has probably earned right around $1000 so far (234 x $4). That is for videos that are in English and primarily targeting USA and western European audiences. The topic of the videos is also important, the more ' advertisable' a video is, the more competition there will be to put ads on your videos, which drives the prices higher. The easy way to think of this is think ' ok, what company would want to put an ad on my video'.... and if you can think of a lot of companies, then you will be above average. For instance, doing a video about ' how to raise your credit score' would have a TON of credit card companies wanting to advertise on that video... but a video on ' why is sand hot' wouldn't. I would imagine this video will be on the higher side because it is about 'making money online'...which is a hot topic.
One of the clear draws / themes in your videos is the positivity / cheerfulness. It is infectious, and I don't think you quite realize the positive impact this has. Good luck and look forward to the future releases.
Congrats Alley! I've always wondered what the behind the scenes are like for a cruise ship entertainer and I am happy that you were able to achieve some success!!
Just stumbled onto your channel, really enjoy your content , you seem like a really authentic, down to earth person , and probably a great person to be around, congrats 👏
Congrats Alley!! awesome video as always! can you do a video on how you maintain your relationship being in a cruise ship most of the year. sounds like it's tough..
you got alot going for you! your content appeals to a very broad amount of people. cruising is huge, and cruisers love getting to know the people on the ship. what you do opens a whole new door into cruise life. secondly your editing is on point. i'm kinda old, but i can still spot a good content creator from an average one. keep doing what you do, and i'm sure it will set you up for whatever the next chapter of your life may bring!
Thank you for the comment in a video earlier. I have 6 brothers and 2 sisters. All of us have kids. 26 to be exact. All of us are supporting your channel. I hope we will help you blow up massively. Like i said in another video....... You are helping humans all over the world and andyour making people have fun. Good energy.... I know your going to make millions.. keep it up....
It's nice to see the transparency and to show how much goes into the videos. Hopefully this helps young kids realize that youtube is less than a career and more of a hobby you do while doing something else you love. Realistically unless you trapped lightning in a bottle, not a full time job and can't last forever. $8K+ in 6 months is incredible if it came from no where, but it's only $1,300K a month, if you're trying to make rent, that's a non-starter. But you've got it made in the shade with the crew gig, salaried position and already low expenses. It would be interesting to also note how long it took you to film, edit and post-process all your videos versus how much the made. What would you "pay yourself" an hour, would you say? Great job, love the vids and how candid you are. Stay this grounded and don't try to chase the youtube algorithm dragon! make videos for YOU!
Thank you for this video!! ❤ I also think you living on a cruise ship definitely helped because there isn’t too much content about people who work and live on a cruise ship :) (At least not on my feed lol) And of course each of your videos bring happy vibes
Congratulations, Alley! Truly happy for your success on both the Tube and cruising. Keep up the great work, looking forward to your future videos! Cheers!
Thank you for this, Alley. Very interesting to get an insight into how YT monetization works. Glad to see that your hard work is paying off! I enjoy your insights into cruise ship life, delivered with a great vibe and 5 megawatt smile. :) You're clearly very talented (dancer, model, video creator) and I wish you the utmost success!
You make content that always cheers me up and I enjoy seeing your work and travels and food and I'm glad it's paying off. Plus your editing is very high quality so I'm sure a lot of time and effort go into making it.
You can also do the same off of RU-vid. Hell I bring home $4500 a week with my job. I don't have to film my entire life. If thats your thing though, have at it. No judgement.
@@freighter1097But that is a judgement. The topics that do best on RU-vid are: finance; business; education; travel; entertainment etc. Content creators who focus solely on filming their private lives will not make money on RU-vid.
Relative newcomer here, so I know I am late. I cannot express how beautiful and happy you are. You seem so real. You don't fake who you are. Keep being you and I feel you will go far. ❤
When I first started making revenue from my channel, it was a great day. However, make sure to follow all the rules, as they can soon stifle your income and throttle your views. I wish you all the best of luck and success with your awesome channel. You make fantastic content. 🥰
Are there certain rules for RU-vidrs regarding pay transparency? It is my understanding that it benefits RU-vidrs if their viewers do not skip ads and I have wondered why I don't see more RU-vidrs simply ask their viewers to not skip ads. Would something like this be against the terms of service agreement?
I love that your filming in Bermuda. Knew it as soon as I saw the scenery. Lived there and married a Bermudian. My second home. Congrats on doing what you love....and getting paid!
Found your channel thanks to RU-vid Shorts algorithm, staying (subscribed) for the entertaining and informative content (while I still plan for my first cruise trip!). Thank you!
My daughter is a singer on a cruise ship , has about a month to go , found you as I can get some feeling what life is like for her too. Hope my viewing has helped.
Dancing requires a relentless work ethic. My daughter dances at Alvin Ailey, so I know. Your work ethic shows in your story telling, I'm a documentary film director, so I know. Congrats on your achievement, keep it up, you're doing great!
Great video on how this works. Thanks for that. You are rocking it, and I hope you keep it up. You have a good eye for video production and editing, and the positivity is infectious. Shorts are just like trailers of your long form videos mainly, aren't they? I think that's what I like about shorts in general, is that I find new creators and go enjoy their "actual" videos. Oh, and since you've shared that cruise ship performances are certainly not going to make anyone rich, I love that your videos are helping your income.
Way to stick with it kid. I love when young people finally realize that consistency is the rule of a life well lived. You learn so much you don't even give it a second thought , but you will reap so many rewards with this type of work ethic. Showing up is 95% of life. Congratulations and continued success... ❤ 💯 👍
I’m actually amazed just how little you were paid for your work on these videos, which obviously was a lot of work. I appreciate your videos. I think RU-vid is underpaying their content providers, especially given how profitable it is.
Well the hope is that they keep on generating income. I have a TINY channel that got monetized a year ago. It’s an eclectic mix of junk that will never get millions of views- BUT…. It generates a couple of hundred a month for doing absolutely no work other than what I posted years ago. So for me, that’s like a new DJI drone each year for free.
@joshallis0n right. But the better the quality of the video, including topic choice and execution, the more views the video gets and the more the ads pay
What a great realistic video. I think this must be the 1st one I have seen online that tells the truth money-wise. Love your content. I hope you keep growing and earning, you deserve this xx
Thanks for the transparency and great work on building your channel. You really earn your money in energy, time and effort so it’s well deserved! Onwards to even great rewards hopefully 🎉
I wasn't that far off, guessed 10k and it was 8k. Congrats to whoever won the contest. Then also congrats for your YT journey this far, I've only stumbled on your content recently and it is a nice watch, learning about things I'd never see otherwise.
In the late 80s and early 90s, my buddies and I cruised incessantly. Your channel has brought that feeling back into my soul that I love and miss. Thanks for that. Time to grab my Walkman and those YachtRock tunes and grab a chair on the deck overlooking the pool. Know that you're making a difference and beyond the $, I can tell that matters to you!
I looooove how excited you are about small consistent earnings. It’s so refreshing! And that you for your transparency about how long it took you to get monetized. I’m 2 years into my journey and it is a slog
If I may make a suggestion for an upcoming vlog, maybe interview crew members (specifically filipinos) as they are crazy about vlog and extremely passionate re any and all things filipino and the culture. Extremely proud of the heritage. You will for sure get a lot of traction/traffic. Thank you! Keep up the crazy good vlog and may you continue to grow your channel! FYI-I'm a new subscriber.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RU-vid channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 872 subs and > 600 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
